***Author’s note*** Sweet Obsession can be read as a standalone novel.
Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She’s not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. So when she meets the sexy, irresistible Mason King, she sees another opportunity to let loose and go wild. But the gorgeous Aussie isn’t interested in just a quick fling with Brooke, and if she wants to get into his bed, she’s going to have to do it on his terms.
Loving fast and hard has always been Mason’s philosophy. He doesn’t want a meaningless connection, he wants it all, and he wants it with Brooke. When she makes her one desire known—to hit it and quit it—Mason wages a plan to ensure Brooke keeps coming back for more. Or so he hopes.
Getting her attention was the easy part. Keeping it might be damn near impossible.
Sweet Obsession is where the Sweet Addiction series meets the Alabama Summer series.
With a strangled cry, we fall, words and moans blending into the night. It’s hot and filthy, and so profoundly intimate…
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with all things J. Daniels (see what I did there?) and for damn good reason too. The woman never fails to serve up a hero that is guaranteed to make me pant and drool over. Ever since Mason was first introduced in All I Want, I’ve been obsessively stalking patiently waiting for his book. Can you blame me? He’s a sex on a stick Aussie, yeah?
Now here’s the thing, I’m one of those, what do you call it? Heroine haters. Yep. I’m a picky bitch when it comes to them and I’m not sorry. So when J gave me a heroine with no sexual inhibitions that has no qualms about getting what she wants and makes no excuses or apologies for it? Oh I am beyond sold. In a world of virgins, Brooke was a breath of fresh air.
When was your last actual boyfriend, Brooke? College?”
“High school…I played the field in college. Literally. I think I was one defender short of bedding the entire lacrosse team.
Between her inner monologue and banter with Joey, Billy and Dylan, Sweet Obsession brought some major LOLs which is what I’ve come to associate with this author. She just has this perfect combination of sweet and sexy with laugh out loud funny. I can’t get enough of it.
Brooke is not about the boyfriend thing. She’s gets what she needs and she moves on, until a certain yoga instructor sets up a studio across from the bakery she works at and tilts her world upside down.
Mason isn’t about playing the field. He moved all the way to Chicago to follow his dream of owning his yoga studio and he doesn’t want a meaningless one night stand. When a gorgeous brunette unashamedly flirts with him, he knows he wants her….but on his terms. He wants a connection and a relationship and he’ll settle for nothing else and so he sets about doing just that. What follows is some of the most painful sexual frustration that I have ever felt in my life. I’m talking blue ovaries kind of pain here, people! But man did it hurt so good. I love the way the author stayed true to her characters and their relationship by really making that sexual tension burn. She didn’t throw them into bed together right away and I thoroughly appreciated it. I loved watching Mason slowly and systematically break down all of Brooke’s barriers and carefully constructed walls. It was utterly delicious, even if I did feel like my poor ovaries may combust in the process. It was certainly worth the wait.
I want to absorb him, every flavor of Mason. His sweetness and his ferocity. The gentle planes and sharp, savage angles of his passion.
I loved pretty much everything about this book. And J saves a special treat for Sweet Addiction fans at the end that you’ll MORE than appreciate. It was like the cherry on top. So good.
What I’ve come to love about her writing is her consistency. Her book ALWAYS deliver on their deliciously sexy promise AND they only get better with each new book. It’s not often you’ll read an author whose craft actually gets better and you can see the growth with every book. Having read her entire backlist, I can truly attest to that. The woman rocks my socks.
My only minor quibble is I did wish for a little more explanation on Brooke’s commitment phobia. While I can understand her hit ’em and quit ’em policy, it seemed like there should be a reason that the mere thought of a relationship and utter of the word ‘boyfriend’ sends her to the local liquor store in a panic would need some sort of reason. But that’s just me being the picky bitch that I am. Perhaps that would have also better explained the major conflict at the end as well. As it was I felt it kind of came out of left field for me; considering that Mason knew exactly how Brooke was when he started pursuing her. So his reaction seemed almost out of character. But that was mainly a blimp on the perfection of the book as a whole, so I barely batted an eyelash at it.
I enjoyed the absolute fuck out of this book. I couldn’t put it down. It made me laugh, it made me swoon, and as always it left me wanting even more. If you haven’t discovered this fabulous author yet, she needs to be on your must read. Sweet Obsession is a book you don’t want to miss 😉
ALABAMA SUMMER SERIES
J. Daniels is the NY Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Sweet Addiction series, and the Alabama Summer series. She loves curling up with a good book, drinking a ridiculous amount of coffee, and writing stories her children will never read.
J grew up in Baltimore and resides in Maryland with her family.

With a strangled cry, we fall, words and moans blending into the night. It’s hot and filthy, and so profoundly intimate…

The highly anticipated conclusion to an addicting series is here and boy did it end with a bang. Pun most definitely intended. You know what I love? When a series is perfectly wrapped up with a great conclusion without being cheesy and that’s exactly what I loved about the third and final volume of A Desperate Man. We first met Evan in
Evan and Reagan have been through quite a lot through the series, all of it leading up to the huge bomb of a reveal that these devious authors dropped on us at the end of volume two. And Volume three picks up right where that left off; in the aftermath of Reagan’s…lie…and leaving both of them to deal with the ever growing passion that continues to brew between them, even if it may be slightly clouded by snark and barbs every now and then.
But it never loses the spark either 😉

It felt good to give in, to surrender. He rewarded her with more pleasure. Sex with him felt like embracing a thunderstorm, riding a wild bronc.

