Friend and Lover

Past and Future

Ellie McCallum and Flynn Hendrick’s story was as painful as it was devastating. But they were able to find within each other an unlikely yet beautiful love. Despite the obstacles that tried to keep them apart.

And together they rose out of the ashes of their tragic history.

Now years after their life changing reunion Ellie is back in Wellston, having just graduated from college and ready to start her future with the man who taught her how to love. However, returning to a town that held so much bitterness and anger was the last place she wanted to start over.

But for Flynn, who is now an art professor at the community college and firmly rooted in the place that gave them their beginning, she’d do just about anything.

Yet it’s difficult building a life when you’ve only just learned how to live.

And love, no matter how strong, doesn’t always conquer all.

Ellie and Flynn must learn how far they are willing to go to stay together. Or whether the ghosts of the past will consume them both.

Because finding a happily ever after is harder than it seems. Particularly when you’re fighting against the one thing that could destroy you.

Yourself.

Don’t miss the book that started it all!
From the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of Find You in the Dark and Bad Rep comes a story of forgiveness, redemption and finding love in the most unlikely of places.

*THIS IS A STANDALONE WITH NO CLIFFHANGER!*

Bully and victim.
Tormenter and tormented.
Villain and hero.

Ellie McCallum was a bully. No connection to anyone or anything. A sad and lonely existence for a young woman who had come to expect nothing more for herself. Her only happiness coming from making others miserable.

Particularly Freaky Flynn.

Flynn Hendrick lived a life completely disconnected even as he struggled to become something more than that boy with Asperger’s. He was taunted and teased, bearing the brunt of systematic and calculated cruelty, ultimately culminating in a catastrophic turn of events that brought Ellie and Flynn’s worlds crashing down.

But then Flynn and Ellie grew up.

And moved on.

Until years later when their paths unexpectedly cross again and the bully and the freak are face to face once more.

When labels come to define you, finding yourself feels impossible. Particularly for two people disconnected from the world who inexplicably find a connection in each other. And out of the wreckage of their tragic beginnings, an unlikely love story unfolds. But a painful past doesn’t always want to let go. And old wounds are never truly healed…and sometimes the further you try to run from yourself the closer you come to who you really are.

Teaser Tour & #Giveaway: ✩Barefoot in Pearls✩ by @roxannestclaire

Title: Barefoot in Pearls
The Barefoot Brides Trilogy #3
Author: Roxanne St. Claire
Release Date: January 30, 2015
Genre: Contemporary Romance
As her two best friends settle into their happily ever afters, destination wedding designer Arielle Chandler is beginning to wonder if the promise of “The One” – one true love, meant only for her – is merely folklore passed down from her Native American grandmother. But when a mysterious man nearly mows her down on a hill overlooking Barefoot Bay, the legend of destined love suddenly feels very real. That is, until Ari learns of Luke McBain’s plans to demolish a piece of land she believes is sacred.

Luke isn’t proud of the fact that he spent ten years as a mercenary warrior, fighting battles for another country. With those dark days behind him, he’s focused on creating a new life instead of destroying others, so he’s moved to Barefoot Bay to launch a contracting business and build a house for an old friend. But when an enigmatic dark-eyed beauty steals his attention and stops his progress with her announcement that he is about to flatten a native burial ground, Luke has a new battle to fight.

While their immediate and potent attraction grows complicated, Luke and Ari discover the hills of Barefoot Bay could be hiding something far different – and even more valuable – than ancient art or graves. They are determined to discover the truth, but that will come at a cost. Will they risk their chance at once-in-a-lifetime love to uncover secrets that could change the landscape of Barefoot Bay forever?

He wasn’t handsome, not in any conventional way. Just rough and dark with heavy whiskers over a jaw that looked like it might have met a few fists in its day. His nose was a little off center and maybe broken once or twice. His chest and shoulders dwarfed her, with no tattoos, no chest hair, just tanned, sweaty skin covering rolling, ripped muscles.

“Really sorry,” he said again. But he didn’t sound sorry, or look it, either. He scanned her face and made no effort to unlock his grip on her wrist.

She should yank free. She should step away. She should stop staring. She should…breathe.

