Nick Hudson has a dangerous reputation.

That’s what I need if I’m going to survive.

Desperation makes me seek out a ruthlessly powerful billionaire.

I need protection.

He demands my virtue as payment.

I’m falling into a world of luxury and sin.

With every twist and turn, I need more.

Except this is not a man to love.

This is a man to fear.

His obsession grows. So does the threat, until I’m trapped in a world of depravity. I’ll need more than Nick’s strength to survive. I’m going to need his heart.

There isn’t a part of him that isn’t absolute perfection. He’s raw, he’s edgy, he’s dark, and his madness is everything I’ve ever wanted.

When I tell you I will never get tired of the craziness that is the Morelli/Constantine drama, I mean I will never get tired of it. Give it all to me!

And with a brand new cross over trilogy from Alta Hensley, we now meet the bastard daughter of Bryant Morelli and she’s no blushing ingenue for the virgin she is. I immediately loved this woman. I mean the second she appears on the pages, stewing in her jealousy, sneaking into a party she has no business in with her cousin Sasha Morelli. The rest of the Morelli brood know nothing about her. And Lyriope is the epitome of the family black sheep. Her parents risky decisions and irresponsible nature leave her on the receiving end of a debt to the Russians that she has no hope of ever repaying and they want blood.

The only hope she has is a man whose reputation precedes him, Nick Hudson. But Nick doesn’t do anyone favors, and his protection comes with a price…her body and her virginity. And while it sounds cliche, it just worked here, people. Maybe it was Lyriope’s fiery nature to Nick’s blatant and dangerous sexuality. I don’t know and I don’t care, I gobbled it right up.

The way I see it is,” I say as I close the distance between us, so close I can smell the sweetness of the bourbon on her breath. “You either have a gun in your mouth by the end of tonight or my cock. I don’t want to see your pretty little face blown off. But I do want to see those lips around my dick. So, choose wisely.”
… Most women would be scared at the honesty and the reality I painted of their mortality. But Lyriope shows me she is not most women.
“I’ll choose the gun,” she purrs as she darts out her tongue and licks my lips in one long and sensual swipe.

I’ll be honest, at times, I was wondering how this story can stretch over three books. But by the end, I was convinced, even while I cursed that cliffhanger to hell and back.

I loved the nods towards Alice in Wonderland and Nick’s mad hatter vibes. I loved the banter, the danger, and the sizzling chemistry. I also loved Nick’s obsession because you know I love the crazy possessive types.

A delicious start to what’s sure to be a fantastic trilogy!

I was never supposed to see him again. Him being the man wearing the perfectly tailored suit who oozed an intoxicating mixture of wealth, rebellion, and sex appeal.

One night.
No strings.

Great sex.

Still riding the high from last night, I walk in to meet my new client, and he’s wearing that same dangerous smirk that reeled me in hours ago.

Yes, I’m consulting for Callahan Sharpe. And yes, he’s thatCallahan Sharpe.

Billionaire heir apparent who abides by no rules, bucks convention, and is determined to complete one final project to honor his late father’s legacy before walking away from the family business for good. Luckily and unluckily for me, I’ve been tasked to go to the Virgin Islands to help accomplish his goal. Callahan has no problem breaking his company’s no fraternization rule, but not me. There’s too much at stake.

What could possibly go wrong when you’re forced to work—and live—side by side with a man you can’t resist?

Cute, but rest assured, I don’t beg, and I’m far from interested.” Who the hell is this girl right now?
“Is that a challenge?” he asks, those eyes of his freezing me in my place as a ghost of a smirk plays on his lips.
“It’s a fact.”
“Everyone begs. When it’s good enough . . . you beg.”

This series introduces not one, not two, but three to die for heroes. And they’re brothers…and identical twins. Catch your attention? I bet I did. But I get ahead of myself, so let’s talk about this book.

Sutton is a woman who recently lost herself to a toxic relationship with a selfish, domineering man. She’s given up everything, until enough is enough. She finally puts herself first by accepting the promotion of her dreams, and then dumps the baggage of her ex. Out with her friends to celebrate, the last thing she wants is another complication of a man. But when a sinfully sexy stranger says all the right things offers her a sizzling night of passion the likes of which she hasn’t felt in years, she gives in.