What an incredibly bittersweet book this was for me to read. I first discovered this amazing series back in 2012 when I read

You know how I was sure I had a 5 star read on my hands? I didn’t skim even one page. Not. A. One. Not any of the descriptions of the clothes, the furniture, the rooms, the clouds in the sky, nothing. I was enthralled in the characters and their romance from beginning to end and absolutely devoured every page.

Here’s the thing, you’re pretty much know exactly what you’re going to get with a Lora Leigh novel. No deviation. Lather, rinse and repeat, all her books follow practically the same formula. But there’s just something about her alphas; those crazy possessive and jealous, dirty talking and revenues heroes that just do it for me and keeps me coming back for more. Even if the story falls flat, I still enjoy the read for that reason alone. She’s my go-to when I need a good dose of uber alphas. Plus considering she was the very first erotic romance I had ever read, I suppose I have a a little nostalgia with her romances. Yes the formula is always the same; uber alpha and a sassy heroine that fights her obvious attraction to him at every corner, but in the case here…it worked for me.
Wicked Lies is book two in her Men of Summer series but it can easily be read as a standalone. I read book one years ago and remember a sum all of nothing and had no problem following the story here. Though I had a little trouble getting into the book in the first 25%, it did flow very well after that.

Before I get to my review, let me get a few things out of the way with first.
The first half of the book is very much a slow burn, but it never drags. The angst and emotions truly have you riveted to the pages, it certainly did for me. My heart broke for Ransom and yet in the same breath I wanted to curse him to hell and back for his behavior. It was frustrating, it was maddening, it was disturbingly enrapturing.
I don’t want to give much away about the book because it’s just one of those things you need to experience for yourself. What I can say is I loved the route that Eden took with book and I was shocked as shit about it that I was. See, here’s the thing, I HATE a drawn out story that I think could have ended in one book. Cliffhangers drive me to drink and induce near homicidal thoughts when I finish reading it. Thick Love is part 1 of 2 books, and you know what? It’s best that way. This book was not about the epic love between Aly and Ransom. It was more about Ransom coming to terms with his guilt, healing his heart, and learning to move on. Both these characters have a lot of growing to do still and there’s no way this book would have been the same had it been all crammed into one book.
As much as the bumps on the road to Aly and Ransom’s relationship drove me out of my ever loving mind, it also made me feel. This entire book, everything about it will do one thing, guaranteed; evoke emotion. Whether that be rage, tears, it will make you feel.

No one, and I mean no one gives male POV quite like Emma Chase. The woman is the queen of male POVs and nothing beats her. While Drew from
Don’t get me wrong, both Chelsea and Jake are far from perfect and I wanted to shake them for their stupidity more than a few times. But at the same time it just worked. I adored these two together. It wasn’t instant and I loved the burn of their sexual chemistry until they finally ignited together.

I love a steamy New Adult romance and I love Tessa Bailey. Add into all that her gift for writing alpha men that I pretty much drool over and it’s really a no brainer. Having not read the previous two books in this series, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. That synopsis ultimately sealed the deal. Construction worker? Friends-to-lovers? Tessa’s dirty talkers? SOLD!
Russell Hart has been in love with Abby since he first saw her on her front porch all those months ago. Being her best friend has been a special kind of hell for him, especially since her innocent naivety towards all the dirty dirty things he wants to do to her does nothing to diminish his lust. He wants her with a fire that only burns brighter and hotter with each passing day, but he knows that the likes of him will never be good enough for her. Her family can buy anything he owns three times over, how can he possibly provide her with the life that she’s accustomed to?
As much as Russell frustrated me with his thought process, his insecurities were rooted in a very dark place and the more you find out about that, the better you understand him. I equal parts wanted to slap him and hug him…(and definitely do him because HELLO dirty talker!)

I’m not typically a fan of Domme heroines, but when it’s Cherise Sinclair writing it, it’d be a sin for me not to at least attempt it. Well imagine my shock that I can now say that this may have easily been my favorite Shadowlands book yet. Of course it figures that it would be this author that will not only make fall in love with the story and the characters but also appreciate a strong Domme. If you’re on the fence about reading it, you need to jump off the damn fence and READ IT…or else deVries will come and spank you. Trust me when I tell you that you will to be left disappointed.
As far as Anne goes, well it doesn’t get more kick-ass than her. A fugitive recovery agent by day, this is a woman that knows how to throw a punch to fall a man twice her size. This is not only a woman that makes men shrivel in fear in the dungeon, she certainly handles her own outside of it. What I really loved about her is the vulnerability that was so evident about her. I think that’s what truly made her as endearing as she was. And the fact that Ben saw it and did everything to try and shelter her made me fall for him even more.