But right that minute, bathed in sunlight and pinned by a green-gold gaze the color of oxidized copper, Ari Chandler couldn’t do any of those things. Because her whole body was kind of tingling and buzzing and sparking, like she’d just stuck her entire arm in an electrical socket.

“You sure you’re okay?” he asked. “’Cause you look like I rung your bell.”

He rang something. There was no other explanation for how lightheaded she suddenly felt.

“I…I’m…I think…” Words failed her. No chance of a coherent sentence.

His brows pulled into a frown as he gently turned her arm and placed a thumb over her pulse, which hit warp speed.

“Whoa. Your heart’s racing more than mine.” He started to lower her back to the ground. “Sit down. I have some water in my truck. Let me get it.”

“No, no, I’m fine.” But Ari let him guide her down, sitting as he crouched in front of her. “Who runs with their eyes closed?”

“I was trained that way.”

“For what? Suicide missions?”

“Something like that.” His voice, low and charged with mystery, sent another cascade of chills down her spine, a shocking feeling that had no place dancing over her in this heat and humidity.

“Really, what are you doing here?” she asked. “Not very many people on Mimosa Key even know how about this place.” Only dirt roads led to this acreage, which was marked at the perimeter as “Private Property.”

He glanced around. “I’m checking it out.”

“With your eyes closed?”

He almost smiled, just enough to show a hint of dimples and straight white teeth. Just enough to take the edge off his face and turn it into something arresting. She needed to look away, but all she could do was blink at the white lights flashing behind her eyes.

Had she hit her head or…or…oh, no. No.

“No,” she murmured. “No, this isn’t…you can’t be…no.” This wasn’t possible.

“No…what?” he asked, leaning in to get closer to her. “I can’t check the place out? I have the owner’s permission. Do you?”

But it was possible. He could be… No, that was her imagination, not the universe answering her plea. Right? “No,” she managed to say.

For one long, suspended second, the world around her crystallized, making her hyperaware of every color, scent, and sound. Everything was magnified. Like the slow roll of a bead of sweat trickling over a scar on his temple. And the flecks of color that somehow mixed to make his eyes a haunting blend of emerald and topaz. Even the timbre of his voice, baritone and sweet, and the rhythmic sound of his breaths as the run caught up with him. He smelled like sunshine and the sea, and his hand, still wrapped around her wrist, was like a hot brand of man against her skin.

Everything about him was…right.

“Miss?”

She tried to nod at him, letting the very real possibility of what was happening sink in.

“Hey.” He snapped his fingers in front of her face, making her jump. “Do you know your name?” he asked sharply.

“Arielle Chandler.”

“Place of birth?”

“Sacramento, California.”

“Husband’s name?”

“I don’t have one.”

His eyes flickered. “Phone number?”

She paused, but not because she couldn’t remember it. But because his smile went from almost to full force, and the impact actually hurt.

She could practically hear Grandma Good Bear on her deathbed describing exactly these feelings.

“No way!” She shook her head, still not believing it.

“Hey, it was worth a try.” Still smiling, he leaned back on his haunches. “Since you’re coherent enough to turn me down, I guess you’re okay, Arielle Chandler. In fact, you’re…” He let his gaze drop over her. “You’re fine.”

And every cell in her body just went numb.

