Review: Perfect Regret by A. Meridith Walters

Perfect Regret (Bad Rep, #2)Perfect Regret by A. Meredith Walters

3 STARS

Blessed are the hearts that bend; they shall never be broken.

That awkward, confused looking person in that gif? That’s me right now. Minus the penis and plus some more hair. Why you ask? Well because I’m in a bit of a loss as to how to rate a book like this.

I loved, absolutely loved the first book, and I really enjoy the author’s writing. I loved everything about this book. Well everything aside from one tiny weenie little thing: the heroine, Riley. She drove me out of my ever loving mind! Now, it will be fair to say that I seem to have a short fuse for annoying and weak heroines. But here’s the thing…Riley was not weak. If anything she was the polar opposite of that times infinity on steroids.

Riley Walker has just been dumped. To say that she’s not handling it well is an understatement. She’s supposed to be the girl that doesn’t make mistakes, that leads the perfect life, that has her goals and priorities in order, and knows what she wants from her life. She had all of that, plus the perfect on paper boyfriend…until her perfect boyfriend tells her that their relationship has become boring and dumps her. So of course she’s going to wallow in some self pity for a while.

And to commemorate my recent descent into early spinsterhood, I had compiled a list of the most obnoxious and annoying songs ever written. Nothing says heartache and the overwhelming urge to disembowel yourself with a butter knife quite like an hour of Celine Dion ballads.

But then, to add insult to injury, she finds out that her ex just asked her very annoying coworker out. So what’s a girl to do? Well get drunk and have a very hot one night stand with the person she least expected to pay any attention to; Garrett Bellows.

Time to take a ride on the Garrett Express all the way to Fuck Me town

Riley never thought to give him the time of day. After all he’s a townie, a pot head, and no goals in mind aside from being the guitarist of Generation Rejects…but is that really all that was to him?

Garrett

We’ve found something in each other that we want. Hell if I understand why. Out of all the fish in the sea, I had to hook you. One giant, snarly toothed piranha ready to bite my fingers off.”

Garrett had me swooning after him for the entire book. There were some moments in the beginning that I questioned it, but he was just amazing. He wanted Riley, and once he let her know what he wanted, he didn’t play around. He’s already been through so much, and all he asked of Riley is for her to not break his heart when he gives it to her.
So what did Riley do with that? Well she ran it over with a friggin mack truck, of course. Then for good measure, she backed up, and ran it over again!!!
To say that I hated Riley for the majority of the book would be a gross understatement. She was a bitch. Plain and simple. She was HORRIBLE to Garrett. Everything thing she said, everything she did, I found myself getting more and more angry
It actually got to a point where I found myself rooting against her. I kid you not, I wished that Garrett would end up with someone that was deserving of him, and that was not Riley. I have never wished more that I could reach through my kindle and actually choke a fictional character. GAH!
She finally did manage to get her shit together in the last 15ish% of the book. For me this was just a case of too little too late. I didn’t think she deserved someone as wonderful as Garrett. He was always so understanding and tolerant of her, and she never ONCE returned the favor. She was judgmental, and rude, and at times purposefully hurtful.
I understand that she was going through a lot, but I didn’t find that to be a good excuse for her behavior. I just couldn’t find myself to look past my hate for Riley in this book to rate this anything above 3.5 stars.
The writing was fantastic, Garrett was wonderful, and it would have been a 5 star book for me if not for Riley.
So that is all the raging ramblings you’ll be getting from this girl. I’m off to read a book with a heroine that I will not be having homicidal thoughts towards. And I thank you

Review: Unattainable by Madeline Sheehan

Unattainable (Undeniable, #3)Unattainable by Madeline Sheehan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, they say, has the potential to kill a person if they aren’t careful. I wasn’t careful. I let that love blossom uncontrollably until it was in full bloom, exploding from within me, with nowhere to go.

Well Madeline Sheehan has done it again, she has taken broken, damaged, and completely imperfect characters and managed to write a dark and gritty book that you will not be able to put down until the very last page.

I was not a fan of Tegan from the past books, and I’ll be honest that I wasn’t thrilled to be reading a book with her as the main heroine. But I love this series, and I loved Cage, so I thought what the hell. Well I am eating my words, I’m not too proud to admit that, because this book was fucking awesome!

Cage

Cage is the son of Deuce, the president of the Hell’s Horsemen MC, and he’s also the asshole manwhore responsible for breaking little Tegan’s heart at the tender age of 16.

