FEBRUARY FAVORITES
February was such an incredible month for me with books. While I didn’t have enough favorites in January to make my “favorites” post, I almost didn’t have enough room for all the amazing books I read in February. I actually don’t remember the last time I had THIS many 5 star reads in one month before. I’ll be listing these in order of stars, starting with the 5 stars and working down. As always, I’ll be gifting an ebook from my list (winner’s choice) to 1 lucky winner, so don’t forget to enter my giveaway at the end of the post!
5 STAR READS
If you’re looking for a laugh-out loud sexy romance, this book will definitely hit the spot. I don’t remember the last time I laughed so much at a heroine’s internal monologue. I adored this book from beginning to finish. Did I happen to mention it involves a sassy heroine and a cop that has a penchant for handcuffs and likes his sex extra dirty? Got your attention now, didn’t I? You dirty birds 😉
And he has found me.
What a strange thought.
But then again, I’m a strange girl
Holy mother of mindfucks! And I mean MIND.FUCKS. Because this book will fuck with your head something fierce. I thought the first book was crazy, but this is just on a whole different level entirely. I’m equal parts terrified and excited to see how it all resolves in the 3rd and final book…though I’m thinking that terrified weighs out. This is book 2 in a trilogy and is NOT meant to be read out of order. While I am not usually a fan of YA, I’m a huge fan of this author. So if you’re looking for a royal mindfuck, it just doesn’t get better than this trilogy
He didn’t want to live in a world where she betrayed him. He simply didn’t.
I’ve been a huge fan of this series since the very first book. It has a little bit of everything; espionage, suspense, action, romance, and sizzling hot BDSM sexy times. While you may technically read each book as a standalone, the story arc continues throughout the series, and you would definitely enjoy it much more if you read the series in order. You Only Love Twice is the 8th installment in the Masters & Mercenaries series
I have been singing this book’s praises since I first read it a couple of weeks back, and I still can’t shut up about it. It was just THAT good. I cried like a baby and fell head over heels in love with this incredible friends-to-lovers romance. The MCs meet when they are just children and form an unbreakable bond which follows them into their early twenties. They never had an easy life, but their friendship has always been an escape for both of them. The hero is slowly going deaf while trying to make a name for himself in the professional boxing circuit. I cannot recommend this book enough!
It’s no secret that I’ve been a huge fan of this author since reading her Tear Asunder series. The woman can write the fuck out of grit and angst. Take is book 1 in her new steamy PNR series, and I’m definitely a huge fan! If there’s one thing that Nashoda can do, is give the readers one sexy asshole, and let me just tell you, ladies and ovaries, Jasper is one sexy asshole that you will want to meet.
4.5 Star Reads
What do you say, Ave,” he asked, searching her eyes. “Feel like making a really bad decision with me?”
I love a good friends-to-lovers trope, and this book delivered it in spades. Mira Lyn Kelly is a new to me author and one that I’ll definitely be adding to my auto buy list from here on forward. You have childhood friends that have both been secretly in love with each other for years. When the heroine asks the hero for a favor to pretend to be her boyfriend to ward off unwanted attention from an irritating wanna-be suitor, one thing leads to another and the sparks between them ignite. If you’re looking for a light, humorous and sexy read, this is definitely the book for you!
It’s the dark moments that make the good ones shine.
My favorite book in the Breaking Free series! I just adored Jay’s story. There was no unnecessary drama or angst, just 2 broken souls finding love and peace with each other. While you could easily read this book as a standalone, I’d highly recommend reading each book in order (there’s a total of 3 and Saving Jay marks the end of the series) to really appreciate the characters and their individual stories.
If your ovaries can survive a Tessa Bailey dirty talker, then they must be steel plated like mine are at this point. Because hot damn but the woman knows a way to write a dirty talker. Make that dirty talker a Dom with a British accent? And no ovaries within a 30 mile radius will survive. This is book 5 in the Serve series, but may be read as a standalone. You have a tomboyish cab driving heroine and the strict and intense Brit that will bring her to her knees
What happens when the genius minds of Lili Saint Germain and Callie Hart combine? This entertaining as fuck book. Now I have LOVED both the Blood & Roses and the Gypsy Brothers series. But when these two worlds collide? It’s sure to be one epic fucking ride. You have 2 brothers of an Italian mafioso on a mission to kidnap the daughter of their Irish enemy and all hell breaking lose! Entertaining, funny, and action packed, I loved this from start to finish!