The magnetic feeling I always felt when he was near pulled
me to him. Out of the corner of my eye, Gabriella watched on in amazement, but
I couldn’t focus on anyone other than my fighter; the one I loved, but left
because I was afraid. I slowly approached him, biting my lip to keep it from
trembling. He lifted his weights, one arm at a time, his muscles bulging with
each curl. Those arms used to hold me, but I was too stupid not to stay in
their warmth and protection.
“Ryley,” I murmured softly.
Either he didn’t want to acknowledge me or he couldn’t hear.
Even my own voice sounded foreign to my ears. Moving closer, I stood in front
of him and took a deep breath. “Ryley,” I repeated. “Can we talk?”Setting the
weights down, he lowered his head and balled his hands into tight fists. His
knuckles were torn wide open and all I wanted to do was touch him. Without
looking at me, he stood and towered over me, glancing around the room. He
looked at everything, but me.
“Let’s go,” he demanded.
Before following him to the back, I looked at Gabriella who
frowned and shook her head. This wasn’t going to be good. I felt like I was
being led to slaughter by the way everyone watched me with trepidation in their
eyes. All I wanted was for Ryley to look at me and listen to what I had to say.
However, with each step I took it felt more and more like the end.
Once we got to the back, Ryley opened the door to an empty
office and turned on the light. As soon as I walked in, he shut the door behind
us and locked it. I swallowed hard as he stood there, head down, body coiled
tighter than a snake’s. I wanted to go to him and wrap my arms around him, but
I was frozen. I wanted to hear him call me angel like he used to when we’d make
love.
“I went to your house this morning. Your brother wasn’t too
happy with me. Did he tell you I came by?”
He stiffened and sighed. “No.”
“I thought as much,” I whispered. “I guess I can’t blame
him.” Panic started to set in and I could feel the blood rushing to my head. I
felt nauseated and lightheaded, but I swallowed it back as hard as I could.
“I’m so sorry, Ryley. I never wanted to hurt you. But you have to know, there’s
nothing going on between me and Colin.”
He scoffed and leaned against the wall, looking at my feet.
“It didn’t look like that yesterday.”
“I know what it must’ve looked like and I know you don’t
trust me after everything I did, but you have to believe me. All I want is a
chance to prove it to you, to prove that—”
“To prove what?” he exploded, lifting his fiery gaze to mine
for the first time. My breath instantly left my lungs and I faltered, tears
welling in my eyes. “To prove that I can trust you? That you want to be with
me? How the fuck do you expect me to do that?”
Shaking my head, I found the courage to move forward, tears
falling down my cheeks. When I lifted my hands to his face, he turned his head,
the connection gone. “No, that’s not what I was going to say. I was going to
say that I love you. That I’ll do whatever it takes to prove it to you.”
For a second it seemed as if he was listening, but then he
jerked his face out of my hold and moved away. “I think you’re missing the
point. You see, I don’t want you back. I’m happy with the way things are.”
“Really?” I choked. “So you get to screw whoever you want and
party it up? Is that what makes you happy?”
Smirking, he shrugged his shoulders. “That’s just the way my
life is. You wouldn’t even want me back if you knew the things I’ve done since
you left.”

A FIGHTER’S DESIRE – PART ONE

Two is always better than one.
What would you do if you were given the chance to spend the night with not one, but two fighters? Would you do it? Could you open yourself up to the pleasures they offered and do exactly what they said in order to pass on to the next round?
It was common knowledge that Ryley and Camden Jameson, well-known MMA fighters and identical twins, were just as aggressive and passionate in the bed as they were in the ring. The only problem was that if you didn’t pass their test on the first night, then you didn’t proceed to the next round. They loved a good fight, and that’s what they got when they met Ashleigh Warren.
Ashleigh knew what was going to happen when the twins approached her with a proposition, and needless to say, she knew exactly how to handle them … or so she thought. The rules had changed, and in order to get them both she had to first spend one night with each and last until they were done with her. It was a proposition she couldn’t refuse, but she knew it wouldn’t be easy to win. However, it was one that she was going to enjoy.

However, she’s not the only one fighting temptation. Tyler Rushing can’t deny his attraction to her, but he’s afraid she’ll want more and he can’t give that to her. When he finds out that’s not the case … everything changes.

