Review: Where We Belong by Ashley Munoz

WHERE WE BELONG
Series: Stone Riders MC #2
Author: Ashley Munoz
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 23, 2024

An Enemies to Lovers Romance

They call him the Wolf.

His club, his brothers, and even my best friend Callie.

I didn’t really care what they called him, not when the only name I had ever called him was, coward.

Because three months ago he snuck under my resilient heart, like the thief he is, and stole it.

Then he broke it.

Going home wasn’t an option, not when I promised Callie I’d stay. She swore I’d eventually feel like I belonged in this small town.

The club ensured I had a job, and a place to live which reluctantly earned my loyalty.

Until I discovered their little caveat.

The apartment technically belonged to the new president.

I was welcome to stay…as long as I understood it meant sharing.

And my new roommate?

The very man who turned avoidance into an Olympic sport.

What do you want from me, Killian?” His glare softened the smallest bit before hardening again. “I want you to stop being a complication. You’re a flicker in my peripheral vision, a glare, a goddamn floater that corrective lenses would fix. I want to erase you.”
Killian stepped closer. “But… I also want to wrap your soul around mine, feel the beat of your heart in my neck as I breathe, and carry you with me everywhere I go, all at the same fucking time.”

It’s been a hot minute since I read a book by Ashley and I have no idea why. But I know that I’ll be binging on her backlist immediately. Especially since I did myself a bit of a disservice by reading this book first. There is a lot of overflow from the first book in this series. And while it’s still an easy standalone read, you can clearly tell it would be an even better one if you read in order. So don’t be like me and read Where We Started first.

Now if you know me, then you know that I like my heroes mean…and I mean MEAN. Like I need him to hurt all the feelings before he makes everything right, ok? And Killian. This man was the perfect combination of mean and a heart of gold. You don’t know if you want to hug him or punch him but I absolutely fell in love with him.

You don’t care.” He stepped closer, so close my back was pinned to the truck. “I care about every eye that lands on you. Every breath that’s inhaled your scent. Every smile given to you, every hand that’s ever touched you. I care, Daisy. Too fucking much if we’re being honest.”

Killian always knew he can have only one love and focus, his club. Laura is a distraction he doesn’t need and he doesn’t shy away from reminding her of the fact. But Laura also doesn’t shy away from giving as good as she gets. The chemistry between these two was everything. I couldn’t get enough of them.

I craved his destruction, the devastation I knew he promised. I had some sick and twisted desire to hurt.

I loved their antagonism and back and forth almost as much as I loved when they gave into the inevitable. I spent my time equally wanting to throttle Killian and wanting to hump his leg. The man is sex personified but there are so many layers to him that makes him own all your attention. Every time you peel back a layer, he gets further and further under your skin and I loved having him there.

Laura was a great heroine and the perfect balance to Killian’s intensity. There was just enough grit to this MC romance that made it for one delicious page turner without getting too dark and I enjoyed every page of it. I’m hooked on this series and already salivating for the next book.

Review: Sexy as Sin by Willow Winters

SEXY AS SIN
Series: Underworld Kings
Genre: Contemporary Romance, MC/Mafia
Author: Willow Winters
Release Date: December 21, 2021

I was her first and her everything, no matter what anyone else says I loved her and I still do.

Sexy as Sin by Willow Wintersis now live!

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Willow Winters, comes a sexy second-chance MC romance set in a gritty underworld you won’t soon forget.

Sexy and sinful.

Those words have been used to describe me a time or two. But they fit her too. My ride or die. My one and only. My addiction and my sanity. Our pairing was a business decision done right.

Until all hell broke loose.

I took the fall for her, and it cost me everything.

Prison made me harder; this life made me colder. Seeing her again for the first time in years, eyes wide with promises and heartbreak, I can feel time falling away.

But danger still haunts her, and I’m not the man I once was. There’s no way she could love the monster I’ve become. Still, I’ll do anything to protect her. Even if it means taking down everyone standing in my way.

Sexy as Sin is a standalone novel in the Underworld Kings series.

AmazonApple Books | Google Play |  Kobo | Barnes & Noble | Signed Paperback

She has always been mine. Even though she broke my heart. Even after years of being apart. She’s mine. She’ll always be mine.

I’ve been wanting to read a Willow Winters books forever. But I’m a commitment phobe when it comes to trilogies and series, because I want instant gratification. *sheepish grin* What? At least I own it. But I digress. I have so many of her books on my kindle, but wanted to start with a standalone. So when I saw she’d be releasing a book with the Underground Kings series, I knew this would be my first book of hers. And it did not disappoint. It’s a mashup of MC and mafia with a sexy twist.

Cill and Kat were madly in love until one night when everything came crashing down and both their lives were changed irrevocably. Kat’s world is turned upside down and Cill spends four years behind bars when he refused to turn on his MC. Now he’s out and he’s determined to get his woman back, but Kat is not the same sound girl she was when Cill went away. She’s got secrets, secrets that can break what little thread they still have.

Admittedly, I fully expected an MF romance reading the blurb. So imagine my surprise at the sexy little twist towards the end. Though my one quibble, perhaps due to the shortness of the story, is it didn’t feel fully set up for the sharing element. However, you won’t find this girl complaining, because I still enjoyed the hell out of it. There’s a little of everything; suspense, angst, emotion, and all of the steam. I read this in one sitting and highly recommend for anyone looking for a steamy MC/Mafia read.

I started writing after having my little girl, Evie, December of 2015. All during my pregnancy with her I read. I only wanted to read romance novels and I read everything I could get my hands on. I would read a book a day — sometimes two. In January I was staying up late with her and just thinking of all these stories. They came to me constantly. I finally sat down and just started writing. I always wanted to do it so I figured, why not?

I never thought I would reach this point of success to be honest. It’s insane to me that I have connected with so many readers.

And I love each and every one of them for all of their support. I’ll be honest, some days are HARD. I have my littles during the day and I write at night. Some days are just simply exhausting and then I hear from a reader and it motivates me to push through and keep writing.  I couldn’t be more grateful for this wonderful career.

AMAZON

I was trying to live like a fucking priest, but I was a sinner. There was no hiding from it. No evading it.”

I’m speechless right now.
Ruined.
Wrecked.
Completely overwhelmed with feels.

