A TRAGIC BEGINNING…

Isadora Nikitas understands what it means to be betrayed. That lesson was taught to her in the prime of her life, and when she is offered a chance to exact revenge, she finds it difficult to refuse.

Instead, she entrusts her survival to a mysterious vampire known only as Diomêdês, a male who wants nothing in return but to watch over her—in every way imaginable.

Gifted with speed, strength, and immortality, she determines that her life will no longer be governed by the needs and wants of a mere man. She has cowered for the last time, and with her Ancient by her side, she thrives and blossoms into the most formidable female vampire in existence.

But, once upon a time, like all little girls, Isadora believed in love. She believed it because she once had it. So, when it comes along a second time, she knows that it’s possible—but when you love someone, they become your weakness. Unless, in fact, they become your enemy instead…

A MYSTERIOUS PAST…

Fulfilling your life’s prophecy should be empowering. At least, that’s what Elias Fontana always believed. But, as he stands guard over the beautiful vampire he’s taken hostage, his convictions start to crumble. Made to believe by his creators that he and two others have been designed to destroy a dangerous race, he has difficulty connecting his current reality to the woman he once loved.

A TANGLED TALE TO UNRAVEL…

When friends become enemies and enemies become lovers, who can you trust in the webs of lies and despair? And, when your life is at stake and blood has been shed, how much are you willing to sacrifice to fulfill your destiny?

Isadora (Masters Among Monsters #2) by Ella FrankCopyright © 2016 by Ella Frank

January—11 years earlier…

ISADORA HURRIED DOWN the stark, white corridor and kept her eyes on the floor. She couldn’t believe how close she’d cut her latest feed. Alasdair would have her hide if he had to bail her out, but it wasn’t her fault. Not really.

Not one human had caught her eye in the latest batch of yieldings, and that was saying something considering she wasn’t partial to male or female like her cousins. Ugh, it was a slump. Thanos had warned her that it would eventually happen. She hadn’t believed him, though, and with Diomêdês out of town, her options were limited.

She’d been restless lately, which was unlike her, and tonight, she hadn’t been able to wait. The local hospital seemed a smart place to peruse a decent selection. That was until the damn patient had coded.

Just my luck, she thought, and when the first doctor had arrived, she’d promptly knocked him out, stolen his lab coat, and shoved him in the bathroom. Then a rush of hospital staff had shown up and she’d had no choice but to leave by foot. That had been…oh, about five minutes ago.

While shoving her hands in the deep pockets, she came up to the entry she’d walked through earlier and sighed. All she had to do was get out into the shadows and fade back to the lair without anyone seeing. Alasdair would be none the wiser.

As she turned the final corner, a smug grin crossed her lips—until she ran smack into the equivalent of a brick wall.

“Oh, shit. I mean—” The male standing opposite her placed a hand on her arm. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t see you until it was too late to stop the collision.” He chuckled, and the warm sound of the vibration had Isadora raising her eyes.

As he absently ran his palm down the sleeve of her coat, she barely felt the touch. He was unlike any she’d ever seen.

The first thing she noticed was his height. Being a tall female herself, she’d always been drawn to a man who surpassed her own stature, and this man had several inches on her. His hair, dark as her own, was swept back from his face as though he’d run his hands through it. It was the odd color of his eyes, though, that held her immobile. They were an unusual shade of…silver that reminded her of her Ancient’s hair, and right now, they seemed to be shining at her.

“Are you okay?” he asked, bending a little at the knees to get a better look at her.

She quickly lowered her head. Jesus. Talk, Isadora. Tell him you’re fine and get away from him. “I think I’ll survive.” No, no. Do not flirt with him.

“Well, thank god for that.”

Brilliant, she admonished herself. His tone had taken on a quality she knew all too well—interest. But she didn’t have time for this. She made a move to step around him, but the fingers she hadn’t even realized were still on her wrist tightened.

“Wait…”

She looked down to where he held her, and as if he’d just noticed, he released his grip.

“Yes?”

He gave a shrug, but the cocky smile that tipped his lips belied any kind of indifference. This man was confident, and he had every reason to be.

“You can’t just leave. What if I injured you?”

A burst of laughter bubbled out of her at the notion, and it was the first time in years she had done so.

“I’m serious,” he said as he took a step closer.

She brought her fingers to her lips to hide the grin she was flashing. “Yes, I can see that.”

“I mean, what if you leave and later suffer from a concussion? I’m a pretty solid guy, and you did run into me rather hard.”

As he said the word hard, their eyes locked and Isadora’s arm lowered, her lips parting. She needed to get out of there. The high from the feed and her lack of yieldings these past few weeks must’ve been causing a residual sexual pull, because all she wanted was to get naked and on her knees for this guy.

As a group of hospital staff ran by, he broke their connection and gestured with his thumb over his shoulder. “Do you need to go?”

Yes, but not because of that. “I should.”

“Are you a doctor here?”

“Ahh no. An intern.” Great, now I’m lying. And why that lie?

“Oh, so, if I come back, I might bump into you again?”

That was why right there. “Uh, maybe.”

When it was clear she wasn’t going to say anything else, he held his hand out for her to shake. It was such a human gesture and odd in light of their having already connected so spectacularly that she just stared at it.

“Then let me introduce myself so it won’t be strange when I show up again tomorrow. I’m Elias, and you are?”

As Isadora slid her palm into his, she allowed herself to take another good look at him. He was sexy, and the way he was watching her with intense focus made it more than obvious he found her just as appealing. Surely there’d be no harm if she took a little peek inside.

She gently pushed into his mind, and what she saw was anything but endearing or shy. He was imagining her as stripped down as she had just been picturing. However, he had her on her feet and against a wall—the hospital wall behind her, to be exact.

Loving that image, she was more than content to keep watching, but as if he knew she was in there, his mind went blank. She blinked, not believing what she was seeing, but sure enough, it was as if he’d flicked a switch and the television had been shut off.

“You’re not going to tell me your name?” he asked, breaking into her thoughts and flashing a wide grin.

She wasn’t sure why, but instead of compelling him to forget her, she slicked her tongue along her lower lip and watched him track it with those unusual eyes.

“I’ll tell you that the next time we bump into each other.”

“Which will be?”

Diomêdês would be gone for several more days, so perhaps she could amuse herself with this human until he returned. Then maybe…maybe she would present him as her next choice if things went well.