Disfigured Love

(18+ due to mature themes and sexual content)
Once unmasked, can beauty love the beast?
My name is Lena Seagull. I should still be in school, hanging out with friends, meeting boys, falling in love—just like you. But on my eighteenth birthday my father sold me. Now, those are yesterday’s dreams.
My home is a remote castle. And the man who owns me? I have never seen him.
Guy Hawk keeps his face hidden under a mask. At first, I knew only fear, but now his voice and touch make me unashamedly want him. Each night, his hired help blindfolds me, and takes me to his room. He whispers that I am beautiful and we have sex. It is wild and exciting, but when I awaken he is always gone.
He and his castle hold dark secrets that I must unravel, but what he fears most—being unmasked—is my deepest desire.
Will either of us survive the consequences of my desire?
Disfigured Love is a full-length standalone novel.
Disfigured Love
My name is not really Lena Seagull. Seagull is the nickname my father was given by those who knew him. While you were alive he would steal everything from you, and when you were dead he would steal even your eyeballs.
My first vivid memory is one of violence.
I was not yet five years old and I had disobeyed my father. I had refused to do something he wanted me to. I cannot remember what it was anymore, but it was something small and insignificant. Definitely unimportant. He did not get angry, he just nodded thoughtfully. He turned towards my mother. ‘Catherine,’ he said calmly. ‘Put a pot of water on to boil.’
I remember my mother’s white face and her frightened eyes clearly. She knew my father, you see. She hung a pot of water on the open fire of the stove.
He sat and smoked his pipe quietly. Behind me my sisters and brother huddled. There were seven of us then. I was the youngest. Two more would come after me.
‘Has the water boiled yet?’ my father asked every so often.
‘No,’ she said, her voice trembling with fear, and he nodded and carried on puffing on his pipe.
Eventually, she said, ‘Yes. The water is ready.’
Two of my sisters began to sob quietly. My father carefully put his pipe down on the table and stood.
‘Come here,’ he called to my mother. There was no anger. Perhaps he even sighed.
But by now my mother’s fear had communicated itself to me and I had begun to fidget, fret and hop from foot to foot in abject terror. I sobbed and cried out, ‘I’m sorry. I’m very sorry. I will never again do such a thing.’
My father ignored me.
‘Please, please, papa,’ I begged.
‘Put the child on the chair,’ he instructed.
My mother, with tears streaming down her cheeks, put me on the chair. Even then I think she already knew exactly what was about to happen because she smiled at me sadly, but with such love that I remember it to this day.
I stood up and clung desperately to my mother’s legs. My father ordered my older sisters to hold me down. They obeyed him immediately.
Reluctantly, my mother dragged her feet back to my father.
With the dizzying speed of a striking snake he grabbed her hand and plunged it into the boiling water. My mother’s eyes bulged and she opened her mouth to scream, but the only sound that came out was the choke that someone makes when they are trying to vomit. While she writhed and twisted like a cut snake in his grip, my father turned his beautiful blue eyes toward me. My father is an extremely handsome man—laughing gray eyes and blonde hair.
The shock of witnessing my father’s savagery towards my beloved mother was so total and so all encompassing that it silenced my screams and weighted me to my chair. I froze. For what seemed like eternity I could not move a single muscle. And then I began to shriek. A single piercing wail of horror. My father pulled my mother’s hand out of the pot and rushing her outside, plunged her blistering, steaming hand into the snow.
I ran out and stood watching them, icy wind caught in my throat. My father was gently stroking my mother’s hair. Her face was ghostly white and her teeth were chattering uncontrollably. Then she turned to look at me and snapped them shut like a trap. I was never the same after that day.
I obeyed my father in all things…

Since I seem to be flying through books lately, and I’m sure you all have better things to do with your time than sifting through all my reviews for the books I really loved, I figure I’d save you the trouble. Since I seemed to have developed a recent case of DNF-itis, it seems my patience for less than sub-par books has really gone down and those 4 and 5 star reads are becoming a little more infrequent. Excerpt Reveal: ★Ripped★ by @authorkatyevans

Rage bubbles up inside me full force.

