DGR: Hi Ella, thanks for allowing me to interview you once more. I love having you here at DGR. Can we start with a quick introduction for readers that may not be familiar with your work yet?

EF: Hi Lana! Thank you for having me. I always love visiting DGR whenever I can.

A quick introduction on myself…let me see. I’m a Gemini, which may or may not explain the multiple voices and personalities always coming out of my brain.

I love to write all kinds of romantic based fiction, whether it is M/F contemporary, M/M, erotic and erotica, and now I can say fantasy. I love it all!

DGR: Temperance marks the beginning of your new series, The Arcanian Chronicles. This is certainly a step away from anything that you’ve written in the past. What made you want to write in this genre?

EF: I wanted to write something different. I love to read all genres, but sometimes I find that when I’m reading the same thing over and over I tend to get bored. The same could be said with my writing. Sometimes you need a change, and for me I definitely felt the need to switch it up, to try something new.

DGR: I have to say, I absolutely LOVE the synopsis for this book. It sounds almost whimsically good. Was it as fun to write as I’m sure it’s going to be to read?

EF: Was the synopsis fun to write? Ha! Funny you should ask because I am pretty sure all authors would agree that the synopsis is NEVER fun to write. It’s the monumental task of trying to condense a three hundred-page story into three paragraphs. I’m thrilled you loved it, and that it took you on it’s own mini journey. That is what I was hoping for.

DGR: Can you tell us a little about the series and your plans for it? How many books do you plan to write for it?

EF: A little about this series…hmm, well I can’t say much without giving things away. But I will tell you there will be four books for sure, since there are obviously four sisters. There is the possibility of a fifth because there is one character in there that certainly needs a story of his own…so we will see how that unfolds. But for now I would say between four and five books.

DGR: One of my favorite parts of this book were the incredibly vivid visuals and world building. Was there anything in particular that you used for your visual inspiration for this?

EF: Thank you! That was the hardest part. I must have re-worked those first fifteen chapters, three or more times. Trying to capture the way I wanted the world to look. With the first book in a series such as this, you are certainly going to encounter a lot of character introduction and world building, you just hope against hope that you do it in a way that intrigues the reader and takes them to another place. Enough so that that they want to know more about it and can really envision the land you have created. It was a huge challenge and one I procrastinated over for months.

I built up a very full Pinterest board, and had a lot of images I drew inspiration from as I built my Arcania.

DGR: There are a lot of things happening in Temperance and quite a few unique characters that are introduced. Are all books in the series going to follow this kind of formula with multiple POVs and other interwoven storylines along with the romance?

EF: Yes, there is a lot going on, I know. But I kind of like my stories that way. I love knowing what every character is thinking and how they are feeling as the story progresses. So yes, I do see the entire series being told in a similar light.

While this is a fantasy romance series, and there is an aspect of romance that will be in each of the stories, it is also about the relationships between the families and the people within the world that I really want to build.

So hopefully that will come through for the reader, and will make them either root for good or evil, or to know more about the magical beings that will pop up. There is plenty more to discover as we go deeper into the world, that’s for sure.

DGR:  In Temperance you introduce some very intriguing characters like Ry’Ker, Kai, Bastian, and the 4 Brannigan sisters. Will each of them be getting a romantic interest of their own?

EF: Yes, yes, yes and yes (ßwas that vague enough? Ha!) I can’t tell you anymore than that. They will each have a story, and some of them have already met who they will fall for, while others…have not.

DGR: I loved Naeve and Kai together. Are we going to get more of them in the next book?

EF: Yes! Certainly. Their story has just begun. I feel as though everyone’s story will be told through all of the books, even though it is obvious there is a main couple it’s focused on…does that make sense? I won’t just be leaving Kai and Naeve as they were when you finished the book. They still have a long way to go on their journey.

DGR: If you had to describe Temperance using only 3-5 words, what would they be?

EF: Different
Beautiful
Intriguing

DGR: So what’s up next? Can you give us a little sneak peak into what the next book will bring or how soon we can get our hands on it?

EF: The next book I’m working on is the second in the co-authored series I am writing with Brooke Blaine, and then Trust (the third installment in my Temptation Series). I have no set dates yet, but both will be in the first half of 2015.