This book. THIS. BOOK. I don’t even have the words for all that I feel right now.

I have never read this author. I also haven’t read any of the other books in this series. But when I read the blurb to this book, I had zero chill. I had to read it and I took a chance to read it completely out of order without having read the rest of the series. And you know what?
I’m a sucker for a redemption story. I’m an even bigger sucker for a gritty MC. And I’m absolutely gone for a cheating redemption story. So long as it fits the story, of course. And this story? It was all of the things.

So you’re just being possessive?”
“No.”
“What is it then?”
“I want what’s best for her. I just wish that were me.”

This story was a kick straight to the feels. Storm was emotional, gritty, unapologetic, and completely unforgettable.

Now let’s address the elephant in the room. This series is not really read as standalones. But you can easily read this book and enjoy it without having read the others because there’s perfect amount of background given.

Let’s not address the other elephant in the room. Cheating. If that’s not your thing, don’t read this book. Seriously. But I happen to love the angst of a good cheating story. The book starts out with Storm and Keira already separated following the events of his f*ckups. The story is told in part present and flashbacks to the past. You’re taken deep into the heart and soul of an incredibly broken and damaged man. You get to wade throw his pain, his regrets, and ultimately his redemption.

Now you’re probably saying to yourself, cheating is never acceptable. Well, in the case of this book, I disagree. I love reading redemption stories and I love seeing the ugly side of love. And Storm’s story is not a light one but man was it good. He’s not a perfect man. He’s not even a good man. But he’s a man that would do anything for his family and would break himself apart for his estranged wife. Including tattooing “Property of Keira” and piercing his dick with a padlock that only Keira has a key to. Even though they’re not together and he has no hope they ever will be.

They met when Keira was just 19 and the growth they both go through is painful and uplifting all in one. Storm is a man with vices. He’s a recovering addict and so far from perfect, but man my heart just went out to him. Watching these two slowly find their way to each other again is one of the most painful and fulfilling experiences I’ve had from a book in a long while. I also loved the way the cheating is handled. Look I get that it’s not everybody’s cuppa, but if someone was going to write a cheating hero and redeem him, there is no better book than this one. And that extra epilogue? Wrecked me.

Keira and Storm’s love story is not a pretty one. It’s definitely not a smooth one. These are both incredibly broken and damaged characters. They’re not perfect and they’re not innocent. But watching the growth they both go through was incredible. And watching them find their way back to each other while facing all the odds against them was an experience unlike any I’ve had in a long while.

I could probably write an entire novel for my review with all the feels I have for this book, but I won’t. What I’ll tell you is this is a book that you simply need to take a chance on. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s a slow burn. A painful and beautiful second chance romance that owned me from beginning to finish. The last time I had this many feels with a book, I was reading Undeniable. Serena just got herself a new stalker….erm…fan. Because I just grabbed the rest of this series on KU and see a binge on the horizon.

Review: Inked In Lies by Giana Darling

INKED IN LIES
Genre: MC Romance, Contemporary
Series: Fallen Men #5
Author: Giana Darling
Release Date: July 31https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50256015-inked-in-lies?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=DabMWCzZCp&rank=1, 2020

He moved in next door.

Handsome as sin, older in a way that meant forbidden.

He had tattoos on his hands and wickedness tucked in his grin.

I was a goner as girl to a man they called Casanova for a reason. He would never love me, at least not the way I needed him to.

I tried to move on. But I couldn’t turn my back on him or The Fallen MC.

So when they needed me most, I offered the only thing of value I could use to help them.

My body.

And when helping them meant putting my life on the line, Nova had to decide just how much he was willing to do to get me out alive.

A standalone romance in The Fallen Men series.

 AMAZON

He was it. My dream man wrapped up in a sinful package. And he was still completely and utterly forbidden.

I’m a sucker for unrequited love tropes and gritty MC and this book was the best of both worlds.

She was mine. And I was hers in the way a wolf is owned by his moon, elementally, fuckin’ irrevocably.

Nova and Lila’s story was not an easy one. It was full of angst, frustration, and pain. They first meet when Lila is only a little girl and Nova quickly becomes her everything. His family becoming Lila’s escape when all she’s known in her young life have been liars and criminals. Lila’s childhood is anything but pretty or easy. It’s full of loss, pain, and lies. But what starts as a bit of hero worship soon bleeds into something so much more as Lila grows older.

Nova is the pretty playboy of the Fallen Men. He’s quick to smile and isn’t above using his good looks to get what he wants. He’s perfectly content spending each night with a different woman and has no illusions that he would ever want more. But not all is as it seems with Nova. He’s a true wolf in sheep’s clothing. His easy smile hides some very dark demons. Lila has always been like a foster sister to him but there’s also something more that pulses between them when she gets older. He knows he can’t be what he wants and he pushes her away, cruelly and bluntly. Theirs is a dance of push and pull that will drive you to the brink of madness at times, but it hurts so good!

There’s so much that happens in this book; secrets unravel with so many twists and turns, it will leave your head reeling. The romance is gritty, frustrating, and oh so delicious. Lila, even if she does forgive Nova too easily in parts, is still a force to be reckoned with and I really loved her fire. Nova was impossible not to love, even when you wanted to hate him. His decisions in parts had me wanting to shake him and rip my hair out. But there’s just something so addictive about this man.
hight=”50″ width=”50″ />Loving someone shouldn’t be contingent on them returning that affection. Loving someone existed apart from reciprocation.

I loved the story and the gritty feels of it. Lived for it. But it was missing some polish. There were some minor continuity and timeline issues. There were also some very minor characterization issues. For example, 17 year old Nova sounded exactly like 30 year old Nova biker, which wasn’t a huge thing in the grand scheme of things, but still noticeable. The other thing was all the fallen men sound the same. same intonations, same turn of phrases and lack of constants. Don’t get me wrong, the biker speak is great, and I loved the Kristen Ashley feel of it in parts. But in the same breath, it was tough to read when it was also in their inner monologues. Like I would have to re-read sentences 3 times before it finally clicked what they were saying. Sorry, y’all, I simply couldn’t shut off my picky brain long enough to look past it. Le sigh. This series has a very strong KA feel to it, which I love. But the lack of constants and the blurring of words like “all of the” for: “alla the brothers” or “you think you can handle alla that” became a bit grating for me.