“Now?” Melanie keeps asking me.
I. Loathe. Him.
“Now?” she asks again.
I loathe him. He’s the only boy I’ve ever kissed. He took kisses that meant everything to me and turned them into a joke of a fucking song. A song that turns me into some sort of Eve, torturing and teasing him to sin. He is the sin. He is the penitence, the hell, and the devil, all in one.
I reach into my bag, nicely tucked under my poncho, and grab the first thing I find.
“Now,” I whisper.
Before Mackenna knows what hit him, Melanie and I have sent three tomatoes and a couple of eggs flying through the air.
The orchestra music isn’t enough to drown out his muttered “fuck,” audible through the microphone.
His jaw clamps and he yanks the mic down over his chin as he jerks his eyes around to find the source of the attack. I feel delirious when I see the genuine anger on his face. I squeal, “The rest!” and grab the remaining things we brought and just keep throwing. Not only at him, but at anyone who tries to get in the way—like the stupid dancers who rush to protect him. One of them makes a whimpering noise as an egg hits her face, and Mackenna jerks her back by the arm so he can take the hits himself, his furious eyes trying to find us in the crowd.
Then I hear Melanie shout, “Hey! LET GO, asshole!”
My arms are yanked behind me, and I’m suddenly shoved and pulled out of my place and down the aisle.
“Let go of us!” Melanie cries, struggling as two burly guards drag us away. “If you don’t let go of me right now, my boyfriend’s going to find your home and kill you in your sleep!”
The guard yanks me back harder, and I catch my breath as pain rushes up my arm.
“Asshole,” I hiss, but I don’t even bother to struggle. Melanie’s getting nowhere and I know it.
“She knows them! She knows the band! Who do you think he was singing about just now, asshole?” Melanie kicks into the air. “She’s Pandora! Let us fucking go.”
“You know Mr. Jones?” one guard asks me.
 “Mr. Jones!” I scoff. “Seriously! If Mackenna’s a mister, I’m a unicorn!”
They seem to chuckle among themselves as they lead us past more security, around the stage, and to a small room in the back. One guy starts speaking into a radio as he unlocks the door.
Melanie struggles and tries to kick out, but the enormity of what could happen starts settling on me, and I grow quiet.
Holy. Shit. What have I done?
“You don’t have to look so happy, dickface. My boyfriend will find your home too and kill you next!” she tells the other guard.
They yank a door open and shove us inside. I stumble as I take a step, fighting for some dignity as I wiggle free of his grip. “Let go,” I grit, and he finally releases me.
The radio transmitter on his hip emits a sound. A voice says something I can’t make out, but it sounds a lot like cursing.
“Remove these,” one of the guards commands, pointing at our ponchos.
I pry the plastic off my body and Melanie does the same, then we watch helplessly as they strip us of the bags we’d hidden underneath the ponchos.
Melanie groans when they set our things on a table to the side. Cell phones. Two more tomatoes. Car keys.
“Wow. You guys can’t take a little joke now, can you?” Melanie asks them with a haughty little scowl.
I close my eyes and try to quell the panic rising in me.
Fuuuuck. What was I thinking?
I haven’t done anything this reckless in years.
And it felt good.
Also wrong. Very, very wrong.
But good. Great, in fact.
Hell, I can still picture the pissed, disbelieving look on Mackenna’s face. It gave me intense pleasure. Orgasmic pleasure. But now the intense feeling I’m experiencing is more along the lines of paralyzing fear.
What if the guards call him into the room to ask if he does, indeed, know me?
What if I have to stand here in this small stuffy room and look at him from thisclose!
I feel sick to my stomach. Later, Melanie’s going to want explanations. Big-time explanations; more than what I’ve told her so far. She’s going to have to tell Greyson what happened, and he’s going to want to know everything, because these stupid security guards messed with his girl. I don’t even know if I can explain to her the kind of past Mackenna and I share. January 22: the day I unfailingly get drunk and don’t bother to even see the light of day—I’d sworn to myself I’d never discuss that day. But Melanie and Greyson? They will want me to open my box of secrets. Of me and Mackenna Jones.
Hot, wet mouths melding . . .
Him, pushing into me, stretching me, taking me, loving me . . .
Promises.
Lies.
Loss.
Hatred.
The kind of hatred that’s only born of an intense, out-of-this-world love that went woefully wrong.
What am I going to say to him if I see him?
What am I going to do?
Please god, don’t punish me by making me look at him thisclose.
I pace and pray, pace and pray while Melanie studies her nails, the wall, and me, sighing with the bored confidence of someone who knows she’s getting out of here intact. If I see Mackenna, I really doubt it’ll be so easy. My stomach’s already in knots, and I’m having the most awful urge to vomit right now.
The concert seems to last forever. One of the guards comes and goes while the other opts to stand a few feet behind Melanie, standing all military-like, as if waiting for something.
Oh god, please let that something not be Mackenna.
I’m wearing off a layer of my boots’ soles when, a century later, the door swings open and a chubby man in a suit and tie steps in. My blood pools in my feet from my nervousness. Lionel Palmer, the band manager, also known as “Leo.” I saw his face and interview in this morning’s paper, but I have to say he looked much happier in that picture.
He glares at us—Melanie glaring back, me standing motionless—and his hands make meaty fists at his sides.
“Have you any idea what you just did?” he grits out, chubby cheeks blazing red. “How long we could keep you two cozy in a fucking lady prison? What kind of fucking fans are you?”
“We’re not fans,” Melanie says.
The door swings open and the twins, in all their male glory, join the melee. They look intimidating all the time, but now—with their blond hair, odd-color eyes, and perfectly pissed-off scowls—they’re a force to be reckoned with.
I can’t breathe.
“Who the fuck are these bitches?” the one with the snake tattoo demands.
“I’m getting to that, Jax,” Lionel says.
So the other one must be Lexington. He charges forward and looks at me, eyebrow piercing and all, then he looks at Melanie. He points his index finger, swinging it from her to me. “I hope you two have a lot of money, because one of our dancers is injured. If she’s screwed up for Madison Square Garden—”
“Don’t worry, Pandora, Greyson will take care of this,” Melanie says easily.
“Pandora,” Lionel repeats suddenly. He grows still, his eyes sliding back to me. “Your friend called you Pandora. Why?”
“Because it’s my name? Duh.”
I’m in the middle of rolling my eyes when the door swings open and a figure fills the space. I don’t think my heart is beating anymore. I feel like someone is strangling me and