“I work tomorrow night.”

It should’ve alarmed her at how easily lies fell from her tongue, but she’d honed the perfect delivery of such tales over many centuries and found she really was quite skilled at it. Thanos, her cousin, was terrible.

“That’s good to know. I’ll be sure to stand in every corridor until you run into me.”

Isadora walked backwards, once again slipping her hands into the coat pockets, and winked. “I should pass by this one around midnight.”

As she turned to push through the exit, he called out, “I’ll be waiting…”

My my, Ella Frank, what a twisted tale you weave. The Masters Among Monsters series continues with Isadora, and all the puzzle pieces from the previous books begin to slowly put themselves together. But while you get answers to some things, you’re left with plenty more questions.

Truth be told, I struggled with my rating for a bit. Do I rate this for what it was or what I thought it would be? But Ella Frank has never been conventional, and she’s not one to be put in a box. This series proves exactly that. The woman is a chameleon of genres and her sinfully sexy writing style is sure to hook any reader. Her Masters Among Monsters series, however, is unlike anything I’ve read, not only by her, but anyone. Yes, it’s PNR, but if you’re expecting traditional romance, don’t hold your breath. MAM is sure to break some molds just like the characters within it.

I do not wish to break you. I wish to fuck you.”

If you’re thinking that each book is a only a romance for each character that’s named on it, think again. It’s so much more than that and it’s certainly not meant to be read as standalones.

Isadora and Elias clearly have a history together, yet after the events of the previous book, it’s clear that they are on opposite ends of what looks to be an upcoming war between the vampires and an entity that is still unknown. Who is Elias? Who is Leonidas? And who is the newcomer, Paris? Isadora delves into the history of how Isadora came to be turned; Deomedes, the ancient that saved her when he turned her; and her current situation with Elias Fontana. Each one of these characters has a POV. Not only that, but a large part of the book is still dedicated to the story of Leo, Alasdair and Vasilios. In addition to all these POVs, we also get one for Paris, Eton, and a little taste of Thanos.

I wasn’t expecting quite so many POVs, and I had also expected Isadora to be more focused on the romance aspect between Isadora and Elias. But this book is so much more than that. Ella has taken the big picture and broke it up into three parts. Each book offers another piece of the puzzle, but it’s impossible to do so without continuing what began in the first one. So while this has the addition of more history on Isadora, it’s also very much a continuance for the rest of the characters. It’s not cut and dry and it’s anything but black and white. It’s sensual and delicious world building along with an incredibly erotic romance that’s anything but ordinary. Is there really any wonder why this author continues to be an auto-buy for me?

While the book ends in as good a place as it can, all things considered, it’s clear there’s much more to come. And I for one cannot wait to see how everything concludes.

FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE LOVING ON THE EDGE NOVELS, THE FIRST IN A SENSUAL NEW SERIES

Overtime has never felt so good…

Marin Rush loves studying sex. Doing it? That’s another story. In the research lab, Marin’s lack of practical knowledge didn’t matter, but now that she’s landed a job at The Grove, a high-end, experimental sex therapy institute, she can’t ignore the fact that the person most in need of sexual healing may be her.

Dr. Donovan West, her new hotshot colleague, couldn’t agree more. Donovan knows that Marin’s clients are going to eat her alive unless she gets some hands-on experience. And if she fails at the job, he can say goodbye to a promotion, so he assigns her a list of R-rated tasks to prepare her for the wild clientele of The Grove’s X-wing.

But some of those tasks are built for two, and when he finds Marin searching for a candidate to help her check off her list, Donovan decides there’s only one man for the job—him. As long as they keep their erotic, off-the-clock activities strictly confidential and without strings, no one will get fired—or worse, get attached…

Setup: This is a scene when Marin was in college and overhears some dirty talk when she’s working late at the university.Holy. Shit. Marin pressed her lips together. Obviously two other people thought they were alone, too. Had students snuck into the building to get it on? Or maybe it was one of the professors. Oh, God, please don’t let it be a professor. She should turn around right now and go back to Professor Roberts’s office. Last thing she needed was to see one of her teachers in some compromising position. She would die of mortification.

But instead of backing up, she found herself tilting her head to isolate where the voice was coming from, and her feet moved forward a few steps.

“Yeah, you like that. I know. I bet you’re wet for me right now just thinking about how it would feel. Maybe I should check. Keep your hands against the wall.”

A hot shiver zipped through Marin, making every part of her hyperaware. .

“I’m so hard for you. Can you feel how much I want you?” That voice was like velvet against Marin’s skin. She closed her eyes, imagining the picture the stranger was painting—some hot guy behind her, pinning her to the wall, his erection rubbing against her. She’d never been in that situation, but her body sure knew how to react to the idea. Her hand drifted up to her neck and pressed against her throat, her pulse beating like hummingbird wings beneath her fingertips.

She waited with held breath to hear the woman’s response, but no voice answered the man’s question. Can you feel how much I want you? he’d asked. And hell if Marin wasn’t dying to know. She strained to hear.

“I tug your panties off and trail my hand up your thighs until I can feel your hot, slick . . .”

Marin braced her other hand against the wall and leaned so far forward that one more inch would’ve sent her toppling over. Your hot . . .

“Goddammit. Motherf**ker.”

The curse snapped Marin out of the spell she’d fallen into, and she straightened instantly, her face hot and her heartbeat pounding in places it shouldn’t be. There was a groaning squeak of an office chair and another slew of colorful swearing.

Whoever had been saying the dirty things had changed his tone of voice and now sounded ten kinds of annoyed. A wadded-up ball of paper came flying out of an open doorway a few yards down. She followed the arc and watched the paper land on the floor. Only then did she notice there were three others like it already littering the hallway.

Lamplight shifted on the pale linoleum as if the person inside the office was moving around, and Marin flattened herself against the wall, trying to make herself one with it. Please don’t come out. Please don’t come out. The silent prayer whispered through her as she counted the doors between her and the mystery voice, mentally labeling each one. When she realized it was one of the offices they let the Ph.D. students use and not a professor’s, she let out a breath.