Your ex may have allowed you to be silent, but that’s because he was a selfish prick. I want to hear you say what you want. I want to know I’m making you feel how you want to feel. I want the neighbors on either side of these walls to call the front desk because you’re screaming so loud one minute and begging me for more the next. Is that understood?”

So imagine her surprise when she walks into work to meet her new clients from her promotion, and sees triple. As in the mysterious stranger from her one night stand and his two carbon copies, and she has no idea who her stranger is. Then to complicate matters even more, we add in some forced proximity when she has to travel to the virgin islands with one of them to turn around their failing investment of a luxury resort…still having no idea if this man is the one she spent the night with, or if it’s one of his brothers.

This is where things get really interesting. There’s a ton of character development that happens in the next part of the book. I really loved seeing Sutton’s backbone. Even when Callahan throws every seduction tactic her way, she doesn’t give in and makes him work for it. The chemistry between them crackles with all of the passion, but it’s a slow burn to beat all slow burns.

Callahan’s layers get peeled back with each new revelation and flashback to his history with his father. Seen as the irresponsible one who just cars about chasing women by his father, the tension between him and his brothers is intense. There’s so much resentment, judgement, and pain hidden under all of the love they clearly have for each other. I loved watching his slow decent from lust to realizing it’s so much more to what he feels for Sutton. It was an interesting take to see them go from o to 60 back to 0 in the first third of the book, but all of it was deliciously entertaining.

Last Resort is a great start to what shows to be a promising and sizzling new series from K Bromberg and I’m so here for it!

Review: What Lovers Do by Jewel E Ann

WHAT LOVERS DO
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Author: Jewel E Ann
Release Date:
March 24, 2022

From bestselling author Jewel E. Ann comes a hilarious secret lovers story that redefines the meaning of friendship.

Shep’s found the female version of himself … and he thinks she’s perfect—perfectly unavailable.

Everyone loves Shep, the charismatic employee at Scottsdale’s newest pet store. He has shared custody of his two dogs with his annoying ex-wife and a smile that can disarm most women.

Except … Dr. Sophie Ryan.

What starts out as a disastrous first meeting, involving a coffee catastrophe and mistaken flirting, turns into an unconventional friendship.

Fake phone sex.
Dog park dates.
And eighteen holes of golf.

The problem? Sophie’s taken herself out of the dating pool for a mysterious reason, imprisoning Shep in the friend zone for eternity.

As their competitive personalities hit a boiling point, the gloves come off and so do their clothes. When Sophie’s “real” life threatens their relationship, can Shep let go of his past to chase the one that might get away?

AMAZON

This is messy. We are tangled in every way, and it’s going to be hard to untangle from this mess we’re creating without pieces of my heart ripping, without exposing all the parts I don’t want him to see.

Jewel E Ann books are my happy place. And while I’m not usually a romcom girl, this one sure changed my tune. It was this lovely combination of laugh till you have tears humor, incredibly relatable characters, emotion, and a slow burn romance that was simply to die for. I adored it. I adored it beyond reason.

Sophie is my friend. A friend who I love. She’s taken up residence in my head and all four chambers of my heart.

When a meet cute is so uncomfortably embarrassing that you experience second hand embarrassment from reading it, you know you’re in for a fun read. And the way Sophie and Shep meet was anything but forgettable.

Having just broken up with, if you can even call it that, with her boyfriend, Sophie’s life is…complicated. Her ex boyfriend refuses to accept the break up or leave her house, and she has a secret that she’s keeping from him and her family. When she meets the charismatic dog store employee with a flirty smile and dreamy eyes, the last thing she needs is that complication.

Shep is a recent divorce that didn’t let his divorce turn him bitter. He’s instantly drawn to the beautiful and awkward Sophie and refuses to take no for an answer. When I tell you that I loved the way he came at her, it’s like she never sees him coming until he’s full embedded under her skin. He doesn’t ask her for anything more that friendship, and the way it all develops is both heartwarming and hilarious. Admittedly I did have my moments when I wanted to shake Sophie to get her to wake up and just have a conversation. But it was also super fun to watch the awkward. I also spent many a pages yelling at Jimmy through my kindle because no fictional character should be that thick headed. But even that was fun.