Tegan

Considering the woman didn’t have a sound below screeching, it’d be hard not to. She’s a vulgar, rude, mean, mouthy little bitch. But considering what she has been through in her 24 years, it’s somewhat understandable. Tegan is the the daughter of Dorothy, a “club whore” and has been in the MC life since she was eight. She has also been in love with Cage just as long, up until he shattered her world and her heart when she was 16, and she hasn’t been the same since. She learned one very tough lesson from all of it

You stupid bitch. You ignorant, stupid bitch. Love isn’t a fucking answer. It hurts more than it doesn’t, it’s harder than it is easy, it takes work, guts, and perseverance.”

Tegan escaped to California for college and to be as far away from the club as possible. To say that she hates them and the life they lead would be putting it mildly. But now she’s back at the request of her mother, who’s still dealing with the fallout and issues following her gunshot wound the head courtesy of Jase’s wife a year ago, and Tegan is forced to come face to face with everything that she had hoped to forget.

Wow wow wow! The side story of Dirty and Ellie was one of the best parts of this book for me. I think they were the saving grace to Tegan’s constant screeching, yelling, and swearing. Ellie is Danny’s friend from UnBeautifully; she was the reserved and somewhat shy one of the group of friends. Dirty was a character that I barely paid any mind to from the past books…until he pretty much stole the show in this one.

My heart broke for him with every new bit of information I read. He was such a broken, dark, and damaged soul.

He was nothing. He was shit. He was a damaged, deranged, sick motherfucker who deserved to be put the fuck down. He shouldn’t have lived for as long as he had; he didn’t deserve to share the same earth with people like Ellie.

Ellie was the light to his dark. I absolutely loved her and the way she treated Dirty. Their story was gut wrenching and beautiful at the same time. My heart broke for each of them and what they were going through.

Every day she was faced with his beautiful face, his long, lean, sculpted body, and his personality, so damaged, so fragile, she couldn’t help but want to fix him. He was a woman’s worst nightmare— beautiful on the outside, ravaged on the inside. A deadly combination.

Their story was the perfect yang to the ying of Cage and Tegan. Had it been just Tegan and Cage, the book would have been something close to 3.5 stars for me. But Dirty and Ellie added that dark and damaged softness that this book so needed to bring it to a beautiful 5 star read.

But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Madeline Sheehan has a writing style that’s dark and gritty but at the same time so incredibly emotional that I’ve come to fall in love with it. There’s been plenty of MC books I’ve read before and after, but not one of them compares to her books. Not even close.

There was so much that happened in this book that I don’t want to go into since I don’t want to spoil or give anything away, but prepare yourself for another roller coaster of emotions.

ZZ, oh sweet baby jebus! I cannot wait for his book. The event that took place toward the end of Unattainable

I can’t even imagine what his book will bring. Wow, just fucking WOW!

And of course there was more Dorothy, Hawk, and Jase. I can’t wait to see what happens with them.

Madeline Sheehan just keeps getting better and better with each new book. Yes, her characters are far from perfect. Yes, they will piss you off more than make you happy. And yes, her stories will gut you and at the same time make you feel eeeeeeverything. You will hate it, you will love it, and you will be unable to set it down.

But that is enough gushing from me. You will want to drop everything you’re doing and READ. THIS. BOOK. And I thank you

Review: Baby Come Back (Baby Series Lite #3.5) by Andrea Smith

Baby Come Back Lite (Baby Series Lite, #3.5)Baby Come Back Lite by Andrea Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tristan had been the one to teach me about love and intimacy; he’d been the one to show me how to trust again.

A wonderful conclusion to a fantastic series. Baby Come Back Lite is a novella told from Gina’s POV.

I have loved Gina’s character from book one. She is quirky, funny, tough, and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and her friends. She was an amazing friend to Tylar, and their friendship is what endeared me to her from the get go.

Tristan has also been a huge favorite of mine throughout the series. He has a very quiet intensity to him. I think maybe that’s why I enjoyed his character as much as I did. He was a bit like the yang to Trey’s ying, maybe? Well whatever the reason may be, Tristan was great.

I have been looking forward to reading Tristan and Gina’s book from the very beginning. Perhaps this was why this didn’t become a 5 star book for me? I think I set my expectations too high. There were a few things that I was looking forward to reading, that didn’t happen in the novella. I was really hoping to get Gina’s perspective on how her and Tristan got together. I know this was more or less covered in book 2, but I guess I just wanted a little more. But that’s really just my own biased opinion and not a reflection on the book or the writing at all. The book itself was great.