Either way, she had no intention of alerting her hall mate that he wasn’t alone. But at least she could stop worrying she’d gotten all fevered over one of her professors. Now she just had to figure out how to get past the damn door without letting him see her. She’d gotten used to skipping meals to save money since starting college a few months ago. But she wasn’t going to make it through the next two hours of data entry and sleep monitoring if she didn’t get some caffeine. No wonder none of the upperclassmen had wanted to fill in during break.

Marin’s gaze slid over to the stairwell. If she stayed on the other side of the hall in the shadows, she could probably sneak by unnoticed. She moved to the right side wall and crept forward on quiet feet. But as soon as she got within a few steps of the shaft of light coming from the occupied room, a large shadow blotted it into darkness.

She’d been so focused on that beam of light that it took her a moment to register what had happened. She froze and her gaze hopped upward, landing on the guy who filled the doorway. No, not just any guy, a very familiar guy. Tall and lean and effortlessly disheveled. Everything inside her went on alert. Oh, God, not him.

He had his hand braced on the doorjamb, and his expression was as surprised as hers probably was. “What the hell?”

“I—” She could already feel her face heating and her throat closing—some bizarre, instant response she seemed to have to this man. She’d spent way too many hours in the back of her Intro to Human Sexuality class memorizing each little detail of Donovan West. Well, his profile, really. And his walk. And the way his shoulders filled out his T-shirts. As a teaching assistant, he usually only stopped in at the beginning of class to bring Professor Paxton papers or something. But each time he walked in now, it was like some bat signal for her body to go haywire.

It’d started with the day he’d had to take over the lecture when Professor Paxton was sick. He’d talked about arousal and the physical mechanics of that process. It was technical. He’d been wearing a T-shirt that read Sometimes I Feel Like a Total Freud. It shouldn’t have been sexy. But Lord, it’d been one of the hottest experiences of her life. He’d talked with his hands a lot and had obviously been a little nervous to be in front of the class. But at the same time, he’d been so confident in the information, had answered questions with all this enthusiasm. Marin hadn’t heard a word in the rest of her classes that day for all the fantasizing she’d been doing.

But now she was staring. And blushing. And generally looking like an idiot. Yay.

She turned fully toward him and cleared her throat, trying to form some kind of non-weird response. But when her gaze quickly traveled over him again, all semblance of language left her. Oh, shit. She tried to drag her focus back to his face and cement it there. His very handsome face—a shadow of stubble, bright blue eyes, hair that fell a little too long around the ears. Lips that she’d thought way too much about. All good. All great.

But despite the nice view, she couldn’t ignore the thing in the bottom edge of her vision, the thing that had caught her attention on that quick once-over. The hard outline in his jeans screamed at her to stare—to analyze, to burn the picture into her brain. The need to look warred with embarrassment. The latter finally won and her cheeks flared even hotter. She adjusted her glasses. “Uh, yeah, hi. Sorry. I thought I was alone in the building. Didn’t mean to interrupt . . . whatever.”

He stared at her for a second, his brows knitting. “Interrupt?”

Goddammit, her gaze flicked there again. The view was like a siren song she couldn’t ignore. Massive erection, dead ahead! She glanced away. But not quick enough for him not to notice.

“Ah, shit.” He stepped behind the doorway and hid his bottom half. “Sorry. It’s uh . . . not what it looks like.”

She snorted, an involuntary, nervous, half-choking noise that seemed to echo in the cavernous hallway. Really smooth. She tried to force some kind of wit past the awkwardness that was overtaking her. “Ohh-kay. If you say so.”

He laughed, this deep chuckle that seemed to come straight out of his chest and fill the space between them with warmth. Lord, even his laugh was sexy. So not fair.

“Well, okay, it is that. But why it’s there is just an occupational hazard.”

His laugh and easy tone settled her some. Or maybe it was the fact that he was obviously feeling awkward, too. “Occupational hazard? Must be more interesting than the sleep lab.”

He jabbed a thumb toward the office. “It is. Sexuality department. I’m working on my dissertation under Professor Paxton.”

She could tell he didn’t recognize her from class. Not surprising since she sat in the back of the large stadium-style room and tried to be as invisible as possible. Plus, she was wearing her glasses tonight. “I’m with Professor Roberts. I’m monitoring the sleep study tonight.”

“Oh, right on. I didn’t realize he’d taken on another grad student. I’m Donovan, by the way.”

I know.

“Mari.” The nickname rolled off her lips. No one called her that anymore. But she knew he probably graded her papers, and the name Marin wasn’t all that common. She forced a small smile, not correcting him that she was about as far from a grad student as she could get. She wanted to be one. Would be one day if she could figure out how to afford it. She’d managed to test out of two semesters of classes, but high IQ or not, that dream was still a long way off—a point of light at the end of a very long, twisting tunnel.

Marin shifted on her feet. “I was heading to get a Coke so that I don’t fall asleep from doing data entry and watching people snore. You need anything?”

“A Coke?” He glanced down the hall. “Don’t waste a buck fifty on the vending machine. I’ve got a mini-fridge in here. You can come in and grab whatever you want.”

Are you an option? I’d like to grab you. The errant thought made her bite her lips together so none of those words would accidentally slip out. She had no idea where this side of herself was coming from. Not that she’d really know what to do after she grabbed Donovan anyway. This was a twentysomething-year-old man, not one of the few boys she’d awkwardly made out with in high school. This was a guy who’d know how to do all those things she’d only read about in books.

“No, that’s okay, I mean . . .” She shifted her gaze away, willing her face not to go red again.

He caught her meaning and laughed. “Oh, right. Sorry. Yes, you should probably avoid strange men with erections who invite you inside for a drink. Good safety plan, Mari.” He lifted his hands and stepped back fully into the doorway, the pronounced outline in his pants gone. “But I promise, you’re all good now. You just caught me at an . . . unfortunate moment. And now I’m going to bribe you with free soda so that you don’t tell the other grads in the department about what you saw. I keep these late hours and work through holidays to avoid that kind of torture.”

He gave her a tilted smile that made something flutter in her chest. She should probably head straight back to the office she was supposed to be working in. He was older. Kind of her teacher. If he found out she was one of Pax’s students, he’d probably freak out that she’d seen him like this. But the chance to spend a few minutes with him was too tempting to pass up.

“Okay.”

I’m happy to take things slow since you’re new to so much. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think about hauling you up against a wall, hiking your skirt up, and fucking you like I own you.