Clearly I still really enjoyed the book so please take my nitpicking with a grain of salt. Because it’s just that; nitpicking. The story was great and I devoured it. After Welcome to the Dark Side it has now become my second favorite book in the series. If you love gritty MC, it’s definitely not to be missed. Giana is a talented author that can weave an addictive tale full of twists and turns that will have you glued to the pages.

Review: Welcome To The Dark Side by Giana Darling

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE
Series:
FALLEN MEN #2
Genre: Dark, MC Romance
Author: Giana Darling
Release Date: April 18, 2018

I was a good girl.

I ate my vegetables, volunteered at the local autism centre and sat in the front pew of church every Sunday.

Then, I got cancer.

What the hell kind of reward was that for a boring life well lived?

I was a seventeen-year-old paradigm of virtue and I was tired of it.

So, when I finally ran into the man I’d been writing to since he saved my life as a little girl and he offered to show me the dark side of life before I left it for good, I said yes.

Only, I didn’t know that Zeus Garro was the President of The Fallen MC and when you made a deal with a man who is worse than the devil, there was no going back…

This is Daddy Zeus Garro’s story from Lessons In Corruption. A standalone in The Fallen Men series.

AMAZON

I was sick. Sick with lust for a girl nineteen years younger than me and morally sick because of it.

I’ve been eyeing this series for forever it feels like. But I was somewhat burned out on MC romance, or at least on the poorly written ones masquerading as MC romance, that I was a little trigger shy. What? I’m judgy! This shouldn’t be news to you here. But the allure of a taboo romance with a dirty talking MC prez proved to be too much, so I finally bit the bullet and dove in. And I am so glad I did!!!

He was breathtaking in every sense. Terrifying beyond comprehension and so gorgeous, it was a physical blow to the senses.

This book was everything I didn’t know I wanted. If you’re a fan of a good age gap, this one delivers in spades. It was like a love child of Undeniable and Motorcycle Man. Or as I call it, my catnip. Me-Ow! *purrs contentedly*

Now before all of you pearl clutchers come after me for liking a book between a 17 year old and a man 19 years her senior, I’d like to say that this is set in BC where the age of consent is 16. The heroine is also wise and mature well beyond her years as a product of her circumstance. That was probably one thing that worried me with starting this. Naive, immature heroines are my kryptonite. I can’t deal with it. Louise was great! She definitely had her teenage moments, which just made it believable. But she wasn’t an immature brat. Being the daughter of a corrupt mayor and parents who barely pay attention, and surviving leukemia has forced her to grow up quick. She first meets Zeus Garro in a hail of bullets as a young girl, when he saves her life. And the rest, as they say is history. They’re reunited again when Zeus gets out of jail and Louise is now a teenager with an entirely different form of hero worship for the dangerously lethal biker.

Zeus was perfection. The man is a dirty talking god. He’s utterly electric on the pages. I swear I got tingles just reading about him. He’s an MC Prez that doesn’t shy away from blood shed, but he’s also a devoted father. And he’s so dirty. I mean DURTY. GOD but it was delicious.

Now look, I’d be lying if I said this book was perfect. There were pacing issues. Quite a few of them. This messed a little with the flow of the story. However, I was so invested that I barely batted an eye lash at it. What did get me, though, were the KA-isms. And by KA-isms, I mean it was almost too much with the similarities at times. Now considering I had just finished a Kristen Ashley book right before this, clearly this was very fresh on my mind. I’ve read plenty of books that emulate her style, and I don’t usually mind it. However, this author clearly has writing chops, and her work can stand on its own and I would have loved if it resonated here. But the characters all sound like KA men with their aversion to any words ending with a consonant, amongst other things, yeah? What frustrated me was this was not just in dialogue but with inner monologue as well. I get that a character should stay consistent, but it was just too much. Then there’s the chapters that start in the middle of a sex scene, much like KA. What I’m saying is, the similarities were there, and it’s worth a mention.

Now, aside from that, this book was SOLID. I’m talking page-turner. Full of action, hot romance, and all of the grit. It read like a good MC book should. It felt authentic. These men were not innocent by any means, but you can’t help but love them. Zeus is just a god amongst men. This is a character that I won’t be forgetting any time soon. There’s just something about him that sticks with you.

If you’re a fan of gritty MC romance, this is an absolute must read. Take it from this cynic, you want to meet daddy Zeus. Do it and thank me later.

Birdie Blue was my fucking nightmare and salvation wrapped up into one terrifying package. She’d left her mark on me, branding it into my rusted up broken-down heart.

I’ve been itching for Birdie’s story ever since she was introduced in Confess, but I never expected for her story to blow me away quite like this. I was riveted to the pages. I was rabid in my need for more. I was addicted to the story and the characters and I couldn’t get enough. Convict was one deliciously gritty ride that was packed full of emotion and an unorthodox kind of romance that you can’t help but root for. It was freaking fantastic is what I’m trying to tell you here, people!!

Zavarelli is one of my go-to’s when it comes to dark romance. This series is somewhere in the middle. It’s dark, but not too dark. It’s gritty. But it’s certainly not a walk through the park either. It’s perfectly balanced and I loved that about it.

Ace owned my attention from the second he appeared on the pages of Confess, but when you get a peek inside his head? Stick a fork in me, I’m done! This beautifully broken man that’s damaged almost beyond repair stole my heart and I never want it back. You know that this man has been through something dark in his past, but nothing prepares you for the reality of it. He’s this perfectly imperfect character that you can’t help but fall for.

Birdie is quite the damaged character herself. If you’ve read the first book then you already have a pretty good idea about her dark childhood. But what you didn’t know and discover here, is the amount of depth she has. This is not quite the happy go lucky little sister that you think you know from the previous book. This is a woman with her own hidden demons and a heart of gold. She’s strong and a fighter and I connected with her from the very first page.

Now when you put the two of them together? Instant fireworks. Ace essentially kidnaps Birdie and keeps her on lockdown for her own protection. But there’s plenty of secrets that Birdie has that throw a few wrenches in those plans. There’s so much that happens here that I can’t even begin to describe nor do I want to, because you simply must experience it.