punching me on the inside.

Mackenna.
A few feet away.
In the same room as me.
Bigger and manlier than ever.
He kicks the door shut behind him. He’s wearing aviators, so I can’t see his eyes, and ohmigod, I hate him with a passion. I came here to hurt him, but I’m so overcome by my anger, I can’t seem to do anything but stand here with my breath getting trapped in my lungs, my heart squeezing in my chest, my body trembling as all my suppressed anger bubbles up inside me.
He is tall and dark, and the remains of a red gooey liquid trickle down his chest.
But what a perfect chest, with its thin trail of hair that leads the way from his navel to his dick. Tight leather pants mold to his bulging thighs. A bulging cock too. I swear girls might think he sticks a loaf of bread down his pants, but I can assure you that fucker is real. As huge as his fucking ego, and I remember it used to get as hard as his fucking head.
Not everyone can pull off a buzz cut, or a diamond stud earring, but he has a perfectly shaped head that makes you want to curl your hands around it and trace the curves with your lips. The diamond glints almost menacingly in his right ear, and when he takes off the sunglasses with an angry jerk, I see his brilliant, furious silver eyes, and I swear that it feels like coming home.
To a home that was wrecked, and burned, and there’s nothing left, but it’s still your home.
How fucked up is that?
God, please let him not be real. Let this be a nightmare. Let him be on the other corner of the world while I hate him safely from my corner in Seattle.
“She’s fucking Pandora?” Lionel asks Mackenna.
When Mackenna’s hard jaw only tightens, Lionel turns slowly around to study me. My brain is a tangle of confusion because Mackenna is staring straight at me like he can’t believe I’m standing here.
I can barely take his steely gaze. I thought this night would give me closure. That I could make him feel in front of his fans like I felt when he left: humiliated. Instead he stands there, every inch the rock god, even with tomato puree on his chest. He owns the room, carrying that unnamable X factor that nobody can pinpoint but that he has in spades, that tells you he owns this room and everyone in it.
And that fact only serves to piss me off further.
“Lionel,” he says in a low, warning tone.
Just one word makes Lionel ease back. Now nothing stops Mackenna from staring straight at me.
My face burns as I remember how I loved him. Deep, hard, completely.
Don’t think about that. You hate him now!
“Nice hair.” He shoves his glasses into the belt loops of his

pants.

His voice, oh god.
His eyes run down the length of my hair, and Melanie offers, “I suggested she add a little spirit to her hair, so at least she looks happy.”
He doesn’t even look at Melanie. He looks at me in the most intense way, specifically the pink strand in my hair, waiting for me to answer. I loathe that pink strand, but not as much as I loathe him.
“Nice tights,” I return, and gesture to his leather pants. “How’d you get into them? From the top of a building and with a pound of butter?”
I refuse to let his chuckle move me, but I feel it run down my legs as he starts approaching. “No need to use butter anymore. These pants are a part of me.” He holds my gaze helplessly trapped. “Like you were a part of me once.”
He’s coming closer, and every step affects me. My cheeks burn. The gall of him to remind me. I’m so angry. Years of hurt simmer in me. Of loneliness and betrayal.
“Fuck you, Mackenna.”
“Already done, Pandora.”

Review

4.5 stars

Love, itself, is a beast that can make a man crazy with lust and insane with jealousy.
I know. I felt it once. And I swore I’d never put myself through it again.