I will say this, Andrea Smith definitely knows how to hit the reader where it hurts, and she certainly doesn’t pull any punches. When she gives us Gina’s deepest and darkest secrets and past, she doesn’t hold back. Some of it was very hard to read for me, my heart just broke for what she has been through. The way that she had persevered and was such a strong heroine in the end just made me like her more.

The story takes up right around the time where Tristan finds out about Gina’s pregnancy “secret.” We get to find out more about Gina’s past, as well as Tristan’s and what experience had really scarred him in relationships. Tristan and Gina were both very real characters, they weren’t perfect, and I liked that. They both made their share of mistakes, but it was wonderful to see them work through it and the way that they did it.

I am not sure why exactly, but for some reason Tylar seemed to get on my nerves in this book. I found her irritating in the first half of book 1, until she grew on me. But in this book, perhaps because we didn’t get her POV, she just came across almost selfish and whiny at times. Meh. *shrugs*

This was a quick and entertaining read. I finished it in one sitting.

Many of the characters from the last book made an appearance…including Amber

And Libby

But all that was made better by Tristan and Gina together.

This novella might have been short in comparison to the other books, but it packed a punch. Almost sad to see this series come to an end now. But what a ride!

4.5 ‘I want Trey to be my baby daddy’ Stars

Sometimes the most precious things in life are the result of just letting life happen.

Well, after staying up till 3am finishing reading this and that ENDING, I feel like I should let everyone know!

This series is seriously ADDICTING!

Please be prepared to read these books back to back.

Have coffee near you at all times, as you will be losing sleep reading this.

You will NOT be able to put it down until you read the very last page.

Seriously! I’m not kidding here people! After I was done with this book, I had to immediately read the 3rd one. Now here I am, over-caffeinated and twitching away attempting to write this review. So I apologize in advance if I ramble off…

How good was this book? Well let’s just say it was good enough for me to look past all the things that initially bothered me in the first book. And that’s something! I’m one picky bitch, I’ll be the first to admit it. And things like the overuse of womanhood or manhood typically bother the hell out of me. But I was so enthralled in the story, that I truthfully can’t even tell you right now that I could find it in me to care about these things.

Baby Love takes place where Maybe Baby left off. Tylar and Trey are enjoying the joys of parenthood, while the twisted story of Tylar’s past continues to be unraveling.

And holy crap, it did! Baby Love was a rollercoaster filled with action, suspense, many more secrets coming to light, and of course more Trey.

I love a good romance, and I love a romance filled with super steamy scenes. But what I loved most about this book was the story. It was FANTASTIC! There was so much going on, with twists and turns that sucked me in from the first page.

I have to admit, that while I love Trey, Tristan definitely gives him a run for his money, and he was just a supporting character. We got more of Tristan, and more of Gina, and Tristan and Gina.

It did take me a bit to get into things with the first book, but I had no such issues with this one. I’m totally and completely addicted.

The twists and turns that took place and things that were revealed in this book?

And then there was that ending. GAH! That friggin ending! Here I thought I was being all clever, staying up to finish it. Let me just warn you, if you’re finishing this up before going to bed…well prepare the coffee, my friends, because you will not be going to sleep any time soon. You will NEED, HAVE TO HAVE the 3rd book.

Now that is all the over-caffeinated ramblings you’ll be getting from this girl. Go read this book! Do it! Just make sure you have book 3 waiting for you when you’re done with it.

I’m off to drool over Tristan in book 3.5. So I thank you!

Review: Maby Baby Lite (Baby Series Lite #1) by Andrea Smith

Maybe Baby Lite (Baby Series Lite, #1)Maybe Baby Lite by Andrea Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

His nearness electrified me. He didn’t realize that he did those same things to me. My lips wanted him to kiss me, my heart wanted him to love me, and my hormones, well they were all about him spanking me at the moment.

I was going to have him tonight and whatever monsters or memories still lurked in my subconscious would just have to sit back and watch.

Well…that was definitely different. I went into this expecting a hot little read, but what I got is so much more.

No really! I kid you not, my friends. While this book was indeed a spicy one, I absolutely loved that it was filled with mystery, angst, and enough twists and turns to keep me turning the pages on my kindle till the very end.