Is it hot in here or was it this book? I should know by now to expect sizzling hot romance from Roni Loren but this was absolutely smoking’, uncomfortably aroused, don’t read in public sort of hot! Dirty fantasies, role playing, and a hero dubbed “The Orgasm Whisperer”. Yeah. Suffice it to say I really enjoyed this one.

I’ve been a huge fan of Roni Loren since I first discovered her Loving on The Edge series, but dare I say this book was my favorite of hers yet? If you haven’t read anything by this fantastic author yet, this is the perfect book to start with.

Marin Rush has spent most of her youth taking care of her mother and younger brother and trying to put herself through school. A chance meeting late night at work she stumbles upon something that changes her and her career. She may not have much experience in the matter, but Marin knows sex, in the scientific and psychological sense anyway. But when she lands a coveted position in one of the most renowned institutions as a sex therapist, she knows that her scientific knowledge won’t do much for her when it comes to her clients. She needs hands on knowledge…

She wanted to play the games. She wanted to step into those shadowed places where the rules and niceties went lax.

They dubbed him The Orgasm Whisperer. Dr. Donovan West is a great therapist, but he’s not without a few sexual hangups himself. Mostly in the form of commitment phobia. He likes his sex dirty, hard, and non-permanent. When the beautiful Marin becomes his colleague, he knows he can help her, but the rules may need to blur for it

I can’t be your boss. Because if what I have in mind is going to work, it’s going to have to be strictly off the clock and off the record.

Marin and Donovan have a connection in the past that seems to make their sexual attraction in the present that much stronger. It may not be quite against the rules, and it may be a touch taboo, but it’s not long before the pull between them gets too deliciously tempting to resist.

…know there isn’t a thing on that list that I wouldn’t love to check off for you, Completely and thoroughly. I could make you shameless, Rush.

I loved every single part of Off The Clock. It was sexy, a little edgy, and everything I’ve come to love in Roni Loren’s romances.

Marin may have been one of my favorite parts about this book. While she may be inexperienced, she’s no blushing ingenue. This is a woman that’s smart, strong and knows what she wants. She has this inner core of strength to her that was understated and yet perfectly there. I wasn’t expecting to love her as much as I did because she’s not the typical heroine I like to read about but she completely won me over. I loved watching her tick kink after kink off with the sinfully sexy Donovan.

As for Donovan? *Fans self*. This is the epitome of a sexy nerd. This man was everything. Between his penchant for the kinky in bed and his dirty talk, he certainly doesn’t act like a nerd, and yet nothing was more delicious than reading about him doing his dissertation of female arousal from dirty talk. I’m easy like that I suppose.

If you’re looking for a sexy contemporary romance to start your 2016 with, you really can’t go wrong with this one. A huge rec from this girl!About the Author

I am a ruthless bastard, but if you let me, I’ll be your ruthless bastard.”

I’m a huge fan of Shayla Black and Lexi Blake individually, but when these two combine their talents into a series? Fire. Works. This just may be my favorite series by them yet. And having read their entire backlists individually and combined, that’s no light statement. Espionage, action, suspense, and a romance so hot it burns up the pages, all woven intricately together to make up one incredible page-turner!

Connor Sparks has always been the odd man out in The Perfect Gentleman group. He didn’t come from money or prestige. His past is troubled and his future is shrouded in shadows. The CIA offered him the answer to his future and he took it with open arms. He’s built a reputation for himself in the years since and he’s known for being the man that gets things done no matter the cost.
Seduction in Session teaser @DGRAn assignment to play babysitter to a spoiled and naive woman in order to get close to a threat looming over The Perfect Gentleman is not his ideal, but he’ll do it. Even if he has to pretend to be her bodyguard. But Lara Anderson is nothing what he expected and everything he soon comes to crave. It’s not long before lust turns into something much more and leaves Connor rethinking where his loyalties lie when the bullets start flying.
I was a little afraid at first that Lara would get on my nerves. She’s not exactly the kind of heroine I prefer to read about; a vegan that even attempts to put her dog on a diet. She’s idealistic and at times naive and some of the things that come out of her mouth left me somewhere between laughter and ‘did she really say that’?

Yes. I think that’s a very good plan. Let’s form a friendship circle and talk this out. That will bring Connor into the group and make him feel comfortable.

That was not said in jest either.

But then something happened and she began to grow on me. I began to find her…endearing. It’s a true testament of an author’s talent to take a character that by all rights would never work for me in any other book and yet make it work.

Simon was a dangerous enigma. He’s sexy, protective, a little grumpy, and so alpha I think my ovaries actually sighed in happiness. When he releases his full effect on Lara, I was putty in his hands. This is a man that falls hard and knows when he screwed up. I spent the book waiting for that other shoe to drop when Lara figures out he’s not quite who he says he is and for his grovel. I can tell you that it did not disappoint.

Seduction in Session was everything I’ve come to love with both these authors; it’s action packed, with richly developed secondary characters, and an absolutely sizzling romance. This is not a book meant to be read as a standalone as each book builds off of the last with the story arc. While the romance has a HEA there is clearly unfinished business with the main threat against this group and I’m already twitching for the next book. Considering the set up for Dax’s book, I already know I’ll be salivating for his story. Hard.

Yet another addition from two of my favorite authors and I recommend it for any lovers of sexy romantic suspense. It will definitely not disappoint.

What happens when Mr. Suit and Tie meets Ms. Wild Style? A chemical reaction that leaves them IN A BAD WAY!

A missing stripper sister, the Russian mob, a smoking hot FBI Agent and the enigmatic woman who lies at the center of it all, is as crazy sexy as it gets.

Isadora Fuentes will do anything to find her missing sister, even slip on a bikini and serve drinks at the strip club where her sister worked. But when Andre, the Russian giant who runs the joint, instructs Izzy, aka “Wild Style,” to strip for a federal agent and make a compromising video, Izzy balks…until Andre hints he has information on Izzy’s sister—for the price of the tape.

Special Agent Flynn Ryker is a loner by choice, but when his buddy gets engaged, he shows up at Surf’s Up Strip Club in San Francisco for the bachelor party of a lifetime. What he doesn’t expect is his immediate attraction to a saucy little stripper named Wild Style. When she attempts to slip him a roofie and videotape him in bed, Flynn has two options: Haul her pretty little ass in and arrest her or go along with the sting and see where it leads…

Working together to solve the disappearance of her half sister, Isadora Fuentes and Special Agent Flynn Ryker may disagree on tactics, but there’s no denying the sizzling chemistry between them. Will the secrets they hide from each other ruin their chance for love?