But what I’ll tell you is that it’s action packed and quick paced and darkly spell bounding. It was a page turner from beginning to finish. The chemistry between Ace and Birdie is incendiary. i couldn’t get enough of the two of them together and the author did an incredible job with the pacing and the development of their relationship. It was perfect. In short, I fucking LOVED this book!
Zavarelli is a USA Today and Amazon bestselling author.

MOTORCYCLE MAN (Dream Man Series #4) by Kristen Ashley- Jenn’s pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“You have no clue,” he whispered.
“No clue about what?” I whispered back.
“What you handed me last night.”
I took in a deep breath and asked softly, “What did I hand you, honey?”
“What’s lyin’ in that bed.”
That was when I stopped breathing.
“I claimed it,” he went on. “But last night you gave it to me. Gift’s given, no takin’ it back. You get that, Tyra?”
“I think so,” I whispered.
“Get that, baby, it’s important.”

Are you serious? Do I have to spell it out for you? Kristen. Ashley. This is THE book that took my Motorcycle Club virginity, and it felt good. I didn’t even cry. If you haven’t read this book, then we probably aren’t friends. Ok, I’ll let you off the hook a little bit. If you haven’t at least heard of this book, then we probably aren’t friends, and you randomly stumbled onto this blog. Because let’s be honest, every romance reader should have at least heard of Kristen Ashley. This is technically the 4th book in the Dream Man series, so if you are OCD, start with the first book in the series, Dream Man (not an MC).

OWN THE WIND (Chaos Series #1) by Kristen Ashley – Jenn’s pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

I never dreamed any fuckin’ dream,” he whispered, and the smile faded from her face as tears filled her eyes.
She understood him.
“Shy-”
“Didn’t dream it, saw it, waited my time, and then you gave it to me.

I chose to separate this from Motorcycle Man because although it technically is the sequel, it’s a spin-off, and deserves a blurb of its own. This series is not over. Kristen has announced that a novella and full novel in this series will be released in 2018, and I am over-the-moon excited. It’s been way too long since I’ve dipped into this series, and my toes are way too dry.

WALK THROUGH FIRE (Chaos #3) by Kristen Ashley – Lana’s pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“I’m done walking through fire for you, High! … I’m done not because I’m done but because there’s nothing left of me to burn. You have it all. You’ve always had it all! I gave up everything so you can have it all! Please! God! Leave me to my nothing.”

ALL OF THE FEELS! OMG! ALL OF THEM!

This book! I love a second chance romance, and this one just hit ALL of my checkboxes. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve re-read it (*cough* 5 *cough*), this quote has me in hysterical tears every single time. EVERY TIME. The emotion of this story is such a deep and memorable one, I will never get over it. I loved and I mean LOVED Millie and High’s long and hard deserved road to a HEA.

FEARLESS (Dartmoor Series #1) by Lauren Gilley – Jenn’s pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“Never before had he said such long strings of sentences in French before, like he did now. In the sheltering dark, his thrusts were slow, deep, sure, his hands digging bruises into her hips, the French rolling in thick purrs off his tongue; she had the impression it was sexual, whatever he said, the way the words caressed and encouraged her.”

I know you’re wondering how many stars I rated this book, so I’ll tell you. ELEVENTY BILLION STARS. It’s a number specifically created for Lauren Gilley books. I will shout her name from the rooftops. Because the chick can write an intelligent motorcycle club book. And isn’t that what we all want in life?! I know I do. One of my good friends, Irene, got me hooked on Gilly, describing her writing as Motorcycle Club Literature, and that is exactly how it is!! I will forever be a Gilly fan, and if I ever meet her, she better get ready for a huge fan-girl moment. Her books are ginormous, but no one should care because her writing is BEAUTIFUL.

UNCONTROLLABLE TEMPTATIONS (Tempted Series #3) by Janine Infante Bosco – Jenn’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“In a world as dark as the one I live in, sometimes I can’t help but crave sunshine,” he said huskily.
Sunshine.
Me.

My newest favorite this year, and one of my top favorite on this list. For all of you OCD-ers out there, plug your ears because this isn’t the first book in the series….BUT it is the first MC book. The first two books are targeted to the Mafia side, but it’s like Janine started with Mafia and then wrote this book and refused to go back. And I am so glad. You can read my review on Goodreads because I can’t even begin to express MY LOVE for this book. Life Changing….literally…not figuratively. It changed my life. It’s a very personal review, but I would recommend this series anyway because Janine’s writing is amazing, and you need to read it.

DRIFTER (Nomad Series #1) by Janine Infante Bosco – Jenn’s Pick

“She isn’t the girl you nail down, she’s the one you watch fly, and if you’re lucky, you’re the bastard who gets to spread your wings alongside her.

I wanted to include this book because it is the spin-off of the first MC series that Janine wrote, but I would still suggest reading the first series first (this coming from a girl who doesn’t care about reading books in order). I love that she wrote a spin-off instead of trying to continue forever in the first series. It was worth it!

This nomad series picks up where the Tempted Series leaves off.

I swear Janine gets better and better with this entire story and the characters are unforgettable and her books are unputdownable.

REAPER’S PROPERTY (Reapers MC #1) by Joanna Wylde – Jenn’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

So why are you called Horse?”
“Cause I’m hung like one,” he replied, smirking.

If you haven’t heard of Joanna Wylde, you’ve been living under a rock. I remember first seeing this book getting lots of attention from my Goodreads friends, and I saw the cover, because I confess that I 100% judge a book by its cover, I was like “Really?” And the guy’s name is Horse? Come on. But I am so glad I gave in and finally read this first one. The covers looks a lot better than they used to. And I was not disappointed with Horse. Lol. Joanna has a way with her alpha males that makes me want to punch them and screw them at the same time….which is the perfect combination. I love her dual pov’s in each book, and there are plenty of Reapers to go around, ladies.

DEVIL’S GAME (Reapers MC #3) by Joanna Wylde- Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“How’s that, baby?” he asked, thumb starting to work my clit again. “Feel good being turned on by a Devil’s Jack?

While I’ve loved the entire Reapers series, Devil’s Game is definitely my top favorite. It has that Romeo and Juliet feel to it. Daughter of the Reapers MC president falling for a rival MC member? YUM!