Then there’s one particular scene where I thought I would pee myself laughing that was so relatable, I don’t think I’ll forget it so long as I live. All I will say is Chapter 29. Just trust me on this.

I fell for these two so hard. I loved their unconventional friendship turned romance. Sophie fights it so hard, but Shep is just that irresistible. It was this endearing combination of laugh out loud humor, swoony romance, and life drama. And that epilogue? Sheer perfection. If you’re looking for something a little different, packed with laugh out loud moments, do yourself a favor and read this book.

AMAZON

I want forever, and I want it with you.”

So…in my usual style of doing things ass-backwards, this was my first Melissa Foster book.

The funny thing is…

OK so it’s not funny. It was the cover, okay? The cover did it. I blame the cover. Stop judging me now. I see you giving me those judgy eyes. Quit it.

The funny thing is I’m not usually a friends to lovers fan. I much prefer the angst of an enemies to lovers. But every now and then, I do crave a bit of pining, and so a good friends to lovers will do the trick. And when that pining is for your manwhore best friend, who you live with, and get nightly reminders of his manwhoring ways? Well, let’s just say my expectations of pining were UP THERE.

Sidney Carver is the sort of heroine I love. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. Though considering how long they’ve been friends, and how Gunny has no problem bringing his highly conquests to the home they live in together, and their thin walls, I was curious to see how they’d go from 0 to 60. And luckily it didn’t disappoint. Their slow burn was definitely a believable one. Watching Gunny’s blinders be taken off with each passing day and seeing his realization that he may have friend zoned Sidney, but now that he’s woken up, he realizes what an idiot he’s been was seriously satisfying.

This was cute and steamy, though a touch too sweet for my particular tastes. But don’t get me wrong, I still read this in one sitting. It was certainly enough to hook me on this author who I have clearly been sleeping on, and thoroughly investigating her backlist.

If you like feel good, light hearted friends to lovers romance with plenty of swoon and steam, this will do the trick nicely. And you can easily read it as a standalone, which was fantastic for me.

Review: A Million Kisses In Your Lifetime by Monica Murphy

A MILLION KISSES IN YOUR LIFETIME
Author: Monica Murphy
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: March 10, 2022

Wren Beaumont is many things.

Beautiful.
Smart.
Sweet.
Innocent.

At Lancaster Prep, the girls love her. They all want to be her friend. Only I see Wren for who she really is.

A repressed little virgin who keeps her feelings locked up so tight she’s probably close to bursting. She thinks she’s above us all.

Even me.

I shouldn’t be drawn to her. She’s not my type.

Until we’re forced to work together in class and realize we might have more things in common than we originally thought. Soon enough I find myself completely obsessed. I will do anything for this girl to make her fall in love with me.

Anything.

AMAZON

Crew Lancaster is too much. Too moody and too dark and too quiet. Too handsome and magnetic and smart. I don’t like how I feel when his eyes are on me.

After devouring and absolutely loving Things I Wanted To Say, I was giddy in anticipation of more books in the Lancaster Prep world. I love Monica’s brand of angst and broody and tortured heroes. But this one caught me a bit by surprise, admittedly, because it was like nothing I expected, and not in a bad way.

Now if you’re expecting the same level of angst as Things I wanted to Say, this isn’t it. Crew Lancaster may be broody, but he’s not Whit Lancaster broody. He’s basically the broody cinnamon roll to his cousin, and I loved that in him.

Wren is the untouchable girl at Lancaster prep. Her family is almost the same level of rich as Crew, but their morals are world apart. She’s the beautiful and untouchable virgin, who can do no wrong, and barely spares Crew a look. He’s determined to get her attention, so when a class projects puts them together, he knows this is his moment.

What’s interesting is Wren is the exact type of heroine that I tend to gravitate away from. She’s too sweet, super sheltered and naive. She’s also the super innocent virgin who’s never been kissed. But there was just something so endearing about her, that where I would get annoyed by a heroine like this in any other book, it somehow worked for her here.

Crew goes from broody to full on cinnamon roll. And again, cinnamon roll is not usually my cuppa, but it also worked for me here. I just loved these two together and watching their avoidance grow to an unlikely friendship which soon bloomed into romance. I absolutely loved them together.