I’ll split you apart and make you beg for more” He dropped his lips to the base of her throat and inhaled her sweet scent. “And I’ll be gone before you wake up.”
“Is that how you court a lady?”
“You’re not a lady and I don’t court.”
“If you don’t court, what do you do?”
“I fuck.”
“Then just fuck me.”

I’ve been a huge fan of Karin Tabke for quite some time. I even loved her PNR titles under her pen name of Karin Harlow. While this is the second book in a series, it’s easily read as a a standalone. While I did read the first book, Breaking Bad, I’d be lying if I told you I remember even a page from it. I had absolutely no trouble getting right into the swing of things here though.

In a Bad Way is exactly the sort of delicious set up I love. It’s this lusty little hate-to-love scenario, though not quite. Allow me to explain.

He liked his women tall, sleek, sophisticated, and disease free.
The sexual encounters facilitated by those worldly goddesses? Neat and a la carte. It was how he rolled. No extras, easily digested, and a fleeting memory.

Special Agent Flynn Ryker likes his women uncomplicated. A sweaty night between the sheets and a mutual understanding that that’s all it will ever be. After watching his father cheat on his mother with countless strippers and defile the sanctity of marriage, the last thing he wants is to end up like him. It’s also guaranteed that he has an ingrained dislike for strippers. So imagine his surprise when a curvy little beauty is exactly who catches his eye at a strip club while at a bachelor party for his buddy.

Izabella “Izzy” or as she’s known at work, “Wild Side”, is not quite what she appears to be. She’s a cocktail waitress at a strip club that’s recently been promoted to stripping. But she’s a girl with a plan. She’s looking for any clue about a missing woman with a deep connection to her that was last seen at the club. She may be on her way to law school, but she’s also moonlighting as a stripper for answers. Then she gets a proposition that she can’t turn down: roofie a cop at the club, get him in a compromising position and she just may finally get the answers that she so desperately seeks. And of course that cop that catches her eye is the too cocky for his own good, Flynn.

I don’t THINK I can fuck any girl, I KNOW I can…
But I only pick girls who want to fuck me. And, tiny dancer, your ‘fuck-me’ pheromones are screaming loud and clear to my ‘I-want-to-fuck-you-back’ receptors.”

Thus begins an intricate dance of I hate you/ I want you, with a bit of Get lost/ come back thrown in for good measure. As for me? I devoured every angsty morsel of it even while it did drive me out of my ever loving mind sometimes.

Flynn is exactly the time of man that Izzy knows she doesn’t need. He’s rich, entitled, and a manwhore. He’s way too much like her estranged father and there’s no love lost between her and daddy, that’s for sure. So between her not wanting someone like her dad, and Flynn not wanting to be like his dad, well, it makes for some interesting reading.

As much as I wanted to throttle the two of them at times, I can’t deny that their chemistry was through the roof. Flynn and Izzy burn up the pages together. Though I did get frustrated with Flynn’s borderline antagonistic and demeaning treatment of Izzy because of her “profession” at times. It took much too long for him to finally remove his head from his ass, but again, it did make for some entertaining reading.

There’s the added element of suspense that ties the entire story together. The mystery of what happened to Alexandra Chasten is one that kept me turning the pages eagerly, only to be left hanging at the end. While the story gives a very satisfying HEA for the couple, it’s unresolved about the mystery of Alexandra’s disappearance. That conclusion is something we’ll be getting in a new spin-off series and damn but the set up for it sound delicious. Too bad the wait till April 2016 just may kill me.

I loved In A Bad Way much more than book 1. It was sexy, suspenseful, and did I mention sexy? My one quibble is the terminology that was often used during the sex scenes. I’m not a big fan of the word “penis” in erotic romance. Nor am I big on things like comparing of her hoo-hah to a raw oyster, or him sliding into her aching void. But in the grand scheme of things, that was barely a blip on my radar. I was so enraptured in the story that I barely batted an eyelash at it. And that says something, because I’m typically extremely picky with that stuff. Everything else about this book worked for me: the pacing, the story, and most especially the romance. Sure Flynn and Izzy had bumps along the way to their HEA but that only made it so satisfying when they finally reached it. Oh and if you haven’t read The Chronicles of Katrina yet (Simon makes a much appreciated appearance in this book), I’m not sure what you’re doing with your life.

Don’t miss the first book in this series

I’ve been watching…all this time.

I grew up as the bastard son on the wrong side of the tracks. Until an angel I could never repay helped me climb to the top.

My new assistant, Grace Copeland, is determined to bring me down. She thinks I don’t know about her lies and the risks she’s taking, but I’ve been watching all this time.

Watching her.

Soon she’ll realize that being on top is where I belong—and where she’ll beg me to be.

This wasn’t me. I wasn’t some hormonally-driven horndog who couldn’t manage to keep his dick in his pants. She brought something out in me, and I wasn’t sure I liked it.

Well, well, well, and so the plot thickens…and how! The Boss serial is my crack and Cari and Taryn are my favorite pushers because this self-professed serial avoider is addicted! Usually I wait until a series is complete, but something about these books leaves me in actual pain until I get my next fit. I should probably look into this.

The serial is told in alternating POVs, and with Grace having hers in the first book, now it’s Blake’s turn. Now I’m not sure what I expected. A typical enigmatic billionaire meets heroine and falls head over heels in love after fighting it for 5 books? You should know these authors don’t do anything in half measures like that. And let me just tell you, Blake’s POV will turn quite a few things on their ass. I didn’t see any of it coming and the revelations only served to whet my appetite further.

This takes off immediately where book 1 ended; the aftermath of Blake and Grace’s sizzling unexpected hookup in his office building after being locked in together accidentally. Blake never expected for Grace to effect him in such a way, but now he can’t deny it. The chemistry between them is just as strong as ever even if both of them continue to fight the inevitable.

She wasn’t just going to come. She was going to shatter, and I was going to break apart with her.

What Grace doesn’t realize, however, is not only does Blake know what she’s after but he’s hiding quite a few things of his own…and they’re a doozy.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Cari and Taryn book if it didn’t end in a cliffhanger that will make you want to rip your hair out. So it you’ll excuse me, I’m off to jump straight into book 3 which is luckily already released and hope that the cliffy in that one won’t leave me rocking in a dark corner somewhere.