This book also had to have had, hands down, THE best heroine in the series.  Em was the shit! I had hoped that she would bring her A game considering she’s the darling daughter of Picnic, the MC president. She grew up in the life, she better be kick ass. But I also had my reservations considering how passive she’s been, particularly with her father’s rules in the previous two books. It’s safe to say that not only did Em meet all my expectations, she blew them out of the fucking water. I shit you not, people. Girl not only had a backbone, but knew how to kick ass and take names…poor Hunter’s balls not excluded

SILVER BASTARD (Silver Valley #1) by Joanna Wylde- Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“The man was my personal North Atlantic iceberg, lurking under the cold waters, just waiting to shred me wide open.
Fucking biker.

Ladies and ovaries, prepare to meet the bane of your existence (I’ll explain) and the object of your upcoming pervy dreams, Puck Redhouse. So why bane of existence? Because I honestly thought that my poor ovaries would die a slow and painful death by sexual frustration for a good 60% of this book. But damn, what a way to go. Joanna knows how to give good sexual tension. OH MY GAWD, the sexual tension! It burned with the fire of a thousand venereal diseases, I tells ya. Not that I know what that feels like, but I’d guess it would be like that. Just saying. Moving on…

This is a Reaper’s spin-off and book one in the series. Even though this focuses on Silver Bastard’s territory, we do get a peak at all our favorite characters from Joanna’s other series. There’s Picnic, Horse and of course Painter.

UNDENIABLE (Undeniable Series #1) by Madeleine Sheehan – Jenn’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“Name’s Deuce sweetheart. My old man here is Reaper. It was nice talkin’ with ya.”
She put her tiny hand in his and he squeezed.
“Eva,” she whispered. “That’s my name and it was so, so great to meet you too.”
He smiled.
She smiled.
The rest is f*ckin’ history.

Madeleine and I have a lot of history. Ok, maybe only in my head. I adoooored the first 4 books in this series. Madeline has the ability to make me hold my breath the whole way through a book. The violence. The DRAMA. I can’t get enough. Well, apparently I can. There is a big mystery as to why it took 3 years for her to write the 5th book in the series, and it’s not really in chronological order. Maybe it was a personal reason. Maybe it wasn’t. Maybe it’s none of our business. I’ve heard that the 5th book is amazing. So maybe one day I will crawl off my high horse and read it because I’m a sucker. Despite ALL of this, I can’t deny that she is a fantastic writer. Hence, this recommendation.

UNBEAUTIFULLY (Undeniable #2) by Madeline Sheehan – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“Baby,” he said gruffly. “Man like me got no business with a girl like you. You’re nothin’ but a fuckin’ beauty and I’m a while lot of fuckin’ ugly who’s already halfway to hell.

Rip my heart out why don’t ya, Madeline?!! Ripper and Danny’s story was heartbreaking, heart-wrenching, beautiful, real, gritty, dark, emotional, and absolutely, completely, utterly unputdownable!

“Ours was the furthest thing from a picture-perfect romance; it was more of a car crash, a metal-bending, blood-splattered disaster that left no survivors, only bad memories and heartache.
But it was ours.
And because it was ours…I wouldn’t change a thing.

The first book in this series absolutely gutted me. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I loved absolutely every single painful moment of it. But at the end I was left feeling…like I needed something…something more. It felt like the story wasn’t finished.

After reading this book, I now know why. The story continues on through the series, and even though we had a HEA in the 1st book, the characters get revisited, and I loved that.

If I loved the first book, I am simply at a loss for words to describe how I felt about this one. I feel like nothing I have will do it justice.

NINE MINUTES (Nine Minutes #1) by Beth Flynn – Jenn’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“A story about a man who has loved me from the very beginning, from the first glance. The man who always was and still is my soul mate. That’s the only love story now.”

It’s hard to describe this book without scaring you. It’s definitely the darkest MC book on this list. This book is a MF 1/2 = Mind Fuck and a Half. I haven’t read the sequel. I too skeered. This book scared the Jezebel out of me. And I don’t think it was supposed to be scary.

I’ve met Beth Flynn and she is the last person I would have ever expected to write this book. She is the sweetest lady, but her mind is crazy town, and I like it. If you have any triggers at all, you shouldn’t read this book. But if you have a fucked up mind like me and love to torture yourself for funzies, then you should read this book.

NOWHERE BUT HERE (Thunder Road Series #1) by Katie McGarry – Jenn’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“You’re beautiful,” I say, and the honesty of my words stings. “You’re beautiful inside and out. I like how you challenge me. I like how I can never figure out what you’re going to do or say. I like how we’ve thrown weird shit in your direction and you take it like a pro.”
I cup her face with one hand and caress her soft skin. “I like how you smile and how you laugh. I like how you love and defend your family and I like how you’re trying to love mine. I love how you trust. But mostly, Emily, I like how I feel when I’m around you.”
Shit. My heart bursts as the words tumble out. “I’m falling for you.”

If anyone can write a Young Adult MC Romance, it’s Katie Mc-fucking-Garry. She is the perfect author for this, and I am so glad that she chose to do it. Because it is flawless. With all of the violence and sex and just downright MC-ness, you would think that a YA MC Romance just wouldn’t be possible, but Katie gave us the middle finger and wrote this series that blew my mind. She is the queen of YA in so many ways. I mean, every YA comes with some angst, which isn’t always my favorite. But Katie includes just the right about the angst that it isn’t too soft…it isn’t too hard…it’s juuuuust right.

It Ain’t Me, Babe (Hades Hangmen Series #1) by Tillie Cole- Jenn’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“I have only ever liked one boy in my life. I have only wanted one man to have as my own. I have only ever had one dream since I was eight. Styx, the dream is you. You stole my heart fifteen yes ago and you still haven’t given it back.”

All the Angst. If you love angst, then you’ll love the crackers out of Tillie Cole. This MC Series also has a twisty cult tie-in, which is one of my no-goes, so that is the only reason why I couldn’t read this series. Every single other person has loved it, so I am definitely recommending it.

“I thought you said, ‘it ain’t you who’s meant for me?”

He laughed. He rarely laughed, but when he did, I rejoiced at the sound of it: husky, deep…male. “Oh, it’s me, babe…Ain’t no other man for you…but me.”