My only minor quibble, is there was little to no conflict in the story, outside of what was happening with secondary characters like with Wren’s father, or the teacher, and some friends. All of these things added tension to their relationship, sure, but I wanted more. I suppose I just expected a touch of angst, or at the very least some conflict between the two considering their difference, but that wasn’t present. Though the woo is super strong with Crew. This guy can teach romance to men double his age. I loved that about him.

I also wish we got a bit more closure with some of the secondary characters like Natalie and Maggie, but perhaps that may come with later books? I’m super curious about the grumpy and broody Marcus, so fingers crossed we may get a book for him too.

All in all this was a bit lighter than I expected, but still hit the spot just right.

Review: Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy

GOOD GIRL COMPLEX
Genre: Contemporary, New Adult Romance
Author: Elle Kennedy
Release Date:
February 1, 2022

Full of romance, hijinks, and longing, Good Girl Complex is Elle Kennedy at her very best.

She does everything right. So what could go wrong?

Mackenzie “Mac” Cabot is a people pleaser. Her demanding parents. Her prep school friends. Her long-time boyfriend. It’s exhausting, really, always following the rules. All she wants to do is focus on growing her internet business, but first she must get a college degree at her parents’ insistence. That means moving to the beachside town of Avalon Bay, a community made up of locals and the wealthy students of Garnet College.

Twenty-year-old Mac has had plenty of practice suppressing her wilder impulses, but when she meets local bad boy Cooper Hartley, that ability is suddenly tested. Cooper is rough around the edges. Raw. Candid. A threat to her ordered existence. Their friendship soon becomes the realest thing in her life.

Despite his disdain for the trust-fund kids he sees coming and going from his town, Cooper soon realizes Mac isn’t just another rich clone and falls for her. Hard. But as Mac finally starts feeling accepted by Cooper and his friends, the secret he’s been keeping from her threatens the only place she’s ever felt at home.

AMAZON  | PAPERBACK

I was half asleep until I met him.

Oh Elle Kennedy, how I’ve missed your writing. This book just hit all of the right spots for me, and I really do mean all of the right spots. I sincerely hope this is the start of an incredible new series because I’m seriously in love with the setting of Avalon Bay and all of the secondary characters introduced here. But I digress. Let’s chat Good Girl Complex. Because, man I loved this book.

This is your opposites attract, rich girl meets boy from the wrong side of the tracks but with a twist. Cooper and his twin brothers are guys with a definite rep in their town. Oh and icing, they’re twins. Yep. You read that right. TWINS. But I digress again. Coop is sick and tired of the rich trust fund kids that flood their college town with their entitlement and egos. So when particularly vapid one causes trouble at the bar Coop bartends end, and it results with the kid throwing his weight around and Coop getting fired, he’s pissed. He’s beyond pissed. So what’s a guy to do to get revenge? Why target the douchebag’s equally rich and gorgeous girlfriend, get her to fall for him, so he can dump her and get to rub it in the rich a-holes face of course. DUH. But you know what they say about the best laid plans…

Mac is the furthest thing from the stereotypical rich girl. She’s only in college after a gap year to appease her parents who don’t exactly support her entrepreneurial ways. It doesn’t matter that Mac is the mastermind behind a website that made her a millionaire. All her parents want is for her to marry the right man like her equally rich boyfriend, and be the good little wife. Ah stereotypes.

Coop and Mac meet and become fast friends. Mac is yearning for something more, and her life is slowly suffocating her. Coop allows her the freedom she’s been unknowingly yearning for. And the chemistry between them? DELICIOUS.

This is very much a slow burn, and as we slowly get to know each layer of these characters, we see the connection between them grow into something neither of them expected. Mac as she slowly acknowledges her attraction to Coop and grows into her own beyond the chains of her responsibilities. Coop as he realizes that what started as a bet is so much more. And this girl? Devoured every page of it.

This is the New Adult gold in a way that only Elle Kennedy can write. It was opposites attract deliciousness that I devoured from cover to cover and left desperate for more. And while I would have loved an epilogue, I simply adored this book and these characters. There’s so many secondary characters that I’m hoping get their own books in this town, including Coop’s twin. If you’re looking for an incredibly written New Adult romance, you seriously cannot miss this one.