Review4 starsForgetting August-DGR

Because life really didn’t move on from a person such as August Kincaid.
No, you simply learned to adapt and above all, you survived.

When you read about a book a day, they all sort of begin to blend into each other. So when I stumble upon a book that’s as unique as Forgetting August, it’s a treat. This was unlike anything I’ve read in the past and I was immediately drawn into the story. It was just that good; the writing, the mystery, the angst, the romance, all of it wrapped together into one spellbinding unforgettable read.
Everly is happily engaged and planning a wedding to a wonderful man that loves her fiercely. But with one phone call and three little words, her carefully constructed world crumbles into chaos. He is awake.

August Kincaid awakes from a two year coma that no one expected him to wake up from with absolutely no recollection of who he is or who he was.

My former life was an endless tunnel of oblivion, where there was no beginning or end.

When a gorgeous redhead shows up at his hospital bed, he hopes that her clear knowledge of him may help him piece together the memories that he no longer has. But then only thing he sees in her eyes is pure unadulterated hate. Hate for the man that he once was, and hate for the man that clearly hurt this woman beyond repair.
forgetting August teaser2-DGRAugust took everything from her once; her love and her heart, and then he shattered it. Everly wants nothing to do with the man, even if he doesn’t remember who he is. She’s happy in her life now, but his memory continues to haunt her and she just can’t bring herself to look the other way. August is clearly struggling to put the pieces of his life back together, and if she can give him the missing puzzle pieces, she’ll do that. But she will never give him a piece of her heart.

Maybe sometimes love isn’t pure. Maybe sometimes it’s toxic- so toxic it consumes a person until they would do anything to have it.
Like a drug.

The story is told entirely in the present with quick memory lapses into the past. It’s not a past/present type thing. It’s written in such a way that you feel like you’re experiencing those flashes of memory right along Everly.

But the heart is a fickle thing. You can’t help who you fall for and once upon a time August was her everything. Now in the midst of helping him regain his memory by taking him to places he loved and hoping to ignite at least a spark of something, the one thing is manages to do is re-ignite the flame in her heart for August that never quite burned out.

Could the heart remember what the mind couldn’t?

Forgetting August is full of angst and emotion. It’s wonderfully written that left me wondering how I haven’t read anything by this author before. The mystery of the past and what ultimately led to August going into a coma is something that stretches for the entire book.

While I’m not usually one for love triangles, the one here simply worked for me. I think that had a lot to do with Everly and clearly seeing her struggle of moving on from her past and attempting to face her future. She loves her fiancé, but August was something else for her entirely.

Loving me destroyed you…”
“Loving you brought me back to life.”

FA teaser-DGR

If I gave my heart over to a man who then turned into my worst nightmare…?
Who would be there to pick up the broken pieces?
No one, because there would be nothing left to find.

Forgetting August is sexy but without the need for super gratuitous sex scenes, if that makes sense. I absolutely loved this story and the characters. But most of all, I loved the mystery behind everything. I was just as desperate for those flashes of memory as August was. And when one of the biggest puzzle pieces get revealed, the author hits you with the mother of all cliffhangers that had me howling at the ceiling.

They say time heals all wounds. But can it forgive?

If you’re looking for something different, this duet needs to be on your TBR. I usually avoid cliffhangers like a religion, but in the case here I’m glad I read it. Even as I die a little each day in my wait for the conclusion in Spring.

Review-TGGSSeries: Forbidden Men #7
Genre: New Adult Romance

Release Date: November 28th, 2015
add-to-goodreads-button-2TGGS_cover

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.

Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy…and makes the cut.

Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.

But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.

When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

Buy-Links10Amazon | B&N | iTunes | KoboReview4 starsTGGS-DGR

Asher Hart didn’t need some fancy seduction to draw a woman in. He just had to be himself for me to want him. Bad.

I’ve been waiting for the lead singer of Non-Castrato to get his book since he first made an appearance in Be My Hero. My intrigue with him has only grown with each following book in the series. Asher may be the lead singer of a popular band and has females throwing themselves at him, but you could always see him yearning for something more…a deeper connection. This is not a typical indiscriminate manwhore that you’d find in most other New Adult books. Asher Hart was refreshingly different and I absolutely loved him for it.

This Girl’s Got Secrets focuses on a trope that’s just not done enough and happens to be one of my all time favorites. Just One of The Guys and She’s The Man were two of my favorite movies growing up. Did I just age myself? And if you haven’t seen those movies, I don’t even know who you are right now. But I digress. The trope is simple enough; girl wants in on an activity where only men are allowed. Girl dresses up as boy to prove a point but ends up falling for one of the men she’s deceiving. Sound delicious? That’s because it is.

Now fair warning, because at over 450 pages, this book is long. And I mean it’s looooong. But at the same time, I never once felt like I was reading something that was filler or unnecessarily stretched out. I did feel like my ovaries may explode if these two didn’t do it finally at some point, but that’s a different matter entirely.

All Remy Curran has ever wanted was to be a drummer in a band. When she hears that one of her all time bands, Non-Castrato, has an opening for a drummer, she knows that she’s just as good as in. She’s a kickass drummer after all. Too bad that it’s no girls allowed, and they don’t so much as let her addition. So what’s a girl to do? Why have your friend dress you up as a boy, so you can go an audition and show they what’s what!
But things rarely go as planned, and while the plan was to rip her mask off as soon as she rocked her addition, she ends up with a chance of a lifetime that she just can’t pass up. But when she begins falling for the lead singer, things get a whole lot more complicated…
TGGS teaser-DGRAsher still remembers the woman that sang karaoke and stole his breath all those months ago and then disappeared, but he’s long since lost hope of ever finding her. He’s desperate for something meaningful like his half brother and his friends. He doesn’t want another band groupie that only wants him for what he is and not who he is. He’s also terrified of losing his little family of friends once they really get to know all his secrets. But somehow, he has no problem spilling his deepest secrets to the new drummer. There’s just something about him that bonds them almost instantly. He doesn’t care that Remy is gay or that he may have feelings for him. But Remy is hiding even bigger secrets that may ultimately cause everything to come crashing down.