The second book in The Arcanian Chronicles will likely release around the same time this one did next year, as they take longer to write and I wish to dedicate the time it requires and do a good job on it. But in between I’m sure there will be some other project from myself.

Who do you become when the you that you always were is no longer?

I added this book to my TBR before I even knew what it was about. Ella Frank has been an auto-buy author for me for years, so if I see a book by her it’s a no brainer add. Period. After finishing this all I know is that I just want to live in her brain for just a day. I’m so serious. I’m convinced that the woman is storing a whole workload of pervy worker elves up there. How on earth does she keep coming up with such brilliant plots and then putting them off so flawlessly? I ask you! It’s just not humanly possible. And yet, when it comes to Ella, she continues to blow me away with each new book.

Why don’t you tell me about this place? This…Arcania.”
“Come closer, and I will show you.”

From just the first chapter I knew I was in for one amazingly intriguing and unique read, and I was so right. The world of Arcania was vividly painted through words, magical, and filled with so many unique characters that it actually took me a little bit to truly get a grasp on it.

Many years ago, a being that is now know as a “sensualeer” brought was almost the cause of the destruction of the entire land. An empress, born to magical powers, she gave in to the cravings inside her when she came in contact with a man, and the darkness within her took over. Since then an order was born with a higher being to oversee it in order to prevent such a thing from happening again.

Years later, set in Arcania past, Maeve, the eldest of her 4 siblings, is getting ready for her 25th birthday on which she will be meeting the man that is fated for her. Unfortunately the man that is destined for her is also the one that her sister is in love with. A sister that also happens to be marked with the blood of the crazed empress that upon the news that she will never have the man she loves, surrenders to the darkness within her

…and so the story begins.

In present time and in the modern world, Naeve along with her 3 sisters, are getting ready for their 25th birthday. A birthday where a tarot reading transports them to a different world and introduces them to things that they have never imagined.

There is A LOT of plot development and world building that takes place in this book. So much so, that there are multiple POVs that are also introduced, aside from the one of Naeve. This is also the brilliance of Ella Frank; because where I would usually find something like this to be too convoluted it actually worked here. The more I read, the more questions I had, and the more things begin to tie together. And I was absolutely sucked in before I even knew it.

He was like everything else in this strange, new world- a beautiful nightmare. Dark, dangerous, and lethal.

Kai was the mysterious brother of one of the Imperial Guards and the man sent to help find the 4 sisters when they get dropped in the world of Arcania. Knowing nothing about who they are or where they came from, he begrudgingly agrees to help find them in exchange for something that he wants to be named later. Kai was a character that grabbed my attention from the very beginning with his obviously dark secret, brooding personality, and tortured self. He was a bit of an enigma…much like his brother and head of the Imperial Guard’s Ry’Ker.

There was A LOT going on in this book. There were the connections between all the characters, the mystery behind what L’iAM, Naeve’s uncle and current ruler of Arcania is hiding, the secret of his son and his still unknown powers and so much more. Because of this, the romance that begins to develop between Naeve and Kai kind of took a secondary place. But don’t get me wrong, while it may not been predominant, it still played a role…

From the beginning Kai had overwhelmed her, frightened her, and controlled her destiny. But right near and now, the look in his eyes told her that she was the one in control. HE was under her spell.

As much as I’d love to give you more than this, I’d only confuse you. This is one of those books you really need to experience to understand. Having read a number of books in the romantic fantasy genre, this was very different…but in a good way. I wouldn’t really qualify this as JUST a romance because it’s so much more than that. Though I did wish that it did have a bit more with the romance since it did take me quite a bit to finally wrap my head around everything.

This is not a complete standalone in a series. This is a continuing plot that will continue throughout the series. While there is a somewhat cliffhanger, it’s not as bad as it could have been. It leaves off in a satisfying enough place that it won’t leave me a rage mess until the next book comes out. But it gives you just enough of a tease to still crave the next release anyway,

I can’t wait to see what the genius mind of Ella Frank has in store for this series next. Definitely a series I will gladly be continuing with.

There’s a reason I have a giant girl crush on Taryn Elliot. It’s like the woman has the ability to reach inside my brain for just that right amount of angst I like in my books, and then deliver it on a sinfully sexy rockstar platter. I’m not usually a big fan of trilogies since my impatient ass tends to lose interest in the next book by the time it finally comes out and my poor puny brain forgets the first book in that time too. I don’t make a habit of reading them, save for a very few exceptions. And this author just happens to be one of them. Well, to be perfectly honest I’d probably read it anyway since I love everything she writes, but I’d also be waiting for all the books to be out before diving in. But since the releases of the books in this trilogy are not very spaced out, I decided to jump right in.