**Start reading the Black’s Bandits Series today and enjoy an action-packed, seriously romantic and steamy-good-fun military romantic suspense. Each book can be read as a standalone. No cliffhangers or cheating and a guaranteed happily-ever-after ending!

AMAZON  | NOOK | KOBO | GOOGLE PLAY

Ian Black was an addiction. A dark, dangerous addiction that would get her killed if she didn’t escape. Except she didn’t want to escape. She wanted to stay.

I have been waiting YEARS for this book. YEARS! The second Ian Black appeared on the pages of HOT as a secondary character, he completely stole the show. I was desperate for every morsel of information on this enigma of a man. And the second we meet Natasha in Black List, I knew I needed her story desperately. After all, does it get any better than a redemption book for a female baddy? I think not.

Now I highly recommend that you read this series in order. I’ve loved every spin off since Lynn’s HOT series. But to really understand the dynamics and complexities of this book, you really should read Black’s Bandits in order. Or at the very least have read Black List. This is the book where Natasha is first introduced as Jace’s sister who he thought was long dead, having been executed along with their parents. Now Natasha is known as Calypso, the deadly assassin for the Russian syndicate, and the woman that’s enemy number one for Ian’s team.

When her brother deflected, Natasha and their parents paid the price. While her parents were executed, she was thrown into a prison, soon to become a deadly trained assassin. But in this story, the layers finally peel, and you get to see what’s truly been driving her all this time, and my heart melted and broke for her at the same time. Her and Ian have had a connection that they finally fully give into. And while I’m not usually a fan of the couple getting together in the beginning of the book because it looses a bit of the tension, it quite worked here.

Now admittedly, because this was my most anticipated book in all of the series, I built it up a bit. So it may have been my expectations getting ahead of me here, but I did find myself wishing it had a bit more edginess, considering who both Natasha and Ian are. This read a bit harlequin-y for me, and while that’s not a bad thing, I had hoped for more. But that minor quibble aside, I still devoured this story and loved the super satisfying conclusion with its multiple epilogues. If you like romantic suspense with plenty of steam, you simply can’t go wrong with this series.

Dating can be tricky. And life can be beautiful and crazy and unpredictable. But when it gets real, you discover what matters most . . . and the one person you want loving you through it all.

AMAZON  | PAPERBACK | NOOK | iBOOKS | KOBO | GOOGLE

Sometimes life can be a straight-up asshole . . . but then it gets better. And that better can end up being more perfect than you ever dreamed.

I swear, this woman can write a grocery list, and I’ll happily read it with a goofy smile on my face. I’m not a reader that gravitates towards sweet and fluffy, unless Emma writes it. This woman can write the fluffiest book on the planet, and I’d love it to pieces. And considering I’ve loved the first two books in this series, is it any wonder that I adored this one?

I’ve been waiting for Connor’s book since meeting him as a secondary character in Getting Schooled. There’s just something about a male character in his 40s who has his sh*t together that just does it for a girl every now and then. And while I love me my alphaholes, Connor hit the spot just right. This divorced father of three was simply amazing. His divorce wasn’t great, but it didn’t turn him bitter. And I just loved the dynamic between him and his sons.

Violet was simply adorable. She’s an ER nurse who’s been working with Connor for two years, and been crushing on him hard just as long. I loved the way she pined for this man without reserve. Poor Connor and his awkward assumptions of what a woman in her 30s wants. And poor Violet in her thinking that Connor isn’t interested.

This was one of those lighthearted, low angst, feel good sort of reads that you devour in one sitting and leaves a huge smile on your face. There’s no crazy drama. And I especially loved the dynamic with Connor’s ex and the growth there. But more than anything, I just loved Violet and Connor together. I loved how sweet they were to each other, and the chemistry between them. I loved how Violet takes care of Connor and how he falls for her almost instantly. I just loved these two together. Their chemistry, their banter, their everything.

Did I read this in one sitting? I sure did. And that ending? Sheer perfection!

I didn’t think a monster could be this beautiful.