I absolutely loved Asher. He was such breath of fresh air from the stereotypical manwhores I’ve read lately. The way he yearns for a real relationship and isn’t about one-night stands. He’s incredibly sweet but there’s an added edge to him from everything that he’s been through with his past and his father.

I love that smile,” I admitted. “I want to steal it for myself so you’ll never be able to smile at anyone else the way you’re smiling at me right now.”

Even though the progression of the story flowed incredibly well and felt natural, I did find it too be a little too lengthy. Especially with such a large chunk of the book being the deception, it just dragged a little too long for me. I’m a little conflicted with my feelings on that simply because while I felt it was too long, it didn’t feel stretched out either. Maybe that’s just my book ADD kicking in? I’m not quite sure.

I really liked Remy as well. Her internal struggle of falling for Asher and trying to stay away from him as her “girl” part was difficult. You could tell that she wanted to come clean but was so afraid of losing him after she began to fall for him. And let’s be honest, how do you not fall for Asher?

Her eyes were like brown pools of temptation and I was a drowning man. I tried to resist, I even pressed my forehead to hers, but I already knew it was too late.
This woman owned me.

Precisely.

Pick and Ten are still my top two forbidden men, but Asher Hart is now up there with them. While this wasn’t my favorite in the series, it was still a fantastic addition and I enjoyed it thoroughly. There was only one thing that left me scratching my head at the end there. Asher’s dad does something but yet I have no idea where he got the knowledge to be able to pull something like that off. It just didn’t add up for me.

I’ve got a big dick and an even bigger bank account. That’s pretty much where my bio ends. Honestly, I don’t need to say anything else. I’ve just sold 99% of women on going home with me.

Do I sound like an asshole to you?

That’s because I am.

And guess what? It works for me just fine.

Or at least it did.

Until I met her.

Books talk about sparks flying. Fuck that shit. With her, it was like emergency flares mixed with jet fuel. Or maybe just straight up napalm.

Only one problem.

She didn’t leave her name or number when she disappeared from the hotel room after the hottest fucking night of my life. Now I’ve had a taste of unicorn pussy—the sweetest, rarest of all pussy—and I need it again.

So what’s an asshole to do?

I took this problem to the street. A missed connection gone viral.

And when I find her? I’m keeping her.

Review4 stars

I’m going to own this woman- body, heart, and fucking soul.

I have three words for you to describe the absolute hotness that is Creighton Karas.

Hubba hubba hubba
Meghan March has written some deliciously dominant alphas in the past, but damn, I think the woman simply outdid herself with the smutty awesomeness that was Dirty Billionaire. And it is smutty. SO smutty. So deliciously, ovary obliteratingly smutty.

*pause for dirty thoughts*
And I’m back….

Dirty Billionaire is the first of three installments in the Dirty Billionaire trilogy with a sinfully dominant and dirty talking billionaire and the country music hopeful that may submit to him in the bedroom but won’t stand for his shit outside of it.

Holly Wix is a singer with stars in her eyes. In the hopes of making it big, she tried out for a make-me-a-star TV show and was handpicked by the label to be the next big thing in Nashville. Only problem? She signed a deal with the devil and didn’t realize quite what the label would expect her to do. And their recent demand? Just may cause all her dreams to crumble before they even begin. So what’s a girl to do? Look for one night of escape inside a handsome stranger’s bed…

Judge me all you want; I don’t give a fuck what you think about me. Because I own half this town, and the other half isn’t worth having.

Enter Creighton Karas stage right. Billionaire, asshole extraudiaire and a man that’s conquered so much he’s become bored of it. It’s not about money for him anymore, it’s about winning. He’s tired of the debutantes with money in their eyes gracing his bed. He’s craving something…different. And when a shy beauty in a bar captures his attention, he knows that he’ll do just about anything to have her.

You know what I do with naughty girls? Whatever I want.

Uh…yeah. Wait…what were we talking about here?

*pause for dirty thoughts*
And I’m back….

The first installment in this delicious trilogy is heavy on the smut and a bit light on the story and this particular pervert didn’t mind it one bit. I did, however, have a little bit of trouble truly understanding the extremes to which Creighton was willing to go to in order to get Holly for one more night. For a billionaire that seemingly has it all, it was just a bit OTT. I can understand Holly acceptance of the bargain considering her alternatives, or lack there of. But I suppose we may get the answer to this in the next book.

I liked that while Holly may have been fully submissive to Creighton in the bedroom, she doesn’t take his shit outside of it. And let’s be honest here, I wouldn’t complain either considering the mouth this man has on him when it comes to all things dirty. Holy mother of ovaries! Now I’m eagerly anticipating what’s to come after the doozy of a cliffy in this book. Luckily I won’t have to wait long.

The legacy of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continues in a spin-off series from the #1 New York Times bestselling author…

Paradise, blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself…be herself. It’s a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.

And that’s before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated—and left wondering whether she’s strong enough to claim her own power…on the field, and off.

Review4 starsBlood Kiss-DGR

Do you like playing with fire, girl?” he growled. Because if you keep looking at me like that, I’m going to burn you to the ground.”

The BDB series is sentimental for me. It’s the series that got me into reading in the first place. It began what was to become what I refer to as my PNR binge of 2009. I was obsessed with that series…until I hit book 6. Then it slowly but surely began to lose some of its luster for me. By book 11 I had given up. It became too muddied with too many secondary POVs that the romance began to wane in the background. I missed the original brothers, the romance, the true BDB, true? So when I heard that JR Ward plans to come out with a new series that will be back to what the first few BDB books started off as with the original brothers; Wrath, Z, Butch, V, Rhage? Well, let’s just say I knew I’d part with an ovary to get my grubby little hands on it.

I’ll start my review by answering two questions first:

Is Blood Kiss like the BDB used to be?
Almost. It was probably the best Ward book I’ve read since BDB book 8, and that’s saying a lot.

Is this a true spin off?
Yes and no. Black Dagger Legacy focuses on a whole new slew of characters in the form of BDB trainees. But all the original brothers are also front and center. While the author does a good sum-up of important details, readers that haven’t read the BDB series (or at least the first 5 books) would not enjoy it as much. It’s set heavily in the BDB world, and you don’t get much detail about the world building. The original BDB is what sets that up, so I highly recommend reading that first. So let’s call it a quasi spin-off.
Blood Kiss follows two couple story lines; Butch and Marissa and Paradise and Craeg. I’d estimate it to be about 60/40 with no additional POVs to be found. Just the four. I’ll give you a moment to contain your shock…
The two story lines run flawlessly together and drive the story line for the other. I, of course would never complain about getting more Butch considering he’s one of my favorite brothers.