PNR fans, if you haven’t yet discovered this series, I’m not sure what rock you’ve been living under. What I do know is, you need to crawl out from under there and discover the incredible talent that is Keri Lake and her Sons of Wrath series. Trust me. Three books in and it just continues to get better and better. I would not advise reading these books out of order and the story develops throughout the series, and even though the author does a great job of reiterating the important details without sounding redundant, it’s still better experienced read in order. With that said…let’s move on to the review
Gavin is the oldest brother, and the one I’ve been incredibly curious about since the very beginning. While he seems to be the most balanced of the the Wrath brothers, he still obviously battles demons of his own (pun intended). After the events from book two and the trickery of a certain woman, he finds himself sentenced to the worst kind of torture in Obsidian…for the second time in his life. Worst of all, his sentence is for a crime he had no idea he was committing, but this is one sentence that just may result in his death…
Sabelle is a succubus unlike any of her kind; she hasn’t taken a soul in her entire existence. She’s a loving mother, a caring sister, and a hard worker that soon finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Or in other words stuck between her what she’s forced to do as a succubus and what she truly yearns for; freedom. When she sees a dangerous opportunity that just may give her the answer that she seeks, she’s forced to call in her marker. When she saved Logan’s life at the request of Gavin, she also gets to call a marker of her choosing at the time that she needs. And there’s no better favor to be owed than one from a Wrath demon.

Gavin is plucked out of Obsidian in exchange for enslaving himself to Sabelle…but all she wants from him is his protection. Too bad that passion between them soon becomes too hot to resist…

For you, I would commit the vilest sins and revel in the flames of hell, if that would grant you some happiness.

This is no fluffy PNR book. Hell no! It’s gritty, sexy, action packed and fast paced. It’s also filled with so many twists and turns you will never know up from down. At over 500+ pages, it’s long, and it’s also completely unputdownable.

Keri has this talent for writing these broken, slightly tortured, and yet incredibly endearing characters. She also is able to effortlessly weave in a few secondary characters POVs without it ever taking away from the story. I was practically foaming at the mouth for the little insight that we got into Zayne in this book.

As for the rest? You’ll have to read to find out 😉

But what I can say is this may have been Keri’s sexiest book yet. Sabelle is such a strong and persevering heroine. You simply can’t help but root for her. I liked her in the previous book, but she was truly a force to be reckoned with in this one. The things that she goes through were at times almost heart breaking to read. And the author manages to write it in such a way that it paints the picture in your mind while it hits you right in the feels.

Gaving was absolute perfection. I have nothing more to say on that. I adored him in this book.

I will side with the devil himself and gladly hand over my soul to keep you safe.

He was this combination of sweet, romantic, caring and yet with this edge of sexy that just made all the more rugged.

The story with the Sang and the rest of the supes hierarchy continues to get more and more interesting and I can’t even imagine how much more crazy it will get. All I know is that I want front row tickets to the show!

The tease in the epilogue about what the next book may bring? FUCKING KILLER! Keri you evil genius, you. You tease us so. There’s also the set up for Zayne’s book which will pretty much leave you begging for his book next.

I am absolutely, positively, irrevocably hooked on this series.

You may have enslaved my soul, Sabelle, but you’ve irrevocably freed my heart. For that, I will always be in your debt.

Book Blitz & Excerpt: ✩Corrupted✩ & ✩Warped✩ by #AliciaTaylor & #NatalieTownson

I am going to marry a monster.
He is my everything.
He manipulates people for fun.
He takes over their lives, consuming them. He dominates and crushes, ruling them, claiming their souls.
No one has survived the games of Damon Hunt, so far.

Before now. Before me.

I am Ella Knight. I am corrupted.
My sister was a victim of Damon’s games.
It’s my turn to play now.
Damon Hunt has been my sole focus, my everything for three years, since my sister’s death.
I’ll manipulate him. I’ll take over his life, consuming and crushing him. I am going to take away his soul. Damon Hunt will not survive my games.

I will win.
I hope.