4 STAR READS
I loved this standalone novel from Samantha Young. You have the enemies-to-lovers trope a little here. The hero is a successful and rich businessman who has a shared history with the heroine’s father. Nothing better for me than a snarky heroine and I definitely got it here. While I wanted a little bit more from Cain’s reasoning at the end, I did still thoroughly enjoy this one!
This is book 2 in K.A. Tucker’s Burying Water series. This is very different from her Ten Tiny Breaths series and is more centered around the romantic suspense element, but I am a huge fan! I loved book 1, Burying Water, and I enjoyed this one just as much. While you may read this as a standalone, I’d recommend reading the books in order since you do meet the hero, Luke, in Burying Water. Having read the previous book will help you connect to the story a whole lot more. The heroine is an undercover officer investigating the hero and his ties to an illegal car chopping business and ties to the mob. Intrigued? You should be 😉
You like it hard, woman?” he said between gritted teeth, fucking her with- she was sure– all his strength. And she gave all her strength back, taking everything he had.
“Yes. Hard. Deep. Don’t hold back.”
This is book 3 in Joya Ryan’s Chasing Love series. I’ve loved every single book in this series and cannot recommend it enough. Book 1 had a sexy cowboy, book 2, an intense and broody lawyer, and now book 3 brings us the tatted up bad boy with a Southern good ole’ boy charm. Oh and the heroine is a sassy auto mechanic. Much sexy times ensue.
Shall I compare thee to a…uh…whatever the hell Shakespeare compares thee to.”
“A summer’s day, but I’m more like a winter storm.”
“Ice princess,” he joked, softly kissing her as he gripped her hips. “You feel warm to me.”
Want a Romeo and Juliet story with a modern twist with a splash of mob? This book has it all. The MCs are the children of prominent NY mafia families and bitter enemies. This is book 1 in the Forbidden series and their story will be continuing in the next book. This was my first book by J.M. Darhower, and I can safely tell you that it definitely will not be my last!
As the title implies, this is volume 2 in a series of 3 books. The hero is a recovering sex addict and the heroine is his newest addiction with a secret of her own. Volume 1 was told only in Evan’s POV, while book 2 now brings you Reagan’s. A sexy and intriguing story and one I cannot wait to see how it concludes. This is NOT meant to be read out of order and is a continuation of the story started in Volume 1.
Sometimes, the things that seem the most difficult end up being the most extraordinary.
Aurora Rose Reynolds’s books have been a guilty pleasure of mine for a long while. I love her OTT alphas and the heroines that bring them to their knees. While I wasn’t as satisfied with the first book in this series, Obligation, this one had everything that I love and more. The MC enter into a fake marriage in order for the hero to protect the heroine, but that soon begins to turn into something much more. If you don’t fall for Kai and Mia, I’ll be surprised. A fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait for the 3rd book!
You believe in vengeance?”
“You mean like revenge?”
I’ve been dying for Rebel and Sophia’s story since first meeting them in Callie’s Blood & Roses series. I can definitely tell you that I was not disappointed. This marks the first book in the series and their story will be continuing in the 2nd book. While not quite as gritty as the B&R series, this was one entertaining and sexy read. Once you meet Rebel, you’ll understand exactly what all the fuss is about. While this is the first book in a new series, it is a spin off from the B&R series, and you’d appreciate the characters more having read that first. However, you will not be lost if you dive into this one first since it is a prequel to the B&R storyline.
The queen of angst strikes again with the new standalone romance in her Bristol Island tales series. You meet a doctor and his sexy neighbor who is an erotic romance author. What makes their relationship inappropriate? Well you’ll have to read to find that out, but I can definitely tell you that this book had a scene that equal parts cracked me up and made me cringe. Inappropriate indeed. While this is book 2 in the series, you can easily read this as a standalone.
He’s a crude, caustic prick who can’t keep his dick in this his pants.
The problem is, I just can’t stop thinking about that prick.
I was seduced by this cover and the synopsis and I’m not even a little bit sorry! This was dirty, sexy, crude and oh so freaking good. The hero is, as the title subtly suggests, a total prick. But then again, y’all know just how much I love me a good asshole. The heroine is his super prissy step-sister to be. This is not taboo since they are not related and their parents are engaged only through this book. So if you’re looking for a super sexy and entertaining enemies-to-lovers trope, this is a must read.