Well, didn’t this take a kinky turn? *satisfied grin* I definitely didn’t see this coming, but dang if you’ll hear a peep of complaint from this girl.

After devouring the first book, I was left reeling after that jaw dropping cliffhanger. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and the second it landed on my kindle, I dove right in. And then found myself treading water for a bit. What I’m saying is that it took me a hot minute to get into and I’m not certain why. I sort of muddled my way through the first 30% and was worried because it started to feel like I was disconnecting from the story and the characters. But then it took an interesting turn.

The second we began to learn more about Emerson, I was all in. This man was a full enigma in book one, and we finally get a peek into his dark soul in the second half of this one, and I was here for it. He’s such a complex character, and that really gets unraveled here. The more you learn, the more you understand. And while the reader gets to peel back the layers of the enigma that is Emerson, we also get to see the sexual awakening of Daphne. As the overly protected sister of Leo Morelli, Daphne is not exactly naive, but she isn’t experienced. She can’t possibly be too naive with a father like hers, but she’s always been overly coddled by her brother. This book really brings about her sexual awakening…with a bang. So while the first half of the book felt stretched out, and a touch repetitive, I devoured the second half.

Now this is where it also gets interesting because you’ll see there’s a divide. Some readers either really loved this while others hated it. I happen to fall in the former. There’s a particular scene that I didn’t find to be shock value, but a character developing scene for Emerson and Daphne both. It fit, but it wasn’t your mainstream romance, so if you’re expecting that, this book isn’t for you. I personally loved the hell out of it.

And that ending? I can’t wait to see how it all concludes!

Once upon a time, Phoenix Walker made me believe I was special. Then he destroyed me.

Lennon Michael is my biggest craving and my biggest regret.

For the blur of hours it took me to devour this book, it owned every part of me. This is by far, hands down, my favorite Ashley Jade book to date. I am absolutely ruined. RUINED.

When I tell you I binge read this in one sitting, I mean I stayed up until 4 am reading it. And as I write this review bleary eyed and coffee high the next day, I have zero regrets. Because this book was simply EPIC.

As a reader, I love broken, tortured and imperfect characters, and this story delivered this in spades. My heart bled for these characters and their pain.

When Lennon and Phoenix first meet, they’re in high school. Phoenix is the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, and Lennon is the girl with the seemingly perfect life…but who’s constantly bullied for her weight. Theirs is an unlikely friendship that forms when Lennon agrees to tutor Phoenix, that grows into something so much more as they get to know each other. Until the day when he completely shatters her heart.

Four years later, Phoenix is a famous rockstar who’s quickly spiraling out of control in drugs, women, and partying. Desperate to keep him out of the tabloids and on the straight and narrow, his manager reaches out to the one woman that’s not going to fall for his charm. She’s also the one woman that wants nothing to do with him.

Phoenix took everything, and her heart from her. Now given the chance at a huge pay day to play babysitter and to get revenge, Lennon agrees to go on tour with him and his band for 8 weeks.

When I tell you that both of these characters are damaged, I really mean it. There were times where I wanted to scream to the ceiling and shake both of them. They’re as far from perfect as they come, and their decisions show it. I wanted to hate both of them for some of the stupid things that they did. But they’re also authentic, multilayered, and so well developed, that you simply can’t help but fall further under their spell. Phoenix and his tortured soul, and Lennon and her hidden insecurities and broken heart.

Their road to a HEA is full of pain, heart ache, betrayal, mistakes, and angst. And when I say angst, I mean ANGST. If you want faultless characters who don’t make their share of stupid mistakes, this book isn’t for you. I love how the author wasn’t afraid to go there with this story and her characters. Yes, they’re damaged, but I loved them and their imperfections. I loved the tension with Phoenix and Lennon almost as much as I loved the incendiary chemistry when they finally give into the inevitable. And the grovel and grand gesture at the end? OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD.

I also fell incredibly hard for all of the secondary characters, and already salivating for both Memphis and Storm’s books. This was honestly one of my favorite rockstar romances I’ve read in a long, long while, and I cannot recommend it enough. Just be prepared for a book full of messy emotions, unforgivable betrayals, and a once in a lifetime love. I’m absolutely obsessed!!