BURN DOWN THE NIGHT (Everything I Left Unsaid #3) by Molly O’Keefe – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

You want to fuck, let’s do it. Let’s burn down the fucking place. We got that in us…between us. But when it’s over…all I’ll leave you are bruises.”

If I had a dollar for every time I read about an anti-hero that falls head over balls for the heroine and all of a sudden his switch is flipped form bad to good faster than you can say “golden vag”, I could happily retire in my land of many books. So when I first met Max as the baddie MC prez brother of Dylan in The Truth About Him suffice it to say I was intrigued. Then when Joan carted him off wounded and passed out in her car in the end of that book, suffice it to say I was ready to sell an ovary to get my hands on his book. But I was also fearful that it would be another one of those books that I mentioned above. Joan was an interesting character to say the least in the first two books and I was beyond curious how these two very broken people would fit together. I wasn’t sure what I expected when I started Burn Down The Night, but I can tell you that I certainly didn’t expect it to absolutely blow me away. (Pun definitely intended).

SINNER’S CREED (Sinner’s Creed Series #1) by Kim Jones – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“I was the demon-possessed monster and she was the innocent, naïve angel. But none of that matters. She asks, I give and right now, I’ll kill anyone who tries to stop me from giving this woman what she wants—me.”

Have you ever read a book that touched you on such a visceral level you almost felt like you were living it along with the characters. Where you felt every emotion, every painful revelation, every bruise and emotional scar? A book that gutted you and at the same time you can’t stop thinking about? A book that you just know will stay with you for a long while yet? Sinner’s Creed was that book to me.

Sinner’s Creed is unlike any other MC romance I’ve read in a long time, if ever. And that’s saying a lot considering just how many books I’ve read in this genre. It’s a gritty, unapologetic and violent. It’s authentic and emotion and real. It’s absolutely fucking gut wrenching. Kim Jones brought her A-game with this one and you can feel it on every page. I have a feeling this will be the book I compare all other MC books to. Is it a romance? At it’s core, yes. But it’s so much more than that….

What sets it apart is it’s told entirely in Dirk’s POV. The readers will get a front row seat into the mind of a truly broken man…and learn to love him for it.

CLUBWHORE (Devil’s Renegade MC #1) by Kim Jones- Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

So keep your morals. Stay at your nine to five. Judge me through your rose-colored glasses. View my lifestyle choices however you want. But if being classified as a whore is the only penance I have to pay to feel this good, then stitch an A on my chest. Carve a W on my forehead. Put a label on me to make yourself feel better. Because the reality is, I just don’t give a damn what you think.

Know what I enjoy about this author? She’s not afraid to go there and can write one hell of a fucked up tale and I happen to like it verra much. See, I have a thing for unconventional characters, and when I read the synopsis for Clubwhore, I knew I had to read it. In a sea of cookie cutter heroines, Delilah was a breath of fresh air. She makes no apologies for who she is. She embraces it fully. She loves the MC life, they’re her family and she’ll do anything for them. But while the other ‘clubwhores’ have their eyes on a patch and being someone’s old lady, Delilah wants none of that. She’s happy to have a different man warm her bed each night and promise her nothing in the morning. But there’s also a good reason for why she is the way she is. Sex is her escape, but she craves something much darker too. It’s her dirty secret and her penance. She knows that no man can satisfy her deepest darkest urges…until him.

TANK (Savage Saints MC #2) by Carmen Jenner – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

That’s the thing about the broken ones- they’re never too far beyond repair, even though it might seem that way. They just need a little glue and the right pair of hands to stick ’em back together.

After reading Kick, I already knew that Carmen’s Savage Saints MC series was not for the faint of heart. Lucky for me I tend to lean towards those gritty, utterly fucked up reads. After reading her warning in Tank, I wish I can tell you that it prepared me for what was to come in this book. But here’s the thing, nothing and I mean nothing could have prepared me for what this story did to me. NOTHING. If you think Kick was hard to read, think again, because Tank will break you. Have you ever read a book with your heart in your throat and your stomach in knots the entire time? I’m talking until the last fucking page here. This book owned me. It was devastatingly emotional, gritty as fuck, and harder to swallow than a shards of glass. It was simply fan-fucking-tastic!

REBEL (Dead Man’s Ink #1) by Callie Hart – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“You believe in vengeance?”
“You mean like revenge?”
He shakes his head. “Revenge is a selfish act. Retaliation for something. Vengeance is a different thing altogether. It’s about obtaining justice, usually for someone who can’t claim it for themselves.”

After the tiny peak that we get in the Blood & Roses series, you already knew that this was going to be something amazingly good. And if you haven’t yet read the Blood & Roses series, don’t worry, because you can easily start with this book first.

This is a continuing story arc that will have 2 additional parts, so it does end on a cliffhanger. However as interesting as the cliffy was, it wasn’t that bad because it’s more of a plot cliffy than a relationship one. If you were a fan of the Blood and Roses series, then this book is a must read. And if you haven’t yet discovered this fantastic author, there’s no better book to start with than this one. I can’t wait to see where Sophia and Rebel’s story will lead to next. All I can say is that the set up sounds absolutely delicious.

RUIN & RULE (Ruin & Rule #2) by Pepper Winters – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

We met in a nightmare, loved in a prayer. We gave everything until both were laid bare.

You know that moment when you pick up a book and you know, you just know that it’s going to be one of those books. A book that will keep you up until the crack of dawn reading. A book that you’d pass on food and sleep to read even if you’ll be a grumpy zombie the entire day. A book that will make your employees think you have a bladder infection because you take so many “bathroom breaks”. What? Too far.

When Pepper first introduced Author “Kill” Killian in Third Debt I was absolutely hooked. I knew that I’d beg, cry, and/or sell an ovary for his story. There was just something so devastatingly broken about him and if anyone knows how to write the broken and broody heroes, it’s this author. Kill was such a multifaceted character, he practically leapt off the pages. There’s this barely restrained violence to him along with something so completely broken and painful that you can’t help but fall head over heels for him right way, right or wrong.

MOVE THE SUN (Signal Bend series #1) by Susan Fanetti – Lana’s pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“I love you, Sport. You’re it for me. You fill up a space in me I didn’t even know was empty.”