There was no playing with a man like Logan. There was burning and there was scarring. She had enough scars dammit…

Logan King is a famous rockstar. In the industry since his teens, he’s built up quite the reputation. He’s also built up a whole lot more baggage. His secrets are dark and kept close to the vest, and his demons are persistent and at times even debilitating.

The small town of Winchester Falls has been an escape for him since his car broke down there years ago. Now it’s where he goes where he needs time away from the insistent flashes of the paparazzi lens and a little ease from the insanity of his lifestyle. Logan King is also running, running from a past and a very real demon that still continues to haunt him in the shape of a person that has the power to destroy his barely contained calm and control. A person that is the reason that he runs from any prospect of a relationship or anything more than a one night stand. In town just in time for the town’s annual Summer Festival, Logan meets the one woman that temps him to maybe finally want something…more


In the dark of night, a safe life with a stable guy wasn’t nearly as alluring as this intense man with demons crawling just under the skin. He was holding something back and she’d wanted to dig those details out of him.

Isabella Grace is a woman with her own secrets. But while you can clearly see Logan is a man haunted, Izzy keeps her buried even deeper. She finally found a place where she feels like she belongs. She may be a new addition to the town of Winchester Falls, but she’s already ingrained herself with running the local bookstore with her two best friends. Running the Summer Festival is another great way for her to do that. But the last thing she expected was for the one man that starred in her teenage fantasies to make a guest appearance for the show and throw her carefully constructed world for a loop.

Logan is used to protecting himself not only from the media, but from wanting anything more with women. He can’t be that person for anyone, his past prevents it. But while he swears to stay away from the first woman to tempt him for wanting more in years, the chemistry between them proves to be too much for either one of them to deny…

There’s no insta-lust to be found here, not really. While the book takes place over just a few days, the connection that Taryn builds between Logan and Izzy is an incredibly believable one. Their chemistry is so hot that it practically jumps right off the pages. It’s absolutely sizzling

But Logan and Izzy are also both hiding something from each other and it soon becomes clear that Logan’s secrets are about to unravel when the specter from his past comes back to haunt him and threatens Izzy’s safety. And no matter how much he wants to be that man for her, he knows that the best thing he can offer her is to stay away…as far as he can.

I really enjoyed this story. It was this wonderful combination of emotional, sexy, and just the right touch of angsty and all of that shrouded in mystery. I seriously love the way that Taryn is able to weave all that together. To give you just enough to hook you and yet still leave you begging for more. Yes there is a cliffhanger, but where typically that would have sent me into a rage, it actually worked for me here. Both of these characters and their past are so complex that no way could I see it fitting into just one book…even a long one.

Izzy and Logan are both incredibly endearing and relatable characters. Where Logan’s tortured rock star persona made me fall for him, Izzy’s tough girl, take charge but still a little vulnerable personality worked for me just as much. We get a little bit of a taste for the demons that Logan has buried in this one, but Izzy continues to be a mystery. I can’t wait to see all the secrets that she has buried and to find out how everything pulls together.

If you’re in the mood for a sexy and angsty rock star romance, you really can’t go wrong with this one. I can’t wait for the next installment. Consider me hooked!

Oh…there’s also a story somewhere in there. I swears! If I can only remember what that is now. Ahh yes, it’s all coming back to me now.

We have Gage Holt a former MMA fighter and current part owner of a club, and a verra bad boy. As far as first meetings go? He’s got that part covered…

That’s what you want, isn’t it? For me to fuck you right here, right now, against the wall. Isn’t that what you want, Skyler?”

Be reasonable, what woman can resist THAT? Certainly not Skyler Thompson, a good girl that’s always played it safe when it came to sex. So when on a bad date while at club Sin, she catches the eye of the sinfully sexy and tatted up Cage? Let’s just say she know exactly what she wants…and she really makes no qualms about going after it.

But luckily she’s forward without coming off as desperate or brash, which is typically my kryptonite with heroines.