There were things that I loved, things that I didn’t quite love, and then things that plain irritated me.

Let’s start with the characters.

Trey

Oh…I’m supposed to say something else about here, huh? Well alrighty then. It’s no secret that I love the super arrogant, possessive, sexy commitment-phobe types and Trey was that in spades. Unfortunately at times, it was a tad much…even for me. I found myself getting frustrated with him and the choices he would made and things he did at times. I had a tough time getting into the dynamic of his relationship with Tylar in the beginning. It just felt like they went from hate-lust at first sight to a somewhat relationship. I just wanted a little more development there. But as much as I wanted to slap him at times, I still loved him. It’s just something about those arrogant assholes. No matter how much they piss me off, I still love them. Le sigh.

Taylor

I had a love/hate relationship with Taylor for a large part of this book. I had to keep reminding myself that she was only 21. She had a horrific childhood that left her dealing with quite a few demons. Her immaturity is what ultimately drove me crazy about her. The choices she would make with Trey frustrated the hell out of me. Not to say that Trey was an angel, but Taylor made some choices that had me wanting to reach through my Kindle and shake her.

I also had a hard time believing her sexual 180. She went from

to

I swear, I’m not sure what was in her Cosmo articles, but damn! Girl picked up some skills for a virgin.
I also could have done without her constant reference to Trey’s smooth and silky voice. I swear, every time she said it, I would just get a flashback to

And after I got done giggling like a stupid school girl, I would just roll my eyes.
But as much as she frustrated me, I couldn’t help but grow to like her towards the end of the book.

Tylar’s mom

I said it before, and I’ll say it again: I want to kick this woman in the ovaries. My inner dirty girl and I had many conversations about this (yes, I talk to myself at times…what of it?) and we are in total agreement here

The story

This was quite possibly my favorite part about the book. While I love a steamy romance, it needs to have a good plot to go along with it to keep my interest. And Maybe Baby Lite definitely had that. I loved every part about the story; the side characters, the mystery, the angst, EVERYTHING. I friggin LOVED Gina, her humor, the things she’d say; she was awesome. Tristan also managed to give Trey a run for his money in the sexiness department. I just saw that I will be getting more of my 2 favorite side characters in book 3.5 (Andrea, you rock, woman!) and I cannot wait to read all about them.

The steam

Sweet baby Jebus but this book was HAWT! Sadly, I’m not sure if my ovaries survived this book. I’m pretty sure they might have had a spontaneous combustion somewhere around the 60% mark.

As much as they frustrated me at times, and putting aside the few cheesy lines that gave me an eye roll or 5, I loved Tylar and Trey together. They weren’t perfect and had plenty of issues. But ultimately I liked where it brought them to by the end of the book. Though that ending…THAT ENDING! THank God I have the second book already, or someone might have gotten hurt LOL.

So that is all the ramblings from this girl, I’m off to lick…errr…read more Trey in Baby Love Lite. And I thank you

News and upcoming releases

It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of anything Kresley Cole. I have been obsessed with her Immortals After Dark series since the very first book. I have it listed in my favorites here: http://dirtygirlromance.blogspot.com/PNR Faves

So I was so friggin excited that she plans to release an erotic e-serial called the game makers!

I’m not typically a fan of e-serials. I hate how at the end of the series, you’ve found yourself paying over $15 at times for a bunch of quickie novellas. But for Kresley Cole I believe I will willingly part with that money. This is planned to be a 3 part installment. Just check out this description:

From #1 NYT bestselling author Kresley Cole comes The Game Makers: a scorching new erotica series featuring ruthless men, daring women, and their blazing hot encounters.
Book 1, The Professional, tells the story of a young woman desperate to uncover the mysteries of her past and the hitman bound to protect her.
From an opulent palace in Russian, to the wicked playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, to the sultry beaches of Spain, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest—and most forbidden—fantasies can come true. . . .
The best part about this series? This little nugget here: A former prize-fighter turned mafia enforcer whose ovession for the boss’s long-list daughter will take them to the darkest limits of their desires

Um YES PLEASE! Sign me up for that. You can read more about it on the author’s site here:
Oh and the even better part? Part 1 of the series is due to be published on December 9, my birthday! Happy fucking birthday to me!!! *SQUEEEE*
And for those that follow Kresley Cole’s IAD series, she has announced that Lynthe and Thronos are up next. FINALLY!