Amazon US /  UK  /  AU

“Ella,” he rasps. “You’re gonna fuckin’ kill me. Sweet Jesus, baby.” He closes the distance between us in two strides. When he’s close enough, his hands grip on my hips and pull me into him. Our bodies clash, my blood ignites. Need washes through me. Damon’s scent envelopes me, he smells pure male. My chest heaves as I look up into his eyes, my breasts brushing against his chest with every inhale. “I can see everything, beauty. Every fucking thing. The rounded globes of your perfect arse, the mound of your pussy, the dimples at the back of your knees.” His hands move down to grip my arse cheeks. He squeezes roughly before pulling me into his hard cock. I moan as the move hits the perfect spot. “God, I need to keep you.”

Warped (Manipulation Trilogy, Corrupted, #2)

I won’t be caught off guard again. I won’t let them win. They played the first round and won. Now it’s time for me to even the score. Damon and Leona will pay for their twisted games. Leona is first.

His touch repulses me.

His fake affection disgusts me.

He sickens me.

I need to get my head in the game. I need to be smart and break their bond to more easily crush them. Damon is clever. He knows what he’s doing. He’s been playing the game long enough.

He’s twisted.

I’m warped.

It’s time to finally end this.

Time to finally win

“I need you,” I say as my hands glide over the planes of his chest, each muscle tightening under my palms.

“I know what you need, beauty,” he growls.

Damon squeezes my arse before one of his hands slides down the back of my thigh. He grips the back of my knee and brings my leg up to hook around his hip. I cling to his shoulders and dig the heel of my foot into his firm arse cheek to steady myself.

His hard cock bobs against my stomach, making me desperate for him. Damon presses his chest to mine and claims my mouth in a hungry kiss. His tongue collides with mine, and they battle together.

My blood heats to volcanic temperatures, my pussy clenching and dripping. I need him in me, filling me. Instead, Damon’s fingers make contact with my throbbing clit. He rubs around the hood in a soft circle before slipping down my wet folds to my entrance, where he slowly runs a fingertip around the outer rim before plunging two fingers inside. I cry out and my body clenches around his thick digits.

“You’re so fucking wet, Ella. Fuck, you unravel me, baby.”

Damon starts a steady rhythm with his fingers as he kisses down my neck. I throw my head back and moan as he nibbles at my pulse point. I don’t know what it is about his nibbles but they turn my insides to mush. Moans pour from me as he pulls his fingers out and rubs hard on my hooded pearl.

My body trembles in his hold. Damon releases his grip on my arse to grip my hip, and walks me back a step, until my back presses against the cold, tiled shower wall. His assault on my pussy doesn’t stop. He alternates between finger fucking me and caressing my clit.

His other hand slips from my hip to my back, and slowly strokes up my spine. Goosebumps break out across my skin and I whimper. My nails dig into his neck as my orgasm builds, ready to break and make me float.

“Damon,” I cry. I just need something more, it’s not enough. Damon seems to notice, and his hand leaves my back to grasp my hair. He tugs, pulling my head back, and my chin juts into the air. Damon’s lips travel up my neck to rest at the tip of my chin.

His hand cups my pussy, his palm presses into my clit, his finger hooks in me. He hits my secret bundle of nerves, making me scream. Fuck, it feels so good.

I grind into his palm as he closes his lips around my chin and gently bites, pulling my hair at the same time. A deep feral growl erupts from him, vibrating into me, tearing a moan from me.

“Damon… oh fuck…. Damon… I’m gonna… ohhhh,” I pant out.

My upper body erupts with chills as Damon pulls away from me slightly, only to latch on to my nipple, biting with enough sting to send me over the edge. I scream his name as wave after wave of pure bliss rolls through me.

Alicia Taylor was born and raised in the East Midlands town of Derby, England, where she lives with her family and mass of animals – she’s a huge family and animal lover.

Writing powerful love stories and creating Alpha males with a dash of darkness has become a passion of mine, and I have many stories and characters swirling in my head that I can’t wait to share with you all. Is it weird to have so many voices in my head? I’m not crazy, I promise… maybe a little bit.

Natalie Townson is 33, a mother of one beautiful little boy and lives in Gloucester in the UK with her Husband. Corrupted is her debut novel that is a book one of the manipulation trilogy, that she co writes with Alicia Taylor. Warped is book two in the manipulation series. She has had a love of reading since a young age and her favorite authors are Sophie Kinsella, J.S.Scott, Melody Anne and Stephanie Meyer to name a few.