The set up is not really unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Bad boy meets good girl. Boy isn’t looking for a commitment because he’s not “fit” to be in one. Boy and girl agree to some no string sex.

…we need to lay down a few ground rules.”
“What kind of rules?”
“Actually, there’s only one. This thing between us…it’ll be just sex. That’s all I can give you.”
“Fine, great, I’ll take six more orgasms.”

And since your offer sounds so tempting, Cage…

As far as the plot goes, it’s entertaining and the book reads very quick. Well…give or take a few “breaks”. Uhem.

I loved the set up for the 3 partners, all of who are former MMA fighters. This definitely was a hot little book in what looks to be a very promising and sinfully delicious series.

Did I also mention the hot sex?

Are all your fights usually so quick?”
Nope. I wanted it over fast so I could take you home and fuck you.

But don’t worry, it’s not just smut and zero story. If you’re looking for a scorching hot book with a dirty talking MMA fighter and a good girl gone bad? Looks like you’ve got your next read here 😉

But seriously guys, this is a STEAL for $.99. If you want a hot and steamy read with a hero that will quite literally melt the panties off of you, this is a must read. Huge rec from this dirty girl 😉

I’ve had Deviant on my kindle since I grabbed it as a freebie back in March 2014 (and it’s still free), but I’ve been waiting for the entire series to be out to dive in. I just didn’t have it in me to read another serial piece by painful piece while slowly dying inside from anticipation of the next book releasing. And let me just say I’m glad I waited, because I have a feeling I’ll be binging on this series.

Sloane will do anything to find her missing sister, including walking into a hotel room wearing black lace lingerie and have sex with a total stranger… A stranger that demanding, rough, with a taste for the kinky, and with a gravely voice that’s equal parts terrifying as it is seductive.

I don’t want to give you any more than that because this is a short novella, and I don’t want to give too much away. But even though this is a short book, it packs quite a punch. Don’t go into this expecting rainbows and unicorns. This is DARK and I have a feeling it will get even darker. This takes you into the underbelly of the Seattle mob syndicate. It’s a no holds barred and no punches held type of story. It’s violent, a little depraved, and a whole lot addicting.

I’ve seen some people reference to a certain scene in the book and I was curious as to what got this type of response. I can definitely see how it may not be for everyone, but I guess this desensitized pervert didn’t have an issue with it. Considering the title of the book, it made a certain type of sense. Especially seeing as how Sloane willingly gives herself over to Zeth’s demands.

In a 4 words? This. Was. Fucking. Awesome.

So they make a deal; Brett will give AJ a taste of the wild side he’s craving and in return AJ will pretend to be her boyfriend for the week to make her look more respectable and reliable to her father and brothers. A win/win, right?

This was probably my favorite book in the series. The chemistry between AJ and Brett is sizzling from the very start and it doesn’t let up until the last page. Brett was a great heroine; sassy, a little wild, and incredibly endearing.

My one fear was that AJ’s ‘transition’ from nice guy to bad boy wouldn’t really be believable or feel forced. But Elle Kennedy pulled this off effortlessly. Not only did I believe it, I could see how he’s been hiding the inner bad boy that has been brewing under the surface all these years. His reasons for the personality change were heartbreaking, and it made so much sense that it just pulled everything together for me.

AJ was the perfect combination of bad boy dirty talker with a nice guy. He didn’t need to be a man whore to pull off this vibe, and it was perfect. If you’ve enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, then you’ll definitely love this one. And if you haven’t read this spicy little series yet, then I’m not sure what you’re waiting for.

Ho-ly shit. This. Book. Was. Freaking. HAWT. I’ll admit, being the Brazen junky that I am, I’ve read my fair share…and I do mean my fair share. So trust me when I tell you that this just may have been the most sizzling and kinky one yet.
We first met Will Reaver as Garrett’s tamer and more reasonable and almost unassuming twin brother in Mistaken by Fate. Ha! Tamer and unassuming my ass!