Review: Bound by Him by Red Garnier

Bound by Him (The Billionaire's Club #3)Bound by Him by Red Garnier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“There’s a little string” – he pointed at his chest and then at hers – “from here to here. I don’t need to tie you. We’re bound to each other, wherever we are, whether we like it or not.”

He’d been her one and only love. He’d been her safe haven. He’d freed her from hell and taken her to heaven, and then he’d left her for three years.

Andrew Fairchild fell for Whitney Donahue hard and fast. He knew right away that she is the only woman for him. Their love was strong and he knew he would do anything to protect the fragile woman that he lost his heart to.

But three years ago when a tragedy strikes Andrew was forced to make a difficult decision that took him away from her. But now he’s back and all he wants is the woman that is bound to his soul.

Andrew was Whitney’s first and only love, and she knows that she will never love any other man the same way. But Andrew broke her heart and her trust when he left her, and she is no longer the broken and fragile girl that she once was. But no matter how much her mind might fight it, her body and heart know that she still belongs to him. She may try to deny it the connection between still exists after these years, but the passion between them never burned out.

When a madman threaten’s Whitney’s safety, there is only one man that she trusts to keep her safe, and Andrew will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.

This novella was packed with action and suspense, and enough steam to set your e-reader on fire. I loved that Andrew didn’t hide his feelings or was the typical male slut hero. He loved Whitney with a passion and he wasted no time or words in proving it to her.

The story never felt rushed and it flowed very nicely. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. I am not typically one for serial novellas, but I love that these books are all pretty much stand-alones. You don’t have to wait 5 books to get a HEA. It hits the spot for whenever I need a quick and steamy read. I also liked that it had a story line beyond just Andrew and Whitney’s relationship. There was the added mystery behind the madman that blackmails Whitney. It was great that it wasn’t another one of those fluffy and quick novellas. I’m really looking forward to the next book. If you’re looking for a quick, steamy read with a great story, a sexy as hell hero then definitely give this one a try.

A solid 4 stars from me.

Review: Craving Constellations by Nicole Jacquelyn

Craving Constellations (The Aces, #1)Craving Constellations by Nicole Jacquelyn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Raw, gritty, and completely captivating stars

“I know, baby. I know you need control. But with me, you aren’t gonna get it.”

In my head I reminded myself that he was taken, but I couldn’t get over the feeling that he had always been mine.

I went into this book with absolutely zero expectations. I’m a sucker for MC books, but after a recent string of very mediocre reads, I wasn’t expecting much from a debut novel.

Holy shit was I wrong. This book blew me away! It was raw, gritty, painful, emotional, dark, passionate, and unputdownable until the very last page.

Five years ago Brenna made the decision to leave the only life she’s ever known behind, in the hopes of building a different future for herself. Being the daughter of the vice president of a MC that runs guns is not exactly what she wants to be know for. What she doesn’t expect is to run back to her old life when the new one she though she was building comes crumbling down on her. Leaving behind a brutally abusive husband, she takes her daughter and runs back to the only family she’s ever been able to rely on.

Dragon is the Aces new lieutenant. When he first met Brenna at a club party he had just gotten his cut, and had no idea that the enticing woman that he felt such a pull to was his VP’s daughter. They share a night of passion only for her to take off and then reappear in his life with one huge secret.

Fuckin’ gone for five years. No one hears from you. Now, you come back, and I find out you had my daughter and didn’t tell me FOR FIVE FUCKIN’ YEARS?”.

Dragon is devasted that he was kept from his daughter for 4 years, and as much as he may blame Brenna for the decisions that she’s made and her betrayal he can’t seem to make himself stop wanting her.

Nicole Jacquelyn took two imperfect and fucked up characters and wrote them in such a way that you just couldn’t help but love them.

I am not typically a fan of heroines that are overly emotional but yet I felt for Brenna. Her life hasn’t been an easy one, and although she has made some mistakes she still struggles to bring back the strong woman that she once was. She left behind her life because she didn’t want to be the old lady on the sidelines while her man came home smelling like club whores. Dragon may not be perfect, but the magnetic pull between them is impossible for her to deny.

I went into the thing with Dragon looking for a little escape from reality, and I’d gotten way more than I bargained for. He wasn’t charming like Tony. He didn’t tell me sweet things. He was gruff and rude, and the things he said to me made me blush.