I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’m a sucker for a good biker book, and the good ones are few and far between. There’s a lot of imitation and lackluster reads, so I’ve stopped getting my hopes up when reading a new MC series.

This is why this book came as such a pleasant surprise, considering I got it as an Amazon freebie back in December. I got my biker fix, and a verra steamy one at that.

I loved how kick-ass the heroine was, it’s not often that’s done right. The sex scenes were plenty and smoking hot, and the story gripped me from the prologue. This whole series is fantastic (book 2: Behold The Stars and 3: Into The Storm being my absolute favorite that one.

SEVEN SONS (Gypsy Brothers #1) by Lili St. Germain – Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“Confucius said, “Before embarking upon a journey of revenge, dig two graves.” I planned to dig seven.”

Sweet baby jebus. This series! It was one fucked up, gritty, violent, and totally addicting 7 book read. I was blown away by this debut series from Lili and became an insta fan of hers immediately after book one. Let me warn you, though. This series is NOT for the faint of heart. It’s dark and takes you into the violent and unapologetic underbelly of an MC and vengeance. It spares no detail and hits you where it hurts the most. These books are not meant to be read as standalones. You have to read them in order, and since they’re all out, prepare to binge. Though depending on your tolerance for dark reads, you may need to pace yourself, because I’m not kidding when I tell you just how dark this dark romance is. It’s also incredibly good and utterly unforgettable!

WELCOME TO SUGARTOWN (Sugartown #1) by Carmen Jenner- Lana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

“From the day we’re born to the day we die, we fucking hurt and we cry and we pick ourselves up and, if we’re really lucky, we have people to help us pick up the fucking pieces”

If you’re looking for a light and slightly angsty NA book, this is not it my friends. What it was, was a dark, angsty, slightly intense at times ride…and I loved it.

I liked the heroine, Ana, right off the bat. She’s funny, sassy, and her relationship with her BFF and raging nyphomaniac Holly had me cracking up for most of the book.

“Okay, okay, okay. Knickers?”
“The white G-string you helped me pick out.”
“White? That’s good. Virginal. He’ll be reminded this is a first for you and hopefully won’t just impale you on his pork sword.

And the hero? A tatted dirty talking wet dream!

CRAVING CONSTELLATIONS (The Aces Series #1) by Nicole JacquelynLana’s Pick
GOODREADS | AMAZON

He was like a wounded animal, and I was the hunter who’d wounded him. I didn’t know if he would ever forgive me.

I went into this book with absolutely zero expectations. I’m a sucker for MC books, but after a recent string of very mediocre reads, I wasn’t expecting much from a debut novel.

Holy shit was I wrong. This book blew me away! It was raw, gritty, painful, emotional, dark, passionate, and unputdownable until the very last page.

Nicole Jacquelyn took two imperfect and fucked up characters and wrote them in such a way that you just couldn’t help but love them.

I am not typically a fan of heroines that are overly emotional but yet I felt for Brenna. Her life hasn’t been an easy one, and although she has made some mistakes she still struggles to bring back the strong woman that she once was. She left behind her life because she didn’t want to be the old lady on the sidelines while her man came home smelling like club whores. Dragon may not be perfect, but the magnetic pull between them is impossible for her to deny.

Welp, that’s it for the list. Loved it? Tell me in comments! Did I miss one of your favorites? Tell me about it in comments! I love to hear from you all, so don’t be shy <3

Till next time, dirty birds!

Excerpt & Review: Rome’s Chance by Joanna Wylde

ROME’S CHANCE
Series: Reapers MC #6.6
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Author: Joanna Wylde
Release Date: April 24, 2018

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series…

Rome McGuire knew he was in trouble the first time he saw her.

She was sweet and pretty and just about perfect in every way. She was also too young and innocent for the Reapers Motorcycle Club. He did the right thing, and walked away.

The second time, he couldn’t resist tasting her.

Gorgeous and smart, fun and full of wonder, she jumped on his bike and would’ve followed him anywhere. Still, she deserved a shot at happiness somewhere bigger and better than a town like Hallies Falls. Walking away wasn’t so easy that time, but her family needed her and he had a job to do.

When she came around a third time, he’d had enough. Randi Whittaker had been given two chances to escape, and now it was time for Rome to take his.

This time, the only way Randi would be leaving Hallies Falls was on the back of Rome’s bike.

AMAZON

Chemistry.

This was pure chemistry, and we’d had it from the very first. Our eyes had met across that keg and it was all over… Now Rome’s eyes found mine again, and that same spark I was feeling flared in their depths.

“F*ck, you’re beautiful,” he said, his face softening. I blinked, every bit as mesmerized as I’d felt at the grocery store. He leaned forward, still sitting on the bike, and caught my hand, pulling me toward him. “I’m gonna kiss you.”

“Yes, please,” I whispered, brain fully disengaged. His hand came up and caught the back of my head, then our lips met and I died a little.

He’d kissed me twice before, years ago. Those kisses had been soft. Devastating and intense, but very gentle. Sweet.

This was totally different. This came hard and fast, his mouth overwhelming mine with a powerful, masculine hunger I hadn’t expected. His tongue thrust against the seam of my lips, and when I didn’t immediately open, his teeth followed, nipping just enough to startle me. I gasped, and then he was inside.

There was nothing sweet about him right now.

Rome’s hand twisted in my hair, holding my head captive as his tongue pushed inside my mouth. Fire exploded through me, a deep well of heat settling between my legs. My hands reached up to catch his shoulders and then I was all in, giving as good as he gave me.

His other arm came around my waist, crushing me against him. This wasn’t nearly as awkward as it should’ve been, considering he was still on the bike. Maybe we could just skip dinner. Go straight to the fun part of the date…

A loud honking and the sound of someone screaming “Wooohooo!” from a passing car jolted me out of the moment. I pushed against his shoulders. Rome let me step back, although he kept his arm around my body. His eyes were smoky with lust, and I thought I saw the hint of a flush showing underneath the tan of his cheeks.

Yup, the feeling was definitely mutual.

This isn’t about getting laid, Randi. I just want it clear—I’m staking my claim. I missed out the first time we met. I won’t let it happen again.”