We also met Penelope Carson, the gorgeous and sassy pain in Will’s ass…better known as his competition in business. Both Will and Penelope like to be at the top, and that certainly goes for everything else beside business. Their fierce competition definitely has a very hot undercurrent of chemistry, but they both refuse to admit the glaringly obvious attraction. Besides, with Will being a Dom and Penelope not being submissive, they couldn’t have less in common…or so they think…

When they realize that they’re both going after the same client again, Will proposes that they make things interesting. Whoever loses, has to submit to the other for a week. Penelope is sure that she has it all in the bag and wants nothing more than Will Reaver on his knees. Being an avid reader of BDSM romance, I can tell you that I’ve read my fair share of contemporary authors ‘tip-toeing around this genre. You know what I’m talking about; when you have a hero with some bondage and spanky preferences that also likes to boss the chick around in the bedroom is all of a sudden a Dom. Yeah…no. I was VERY pleasantly surprised with Katee’s portrayal of Will, because will was most definitely a Dom in every sense of the word. He was demanding, slightly domineering, and when the man gets down to business? No ovaries in an 8 mile radius will be safe.

So what did this book have?
A whole lot of sexy time, is what!
It also had one sizzling hot MFM threesome, that was actually very tastefully done. You know, if there’s really such a thing with a threesome.

But aside from all the kinky sexy times, it actually had a really great story on top. Both Pen and Will are terrified of commitment in their own right and it was really entertaining seeing them fall for each other even if Will did fight it more than necessary. Given both their histories, I could understand their hesitations.

Penelope was a great heroine. She was smart mouthed, independent, take charge type of woman. But when it came to Will, she had no problem giving into her more submissive nature.

I loved that none of the scenes felt forced like they have in other contemporary books for me. If you’re not a fan of the genre, it’s just light enough to still appeal to you. Don’t get me wrong, their sex is ANYTHING but vanilla, but it wasn’t exactly hard core BDSM. But for those of us that run on the more…uhem…kinkier tastes, it’s just enough to satisfy.

I also really loved the inclusion of Penelope’s best friend Addison from Meeting His Match.

If you’re looking for a scorching hot and kinky read, look no further than Will Reaver. Although part of a series, you may still easily read this as a standalone. Though I found the series to be fantastic, so I’d definitely recommend reading the previous 3 books too. Can’t wait for next installment and to see who will be the man to rein in Sara, Garret and Will’s younger sister.

Can Tessa write a dirty talker that I don’t completely lust after? I mean, I ask you! And if she does, may I never see that day. Besides, I don’t even think it’s possible. The woman has the midas touch for the dirty. Every hero she creates is not only hot, but they also stand out from each other. In a sea of formulaic writing, Tessa manages something very rare. She has a working formula of sexy romance with lots of dirty talk, but no one character of hers sounds the same. And let me just tell you that this connoisseur of dirty talking heroes loves the hell out of that!

We first met Troy and Ruby in His Risk to Take, and before you dive into this book I’d strongly advise that you read that one first. While Tessa gives you plenty of background on their relationship that you could technically read this as a standalone, I think you’d appreciate the relationship between these two more having read their first book.

Riskier Business marks the beginning of Tessa’s new Crossing the Line series and it’s sure to be an amazing one. Trust me, I would know since I was incredibly lucky to be able to read Risking it All (Bowen’s book) early. Having read that, I can tell you that ANY unanswered questions you may have at the end of this book, will definitely be answered in the next one. So if you plan on Reading Risking it All then DEFINITELY read this one first. There’s key plot developments that take place here that may throw you for a loop if you don’t read Riskier Business first. Now that we have that out of the way with, let’s get to the review.

Riskier Business takes places months after His Risk To Take ended. Ruby and Troy are still settling into their relationship and the volatile way they first got together. But now that Ruby’s pool hustling ways are behind her, they can focus on finding their middle ground. But all that gets shaken up the second Ruby’s deadbeat and criminal father comes back with an offer that she can’t pass up; she plays one more game of pool and the stakes are the highest she’s ever had. She’ll be playing her uncle that just may have the location of her mother, a mother she hasn’t seen since she first walked out on her when she was a child.

Troy is adamantly against Ruby risking herself for anything and knows that he will do anything, absolutely anything to protect her…even if it means that he may lose her trust in the process. The only thing that stays a constant in their relationship is their undeniable chemistry. That’s as strong as ever…

This was a quick, sexy, and fast-paced read and I absolutely loved it. None of the drama felt fabricated or too much. It actually made sense that it would happen the way it did considering Ruby’s past. Something like that doesn’t just go away the second she starts dating a straight and narrow cop. I also loved the jealous and possessive streak that Tory had in this one. But then again, I tend to go for that sort of thing.