Paradise is a fully blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor who also happens to be one of the Founding Families of the glymera. She’s expected to follow the protocol of the females of the glymera, but she wants nothing to do with it. Instead, she joins the BDB training program, to learn how to protect herself and her race. While growing up sheltered in the aristocratic society, I was happy to see that Paradise wasn’t the stuffy, formally speaking heroine I anticipated her to be. She knows her own mind and while she may be sheltered on some things, she can kick some ass in her own right. And she definitely proves that when she’s tested to her limits in the rigorous and and intense training program. Her one distraction comes in the form of the one male that should be hands off for her; a civilian.

Craeg is a nobody that came from nothing. After a brutal tragedy leaves him with nothing but thoughts of ahvenging it, he joins the BDB training program. Having handed his application to Paradise when first applying, he thinks that she’s just a simple secretary. But he still knows that he’s not good enough for the likes of her. He has nothing to offer and so no matter how enticing the female may be, he does his damnedest to push her away…even as he lusts for her at the same time.

If I kiss you,” he growled, “there’s no going back. I might not fuck you right here, right now, but I’ll have you on your back the instant I get the goddamn chance.”

In the midst of this story line you get Butch and Marissa who are dealing with issues of their own. Butch continues to put Marissa on a pedestal that she doesn’t want to be on. After the glymera turned her back on her, her sole focus has been the Safe Place and her hellren. But there’s a piece of Butch that he’s still keeping hidden from her and she’s determined to find out what that is.

I absolutely loved getting more Marissa and Butch. Their story line felt like a natural progression of their relationship without feeling like drama was being contrived. Butch’s issues and Marissa’s unresolved feelings with her estranged brother were bound to hit, and they hit here. I think I liked Marissa even more in this book than I did in her own. She truly grew into her own and became a strong heroine. As for Butch? What can I say about my favorite Southie? The man never fails to get my ovaries to flutter.

I have to admit I was a lot more invested in the developing storyline between Marissa and Butch than I was with Paradise and Craeg. Paradise and Craig’s relationship was a tad too stretched out for my particular tastes and I was just itching for them both to get on with things. That being said, I did like them as individual characters. They just didn’t quite have the intensity as a couple as some of the original BDB ones did for me. That’s not to say it was bad, but I’d say that Marissa and Butch were the glue that held the story together.

The suspense story line came in the shape of a bad guy that wasn’t a lesser for once. Admittedly I was a bit underwhelmed by this as well, as I had figured out who it was pretty early in the story. It was a bit too predictable and I wished for a little bit more on that end. I also didn’t quite form a connection to any of the secondary characters that were introduced as new trainees here. They all had their uniqueness but none drew me like the original brothers did. But then again, it is hard to live up to the greatness that was the first 5 books so I may be judging unfairly.

I was happy to have a book with just four solid POVs that finally felt like the PNR it started out as originally. While it didn’t quite blow me away, it was a great beginning to a series that I’m hoping will stay with the same formula and get even better with the next installment.

…Rebel doesn’t exists anymore. There is only madness and fury, held together with the burning acid of revenge. It’s eaten away at everything else until there’s nothing left.

Having read Rebel a little over eight months ago, I’ll be honest and say that I remember fuck all from that book. No joke. Gun to my head, I couldn’t call up the slightest detail. Partly because I have the memory of a 90 year old, and partly because after a certain amount of waiting for a book to be released I begin to lose interest and emptying my brain of those details. Yes, yes, I know what you’re thinking. So then why did you read this? Well, my judgy friend, because it’s Callie fucking Hart. And if anyone can have me still panting for every release, it’d be her. And while I went into this book remembering barely anything, it took literary no time at all before I was thick in the middle of everything and recalling every detail. So I guess what I’m saying here, is don’t worry if you forgot details, because the author does a fantastic job catching the reader up without being even a tiny bit redundant. Kudos to that.

My soul is already dammed to hell. I might as well REALLY earn my place there.

The book starts with a flashback to Rebel in his life as Jamie. When he was a high society, son of an asshole millionaire businessman who could give a shit if he had a son. It really gives you that peek inside his mind to what started the chain of events that led Jamie to become Rebel. And let me tell you, it clicks so many things in place once you get that.

Then it takes you into the middle of the war that’s currently going on between the Widow Makers and Hector Ramirez. Rebel tries his hardest to protect Sophia while his club and everything he stands for could be burned down in a blaze of blood and fire by the hands of a sadistic enemy. The story brings you into the midst of the MC and gives you all those gritty, bloody little details to begin driving the story to what’s bound to be one hell of a conclusion in the third book.

And in the middle of all of this, you have Sophia. Taken, sold, bought, and kept as almost a prisoner, Sophia is now slowly beginning to come to terms of what her life is. She’s struggling with her feelings for Rebel and what this will mean for her future. But while she’s fighting an internal battle with her mind and heart, Rebel is very happy to put everything he has out on the open. And he’s certainly not afraid to fight dirty to get what he wants…

I’ll make you feel like you were sleeping before, like you have no idea how you lived such a placid, quiet existence without me.

Rogue-DGR teaserThis was a super fast read and not because it was short. It was super quick paced. Action packed, bloody, gritty, and incredibly sexy. Callie finally gives us that dark side that Rebel was hiding in the previous book. He let’s that side of himself really come out and play and it’s sure to set ovaries fluttering everywhere because holy mother of hotness!
There’s a lot that happens in Rogue and yet you’re still left with more questions than answers. I also appreciate the way that the author ends it because while it leaves you craving the next book desperately it’s not an ending that will make you stabby. (view spoiler). While after that long wait I would have liked a little more, I was still left highly satisfied. It gave just enough to keep my interest and guarantee I’m desperate for the next book and never felt like it was needlessly stretched out or filler. Hopefully we won’t have to wait another 8 months for the conclusion because I’m pretty sure I’d go nuts in that time. I need answers, dammit!

I’m gonna turn her whole world on it’s head, and it is going to be so goddamn perfect.