Man but does it feel good to be back in Wylde’s Reapers MC world. And while this novella is set in the series, you can easily read it as a standalone. While you do see some cameos from earlier books, it’s not too engrained in the the MC world, so you don’t miss many nuances not having read the books. Though, I’d still highly recommend them simply because they’re awesome! But I digress.

Rome’s Chance is set several years after the events in Reaper’s Fire. The first time Randi and Rome meet, he was only a prospect for the club and she was too sweet and innocent for him. The fires tearing through their town took the majority of his attention. But when they run into each other again, he knows he’s not letting her a second time. He’s ready to stake his claim, whether she is or not.

Chemistry. Pure chemistry. I’d felt it when he’d kissed me. I’d known we’d be incredible together. But Rome wanted more than sex—he wanted me. Whatever this was, it was just the beginning.

Randi has always been the caretaker of her family. With a mother that never took her responsibilities seriously, she’s been taking care of her younger siblings. Now back in town to take care of her ailing mother, she doesn’t think she’ll be sticking around for long. But Rome changes everything. Even if she tries to fight things between them.

Rome’s Chance was a quick albeit an entirely satisfying read full of chemistry and heat. It hit the spot just write and whet my appetite for more Reapers. If you’re looking for a sexy novella to spend a weekend afternoon with, look no further!

Janine’s books have my heart by the balls….if my heart had balls…you know what mean.

So, me and Janine were talking the other day over a glass of wine. Well, Janine wasn’t there, but my kindle was…same thing. And Janine was like, “Hey, girl! I’m gonna make you cry your eyes out!” and I was like, “Girl, nah uh!” and then she was like, “Cry, Bitch!” and I was like, “Leave me, alone, Janine!”…and then I’m already crying by 10%. I am NOT a girl who likes to read sad books. I wouldn’t call her books sad. I would call them REAL. She always includes some type of real issue, and it doesn’t matter what “issue” she is including in the story, she always pulls and pulls until my heart breaks from her words alone.

Pipe is struck with tragedy several books ago, in the worst way. He already didn’t have a shiny life before, but he was given a glimpse of happy before another tragedy. He’s known way too much loss for one person. He escapes and leaves the only family he’s ever know. Who can blame him? He lost everything. He is a broken man who has no idea how to deal.Layla. She is a single mother of three. These kids. Love ‘em. I’m super picky about kids in books, and these kids had so much character and were essential in pulling Pipe from the ruins. Layla is also just trying to get through each day. She has been through a not-so-great marriage which ended in divorce. Bitter against all men, she is not ready for Pipe….at all.

Pipe and Layla are neighbors who hate each other (love this trope!). Neither of them are in a good place. They are just trying to stumble through life. Layla has a few more smiles left, so she isn’t afraid to give those smiles out to those who deserve them, and Pipe starts to crave her smiles. When Pipe rescues her and the kids from a couple of household disasters, the ice begins to thaw between Pipe & Layla. They eventually find solace in each other in the form of hot, crazy sex (yes, please!), forgetting their issues for even a brief amount of time. The only way to describe how Janine’s books make me feel is by sharing this memory. One of my favorite memories that will stay with me forever…I was on the back of my Dad’s Harley. We were riding in the dark on the way home from an outside concert at a winery, and we were listening to one of our favorite songs. At the time, we thought my dad had cancer. Little did we know a couple weeks later, we would find out that by a miracle, he did not have cancer. Anywho, the wind was in my hair. The rumble of the motorcycle beneath me. The stars above me. This memory is SO MUCH. And THAT feeling is Janine’s books.

Janine is THAT author. That author that you don’t know is AMAZING. That author who will make you FEEL. Will make you LIVE through her characters. Will make you CRY. Will make you LAUGH. And you will regret not reading Janine’s books. Don’t regret it. Read her books.

Thank you, Janine, for sharing a part of yourself in this book. I will never grow tired of your words. One day, I will hug you (maybe for an awkward amount of time) and thank you personally.

Janine Infante Bosco lives in New York City, she has always loved reading and writing. When she was thirteen, she began to write her own stories and her passion for writing took off as the years went on. At eighteen, she even wrote a full screenplay with dreams of one day becoming a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Janine writes emotionally charged novels with an emphasis on family bonds, strong-willed female characters, and alpha male men who will do anything for the women they love. She loves to interact with fans and fellow avid romance readers like herself.

She is proud of her success as an author and the friendships she’s made in the book community but her greatest accomplishment to date would be her two sons Joseph and Paul.

The best way to get over one man is to get under another.”

Well…that was smuttertaining. Smutty and entertaining. Totally coining that phrase.

If you haven’t read Clubwhore, I’m totally judging you right now. Seriously. You need to get on that. I seriously loved that book. But then again, I love any heroine that goes against the grain and the norm of the typical cookie cutter romance. But if you haven’t read it yet (I’m still judging you), no worries, because Patchwhore, while being part of the series is still a full standalone.

Carmen is a woman scorned. After finding out her boyfriend not only cheated on her but also left her for her sorority sister, she’s out for revenge. When she finds that he’s a now a patch holder at the local MC she decides the best revenge is to sleep with a brother of his…or all of them to really drive her point home. But then Mr. Delicious comes along and all her plans go up in flames just like her ovaries did.

Mr. Delicicous aka Cook aka a lowly prospect is everything she shouldn’t want. But everything about the man totally gets to her…and gets her off. She’s determined to follow through with her plan, and Cook is determined for another taste of her. Suffice it to say things get real interesting.

This was a super quick and highly entertaining read. Even though Carmen acted like a bitch in heat for a large chunk of the book I still loved her. She was entertaining to say the least. Cook was as fitting to her nickname for him as it gets. DELICIOUS. The man is hot as all hell and a dirty talker to boot. So why not rate higher? Well, I supposed it was just too much sex at times. As much as I loved Cook and Carmen together, I would have loved more development for them aside from all of the sex they were having. God. I can’t even believe I’m complaining about this right now. I feel like I should get my pervert card taken away. But it is what it is.

If you’re looking for a dirty and smutty romance, this will pertainly hit the spot. Is it your typical MC romance, not quite. It’s more of a MC romp. But this girl does love her romps, so I can’t complain much. *pervy grin*