Brenna and Dragon are attempting to mend things between them, but
will the secrets that she still hold on to threaten to break them once and for all?

Their relationship was gritty, painful, emotional, but real.

We weren’t making love. It wasn’t sweet or soft. We were fucking, hard. Every movement was rough and needy, and for once, Dragon wasn’t talking me through it. We just needed to be as close as we possibly could before the world came tumbling around us again.

I loved how the relationship between them, while having it’s fair share of bumps and turns, felt real. Dragon may have been a rough around the edges, says what he wants with no holds barred Alpha man, but the way he felt pain broke my heart.

His pain bled through the pages to me. And even though Brenna was the sole reason behind this, I couldn’t bring myself to blame her. They were both broken and tortured souls, and my heart went out for both of them.

He was like a wounded animal, and I was the hunter who’d wounded him. I didn’t know if he would ever forgive me.

There was a point in this book where Dragon did something that I would usually not be able to tolerate or understand in a hero. The fact that I not only forgave him for it, but understood his pain and remorse for it after the fact speaks volumes for the writing.

If you’re looking for an emotionally charged, beautifully written MC book then you really need to give this one a try. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series (hopefully it will be Grease?)

ARC Review: Taken by Him by Red Garnier

Taken by Him (The Billionaire's Club #2)Taken by Him by Red Garnier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sex appeal oozed from his pores so powerfully Peyton almost felt assaulted. He was all Greek god, do-me-now-or-kill-me-now sexy.

I went into this novella with very little expectations. I mean what can you really expect from 112 pages? When it’s written by Red Garnier, quite a bit actually.

I wanted a quick and steamy little read and I got that. What I also got was great characterization, an interesting story, HOT AS HELL sex scenes, and even a few laughs.

I don’t usually enjoy novellas too much simply because they are too quick for me to get any sort of feel or liking for the characters. I was so happy to see that when it came to sexy as hell Luke and the serious yet craving some spice Peyton, that was not the case. I really enjoyed this one.

Anyone that follows my reviews knows that I have a thing for the arrogant, slightly assholish, sexy manwhores. I can’t help myself. They just do it for me. And Luke was the manwhore to beat all manwhores. The man managed to get shot because he got caught having sex with a woman he shouldn’t have been having sex with. He’s not exactly discerning when it comes to women.

Everyone knew he was a cad – clearly, the heart in his chest was just for pumping blood to his cock. Not for feelings and shit.
Hell, he could probably live without one.

Luke has it all; good looks, success, money, and women seem to just flock to him. His ego also knows no bounds.

He was a sexy man. Everybody wanted him. His famed and acclaimed advertisements for one of his own male underwear companies were fit for a Playgirl cover; he was every woman’s wet dream and they went wild for his big, thick cock perfectly delineated under those damned white briefs.

Something about this egotistical bastard just worked for me

I’m like the fucking holy pope of sex. A night with me is like the pinnacle Of a lot of these women’s sexual lives.”.

While the man that shot him still hasn’t been caught, and his friends practically force him to get out of Chicago for the time being, Luke decides that Cancun will be the perfect place for him to regroup.

Peyton Lane is a successful business woman, a partner in a big invesment firm. She is always the responsible one, the serious one. So when she spends a week in an exotic resort in Cancun she plans to get lose. And what better way to do that then to have a steamy affair with a man she will never see again. When she first lays eyes on the sinfully sexy Luke, she knows she found just the man.

If there had been a god of pure lust and sex in Greek mythology- without the love aspect attached to it, like with Eros- the she had no doubt that his name would be Luke Fucking Preston.

Peyton Lane has always been serious and responsible and she’s determined to have some fun for once in her life. And that means a deliciously, sexy affair with a stranger while she’s on vacation. So when a blond Adonis named Luke crosses her path at the Cancun resort, she’s determined that he will be the one. What takes place is a 3 night scorching hot affair.

Peyton discovers that she doesn’t quite get what she bargained for with Luke, she gets more. She gets passion the likes of which she has never experienced.

For a quickie novella, this one packed quite a punch. I am not usually a fan of a quick relationship development, particularly with a renowned manwhore like Luke was. I am not sure if it was the writing, or the fact that I really enjoyed both the characters, but in this story it really worked. It wasn’t instantaneous, but it was believable.

And when Luke does fall, he falls hard.

This was a short, steamy, and extremely satisfying read. I read it in one sitting, and will definitely be reading the rest of the books in the series.