While it may feel like you’re going to be left with an unresolved situation at the end, it WILL be resolved in the next book in the series. But if you’re worried about a HEA, fret not, you’ll definitely get one here. In spades.

Let me start by saying that even though the synopsis says it this book can be read as a standalone, and technically it can be, I wouldn’t recommend it. Although each book focuses on a different couple throughout this series, there’s still a whole lot of character and story development that continues through each book that would be lost on you if you read it on it’s own. I started this series with One to Love, and think I did the author a big disservice because there were certain elements in that book that were very much lost on me, until I read this book. And then I got it. I got what Tia is trying to do with this series and these characters and it just made me connect to it and like it that much more.

Stuart Knight. Just his name alone sounds delicious. Oh how I love me those broody and wounded warriors. And Stuart was definitely broody and damaged. As the older brother of Patrick Knight, we don’t know much about ‘Captain Asshat’, aside from the fact that he’s a Marine and that’s been his whole life…until the one day where that dream was brutally ripped away from him and left him broken, alone, and angry.

When an injury during deployment leaves him unable to continue active duty, Stuart is lost. He’s lost to the pain, to the memories, to the nightmares, and to his own demons.

When he realizes just how bad his opiate addiction is, he decides to leave everything for a chance to fix himself in the seclusion of his uncle’s cabin in Montana. But before that, he pays one last visit to the gym where he knows his nephew’s mother works. This is where Mariska first meets him.


Sometimes it takes more courage to give up one dream for a new one.

Mariska is a free spirit, a gypsy at heart. When the one simply unassuming but intense meeting with Stuart leaves her with vivid nightmares that she’s unable to explain but knows they’re inexplicably tied to the mysterious man, she makes a spur of the moment decision. Learning that Patrick and his girlfriend will be following Stuart to Montana, she lies about being his friend to follow them there. She doesn’t know why she does this, but all she knows is that she has to. She wants to fix him, to help him heal. Stuart, of course, wants nothing to do with the sweet and innocent Mariska. He thinks that his darkness will only taint her.

Thus begins the intricate push and pull dance of Mariska trying to get closer to him and Stuart pushing her away while at the same time unable to fight his connection to her.

I have to say that the man really was intense, particularly inside the bedroom. Mariska, though slightly naive and innocent, was still a fantastic heroine. I’m not sure exactly why, but there was just something about her that just worked for me when usually it wouldn’t. Maybe it was her determination to heal Stuart?

While the book focuses on the developing relationship between Stuart and Mariska, it does also have a number of other POVS. This is the part that would definitely be lost on the reader that’s just going into this book without reading the others. There’s a lot of continuing story development that takes place here, and reading the series in order would help you connect to that more. Though I have to say that I really didn’t understand the inclusion of Nikki’s POV in the very beginning. Considering that I wanted to punch her in the throat toward the end, it really didn’t help. but perhaps the author has a grander plan for her.

I enjoyed this book much more than One to Love. It was emotional, at times steamy and at times sweet. A fantastic combination. But there was just a little something missing for me for it to be that perfect 5 star read. That’s not to say it wasn’t a solid 4 star, because it truly was. The epilogue was wonderful and I love how Tia gives you a satisfactory HEA while still giving you just enough of a tease to leave you begging for the next book.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even bother reading the blurb when I saw the chance to receive an ARC of this book. Ella Frank is a permanent fixture on my auto-buy list. She just seems to have this midas touch and she hasn’t let me down yet. Brook Blaine is a new to me author, and together these two are a force to be reckoned with.

Firstly, I have to tell you that this book is nothing like you’ve ever read before from Ella. Actually, this books is unlike any I’ve read before. Period.

If you’re expecting a romance, this is not it…not yet anyway. The Fantasy introduces the reader to Evan. A broken man whose past and what led to his downfall is shrouded in mystery. A man that’s completely lost to his addiction. Told entirely in his POV, it is a no punches pulled, spare no dirty detail, and unapologetic view into Evan’s world.

Evan used to have it all; a successful career, money, women…Now he’s a shell of a man he ones was, but the one constant in his life remains. Women. Evan is a sex addict. A man that’s so deeply entrenched in his addiction, he truly doesn’t see a way out of it.

Evan has basically reached the rock bottom, so when salvation comes in the form of a job offer to a financial firm he never would have even considered when he was at the top of his career, he jumps on it…And comes face to face with a temptation unlike any he’s experienced before.

She looked like class and sex all neatly wrapped up in one siren-red fuck-me dress.

Here’s where things get very interesting. The introduction of Reagan. Reagan is a mystery of her own. You know absolutely nothing about her aside from the fact that she’s Evan’s boss. Her past is even more mysterious than Evan’s. This is no wilting wallflower. The woman is sharp witted, tough, and owns her sexuality like most women do stilettos.

She never took her eyes off him, and he wondered what she saw. A desperate man, most likely. One so deeply entrenched in the depth of his addiction that the only relief he’d been able to find lay with he woman beneath him, covered in his come- she’d become his dirtiest fantasy.

I don’t want to give you any more detail than that simply because it’s best experienced blind. This is not a long book and is one you can easily read in one sitting. It’s more of an introduction of Evan and a look into his world than anything else. It’s erotic, it’s different, and I can already tell that it’s going to be addicting.

What in the effing hell did I just read? And why do I suddenly feel the need to go to confessional? But the better question is, why in the fucking hell did I like it?!

The quote above describes the book perfectly, because it truly is ALL of those things.

Erotic.
Wild.
Euphoric.
And most importantly Dirty (it’s worth listing it twice)

There are no pleasantries, no small talk it’s a man who wants to fuck a woman. Not just fuck her, but take her.

I can say that this book is certainly not for everyone. It’s just one fuck shy of being depraved. Luckily my sanity is long gone and my ovaries are steel plated, so this was right up my pervy little alley.

Don’t fucking act like you don’t like this shit, Mia. I know you want someone to dirty you up. I’ll make you fucking filthy.

Mia is a good girl…well mostly anyway. She loves her job working at an adult toy company, but her own sex life has been sorely lacking lately. So when her best friend tells her about the most thrilling and erotic sex she’s ever had just so happened to come from a service in the form of a ‘rape fantasy’ she wants to be disgusted…and yet she can’t help but be incredibly intrigued at the same time. A hot and sexy stranger, a safe word that makes it all stop should you chose, and the promise of the hottest sex she’s ever had proves too alluring to resist. But nothing prepares her for the man that shows up to ‘attack her’

Tax Draconi is a debt collector and Mia is the last name on his list of people to pay.

I will suck her dry. I will fuck the life out of her, I will ravage her until she is hollow and used…

Now I have to tell you, some of the scenes that take place in this book? Even the seasoned pervert in me was almost screaming

Because it is one step away from being borderline rapey…and yet it wasn’t. But it was certainly…dirty. Very, very, VERY dirty.

My advice if you chose to read this is to slightly suspend your disbelief. The interesting thing is I couldn’t find it in me to care that some of the things that I read here would usually bother me in any other books. Which definitely goes to say something…and I’d rather not think on that right now LOL.

But the premise of the book is much darker and a whole lot more than the dirtyness of it.

Tax targets Mia for a very specific reason. A reason that has everything to do with their shared past and a past that she has no recollection of.

The story is told in alternating flashbacks of present to past and slowly trickle feeds the reader details, little by little, until you start putting together all the puzzle peaces. Tax’s history is absolutely gut wrenching. This is no sunshine and unicorns type of book. It’s DARK and it’s all kinds of fucked up.

I wish I can give you more of the plot, but I simply can’t. That blurb is vague, and that’s all you should know going in.

I had a hard time understanding Mia’s almost instantaneous connection to Tax, especially given some of the things that he makes her do. I have to say some were almost too tough to swallow…even for me. And yet her lust for him was always unwavering. Now taking into consideration their “past”, it did make a little more sense to me by the end.

I have to say that I could have gone without one very particular scene: (view spoiler)[I don’t want to even read the word ‘tampon’ in my book, especially a sex scene that starts off with the pulling of one out. Euuuwie. No spanks (hide spoiler)]

But aside from that, I couldn’t put this one down. As much as I thought I had an idea about where this book would go, the constant twists and turns kept me on my toes until the very end. And then that end! Holy freaking shit! The feels! The feels, I tell ya! Damn.

This was my first Nina G. Jones book, but I can definitely tell you that she’s found a new fan in me.
